Conflict of Interest?
A "conflict of interest" is defined thusly:
- A conflict of interest occurs when an individual or organization has multiple interests that could potentially influence their decisions, often leading to biased judgment. This situation is particularly important in fields like law, medicine, and business, where personal interests may conflict with professional duties.
We bring this up because we are being told of an ongoing issue involving the Medical Section and the Pension Board regarding the duty status of a number of Officers. Case in point:
- an Officer has been determined by multiple city doctors to be "mentally or physically unfit for duty." This finding makes the Officer eligible for a hearing before the Pension Board Disability Committee to determine what the Officer is entitled to receive;
- the Disability Committee however, has decided to disregard the findings by the very doctors they hired to do these evaluations, and has ordered the Officer to undergo an additional "functional capacity evaluation" in preparation for a return to duty;
- remember, multiple doctors have found that this Officer is mentally or physically unfit for duty, as in performing the necessary tasks to protect themself, their partner and the public, up to and including carrying a firearm.
There are a number of doctors hired by the Pension Board to do these evaluations. There is a doctor in charge of the Medical Section who appears to be a "per diem" employee of the organization that is paid by the Pension Board to conduct these "FCE" examinations and all seem to share some sort of professional association among medical facilities. Does it seem suspicious that an organization benefiting financially from a city entity recommending evaluations would be allowed to interact in this manner?
To top it all off, the Medical Section is slow-walking all of the letters and paperwork the Officers need for their hearing, leading to extensive delays in scheduling before the Committee, leading to lapses in insurance coverage. We're talking extensive delays, sometimes nine or ten months.
We shouldn't be surprised at all this incompetency as one of the Disability Committee members is Melissa Conyears-Ervin, recent Inspector General target and wife of the un-indicted stripper patronizing aldercreature.
But this crap is driving families into debt and bankruptcy.

Once again; "DEI" .. great shit you came up with all you Leftist assholes.
A lot of things on this job is a messed up. For most you just hope to make it past 20 years. For the few who don’t have a phone call you are screwed. Shit has gotten out of hand.
Speaking of conflict of interest… anyone see what Talley put out the other day? The department created a “RESILIENCY” award for everyone’s actions in the “trying times” that was 2020 from Jan-Nov of that year. Hahahaha!!
WHAT A CROCK OF SHIT!!!
The real resilience was us having to deal with the bullshit shot and you forcing us to run through hoops to avoid it and threatening us with separation. Fuck you all and your stupid ass award!!! I’m so glad I was RESILIENT in your attempts to try and force a shot on me. I said fuck you then and didn’t get it and now I say fuck you again as I return your stupid award to your dumb ass awards section!!!
Considering the amount of officers that have scammed the system including a white shirt with bullshit covid symptoms still i have no issue with anyone having to see multiple doctors in order to collect from our pension for the rest of their lives.
The previous doctor that was in charge of the medical section left because the BIA and the likes keep their hands in medical files. None of the shit is legit.
Treasurer Ervin might be in some crosshairs beyond the IG.
My source at the federal building, nicknamed Deep Dish because he dances at THE BATON for extra cash, says things are about to get interesting for some elected officials and highly paid city employees.
Deliziosa!
https://secondcitycop.blogspot.com/2023/09/more-chicago-scandal.html
yet the dems and libs could not or would not find a doctor to declare bidumb was mentally incompetent
The Medical Section has always been an incompetent, corrupt, Officer-abusing unit.
This is a valuable read to officers. I'm one of those officers going through it right not. And let me tell you, the FOP are not there to help you, that lady ORTIZ is a joke and will give you false information.
What a mess.
I can’t speak about this officer in particular, but the reality is that almost everyone can answer a call with a headset on and type a report. After the call hold onto a filing cabinet, stretch, and do it again. The biggest ——- ones can lie down on a yoga mat on the locker room bench and then go back to work.
Officers cannot live the glamorous life and then exaggerate the extent of their injuries to guliable people.
Amen. I worked special with someone that said the dept forced him to get the shot he didnt want. I reminded him that nobody held him down and injected him and instead he was just not a man of conviction.
That white shirt probably has vaccination symptoms and not covid symptoms
Catch Madam treasurer at midway, she is always utilizing police resources there as a security detail to get her family and her fatass through security
I worked and supported during that time and no award given to me. But I never got the covid19 shot shot, so
F/1 M@nny has helping hands
Just imagine, and this will never happen, if a non-Democrat got elected mayor of Chicago and started looking into all the different ways the city government wastes taxpayer time, money, and resources. You would have to tear the entire government structure down to the ground and build it back up again, piece by piece.
Has ANYTHING become of this?
Jason Erwin is an aldercreature with a shady background. He owns/owned properties in Maywood, at least one of which was allegedly used as a crackhouse. There was the bachelor party stripper video filmed in what was said to be his aldermanic office.
Now his wife is appearing in headlines for some shady shit where the Groot administration was hiding email records and now her office being the subject of a computer seizure by the Inspector General:
City Treasurer Melissa Conyears-Ervin acknowledged asking BMO Harris about providing a loan to her husband’s landlord, a key allegation contained in a recently released 2020 letter from two former treasurer employees who accused Conyears-Ervin of repeatedly misusing taxpayer resources and abusing the powers of her office.
We're also told that there are allegedly four PPP loans in her name. The four loans are all of a similar nature, but have four different addresses, so we don't know what that means. That there are four different individuals with the same name applying for four different loans? We suppose it's possible.
After all, there are allegedly three PPP loans in the name of aldercreature Angela Clay, and there were a couple news stories about her financial issues.
All sorts of breadcrumbs that an enterprising reporters could make a meal out of....if there were any.
Some years back a Lt from the SOS scandal wife was in charge of the medical section. She was taking kick backs for referrals. Nothing to see here.
I also blame the scammers of the system too. How many people do we know who got disability for complete BS and are scamming the system. I know several. Numerous can be light duty, even full duty but they got that golden ticket for the scam. Now the new scam is PTSD.. if they are claiming PTSD then they should have never been the police and if you can handle your day to day job and feel you need the rest of your career off for ptsd then you should be psyched and fired, not given an golden parachute. People with “back problems” “leg problems” “heart problems” that they try to trump up to make it as if they will keel over and die if they pick up a phone at leads. They should all be working at call back, leads and all the inside 35th and district spots.. not sitting at home with a smile knowing they gamed the system. The scammers have made it a headache for legitimate injuries to get covered. We have officers who have been shot who go back to work. Meanwhile some mope “slips” in a parking lot and gets a lifetime of pay. Disgusting
i can confirm a friend of mine (suburban officer) assigned to cook county wedge unit has investigated numerous narcotics activity at his residence
This is the only comment making sense so far.

Officer on the watch tells me when the vaccine mandate deadline was officially announced by the city. His wife told him "YOU"RE GETTING THE SHOT". I asked him how's it feel to be seen by your own "family" as nothing more than an ATM... He clearly never even gave it a thought before. Basically relegated to nothing more than a modern day slave who's allowed to exist in the house as long as the bi-weekly deposits keep coming.
Agree about the scammers, but there is people that got hurt doing the job. As for PTSD, every case is different. Everyone has some form of it… sounding like someone who probably hid inside the whole time I’m sure you have it too. It is probably just not as bad as those that worked the street.
Disagree, FOP walks everyone through the process. There are dozens of people that FOP has aided and abetted with their life time golden ticket. FOP stands for fuck our pensions, give everyone disability.
You sound like a hard charger, go save the city batkid. You have less then 5 years and know it all

Nope easily found on Google. Thanks for playing.
She seemed to intentionally give me the wrong phone when I was going through something. I called that number and it was to an involved party that I should not have been asking to speak with.
The real issue is that there are no light duty positions for lieutenants and above. It’s part of the public corruption the benefits the clouted in Chicago. This needs to be changed right NOW. Get the exaggerators back to work and off disability.
"Modern day slave". I'm pretty sure slaves didn't get paid.
It's long been overdue for an overhaul of pension board policies
regarding disability pensions. Glad you're shining a light on this.
