Disengagment Time
The settlement well has run dry:
The city of Chicago has already gone through the $82 million that Mayor Brandon Johnson set aside for settlements and judgments in 2025. Now the fund could soon be $62.4 million in the hole.
That’s how much six new settlements on the agenda for Monday’s meeting of the City Council’s Finance Committee would end up costing taxpayers.
That’s not counting a $15.5 million settlement to private investors who leased Chicago parking meters.
Now, if the City and the Corporation DEI Counsel had elected to fight some of the previous cases that were obviously money-grabs, there might be tens of millions available. But the lawsuit grift and ensuing donations to politicians was just too good to an opportunity to pass up.

This is like reparations. Looks good to the low information voters. Will keep them on the Democrat plantation. And it’s great for the politicians claiming they are
justice seekers. The biggest winners are the parasites from the justice system. Chicago & Cook County are the hosts that feed their bloated carcasses.
How much of the settlement money gets kicked back to the demonrat party?
It is the only logical explanation as to why the city doesn’t fight these lawsuits.
I like to think of them as reparations.
A good chunk of that will be spent on liquor and newports. At least the city will get some of the cash back thru exorbitant taxes.
And Scratchie sales to support public education.
Never ever ever forget the demonized yutes.
Backdoor bribes that eventually make it to certain officials campaign funds.
bonehead couldn't pay his household bills on time. brain dead ,lake front liberals ,honor students from cps ,nursing home residents and deceased elected bonehead.
More pandering to their voter base.
The ghetto lottery has run dry ain’t that a bitch !
Some lawsuits get settled because it's cheaper than fighting the suit. For example, one deposition of one officer can cost between $5K and $10K when you add up the costs of OT for the officer, 1-3 attorneys, court reporter, video if used, cost of renting the room where deposition occurs, typing up the transcript, copies of the transcripts, and whatever else lawyers can think of. There's the costs of court appearances, hours spent answering motions by attorneys, paralegals, and secretaries.
Some lawsuits are settled because we effed up the paperwork. It is disheartening how badly some reports are written. Cutting and pasting, typographical and grammatical errors may slide past the overworked DSS, but it won't cut muster under the scrutinizing eyes of plaintiff's attorneys, corporation counsel, federal judges and sometimes appellate judges. Some 011th district coppers saw their case report in a "high crime area" make it to SCOTUS.
Rule of thumb: write every report as if it was going to be scrutinized in federal court with your assets on the line.

It gets exciting at the 4:30 mark.
Thanks to this useless DEI hire, her co-worker will be forced to sweat it out in front of his department's version on COPA, get hit with a lawsuit, all while she hits the medical or permanent disability for PTSD and enjoys the rest of her life stress-free.
Law is not about right or wrong, ethics, morality, law and order or what's in the best interest of its citizens. Plain and simple its the money.
You'll never understand the plaintiff's lawyers and courthouse corruption around Chicagoland if you don't grasp the espionage. Think of Anjanette Young. A normal person isn't hanging out naked in the dark while the police are outside battering down the door.
Before I joined the DOJ I was a PPO fresh out 87-1 in 018 and an old lieutenant told me coppers are always bitching. Give them a gold bar and they will complain that it’s too heavy. He was right based on what I have seen as a first time reader of this blog. I’m so glad I saw the light and joined the bureau as an intelligence research specialist. I have worked along side special agents on investigations that were spectacular. And these folks loved their jobs and America and embraced the notion that diversity is America’s strength! .
There should be a statutory cap on these "police misconduct" winnings.
The politics(internal and external) you put up with as a lowly CPD beat officer is million times worse than at the FBI or whatever alphabet soup agency you work for. It's 2025 and the FEDs still refuse to utilize body cameras on search warrants. You can't even imagine what kind of stress your average CPD officer is under in 2025 when their entire tour of duty, every interaction is recorded. Every use of force incident is reviewed and judged by at least 6 different UOF oversight offices. Often times those offices are staffed by officers(phone calls) with 2 years on the job or civilians. You have no idea how bad it's gotten since 1987, kid. But glad you made the right choice by leaving this no good department. Your 1987 Lieutenant is just another connected clown. To the officers still on the job, take care of your health and utilize the medical if needed.
Your last line indicates exactly why you were a fed and a Biden voter ..iykyk
Are you trolling? You post that shit here.
STFU and get off this blog with your bullshit
Writing every report like it will end up in federal court?!?! I disagree. 4-5 sentence reports work best.
Your convoluted statement is a mess. Intelligence research specialist and diversity stand out as words to vomit out of a NPC mouth. You couldn’t handle being the police in the Jets. Obviously the GD’s in the Green got to you. CPD goes hands on you are hands off.
First of all, the FBI is corrupt as hell, (hopefully Trump takes care of that soon) and by your writing, doesn't sound like you have much intelligence!
Don’t worry, our pensions will be fine!
I think it's established as $120M, the last judgement.
