“Jails and incarceration and law enforcement is a sickness that has not led to safe communities,” Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson declared during a fiery press conference Tuesday, adding that he intends to “eradicate” that sickness.
Johnson made the remarks after a reporter asked him about his administration’s public safety plan. During his diatribe, the mayor cited four years of Chicago murder data, beginning with the city’s record-setting 970 killings in 1974. He noted there were 828 murders in 1995, 778 in 2016, and 805 in 2021.
“This has been a problem in this city for a very long time,” Johnson said, claiming the city is seeing improvement due to his initiatives. Now, the mayor claimed, President Donald Trump “wants to put his name on our paper” and take credit for the latest downtrend.
But Johnson chose outlier years to bolster his point, including the city’s worst year on record, while overlooking the longer trend of steady decline. Between 2004 and 2013, Chicago never recorded more than 513 killings in a year, and most years stayed under 450, according to official records. In 2015, the city had 493 murders, well below the 778 he cited for 2016. And the 2021 total occurred during the pandemic crime surge.
He does know how to read statistics, right? He does know that something like 85% of these murders....and murderers....are of a single ethnic background? And 12% are from another?
And if law enforcement is "the problem," then why does this retarded asshole have over 130 assigned to protect him?
It's time for those officers detailed to Detached Services to use their phone calls to get reassigned somewhere else.

He has over 130 assigned to him. You have to count all the ones he has sitting on his house plus the ones that are not assigned to detect services. They are pulled out from other places for the valets for his family friends or whatever he needs there’s more than that we all know that and now the Alderman are bitching and complaining they need more security at City Hall and other places. What next do they all get driversand us the people that live in the city are we just lemmings in a sick computer game where we could get shot killed at any time apparently we are. The best thing would be for Brandon also for the governor to just resign.
The only reason this city has lower homicide numbers is due to the phenomenal advancement in life saving care post Global war on Terror, from the police applying tourniquets, chest seals etc to the life saving skills the trauma centers are providing. The shootings are still sky high injuries are just becoming more survivable due to what happens post shooting.

I often read comments from our esteemed black leaders that crime is caused by " Underfunded" black communities. Well, maybe that was the case 50-60 years ago but there is no evidence it is the case now or in the recent past. I surely would like Conehead to produce evidence of this. Millions upon millions of government money has been poured into black areas of this cities for decades . All of it wasted. Some went to salaries and benefits of those connected. It takes private investment to make a community safe and vibrant and that will not happen when the violence and theft rate is high. Look at the Hispanic areas of Chicago. They have gang problems, but there are restaurants, businesses and people are investing in their homes. Private investment. These malfunctioning black leaders who have raped their own communities for a very long time just need an excuse to justify their own failures.
Sadly, the officers on the mayor's detail will all benefit from a handsome pension. There are patrol officers getting lieutenants pay and the pension will reflect that.
Unless things have changed, officers were " detailed" to detached services for bodyguard and driver duties and they will not be reflected on the total numbers. Unmarked cars were taken from Organized crime unit and others.

I just don’t understand why you wise men and women of the CPD buy into the fallacy of defined crime by the number of homicides. As others have pointed out here homicides are impacted by so many other factors, medical care being the most prominent. Doctors, not the police, have been reducing the homicide rate since the civil war.
Look at the stats from Hey Jackass. Every weekend we see where a few mutts kill/shoot multiple people. This is tribal warfare that under present conditions can never be changed. I have news for the mayor and you. Murders are just entertainment for most people. I not sure the families of those involved care much, unless the cops are involved.
So why do you, the cops, allow them to measure your effectiveness on a metric that you can’t impact (unless they allow you to use the tactics of old, that is stopping and frisking suspicious people), besides most people aren’t affected by homicide. Better yet, look at the crimes that really do scare people, carjackings, rapes, burglaries, assaults, etc.. How’s the quality of life in Chicago compared to earlier times?
Unless I’m a carjacking victim, chances are I will never be a homicide victim. In my tribe we don’t kill each other because we’ve been disrespected, nor do I stray into the kingdom of the tribes that do. What I care about is the feeling of being unsafe walking to, my car early in the morning, when at any moment I can be confronted by a group of hunters who have no reverence for life who will kill me to take my old car.
The true measurement of police effectiveness is how safe Mr. & Mrs, America feels walking down the street, visiting public parks and in their homes.

Let's conduct a little experiment and shut down either 011 and 007. Move the officers to districts where they are appreciated. Claim the lower utilities and reduced need for new officers as cutting the budget and see what happens

Nothing is better than selling your soul and morals for a few bucks or two. Now get off the blog and get back to your mayor .. I think I hear him yelling that he needs his arus cleaned.
Your just not tough enough to "push a beat car", or smart enough to figure out how to make it work for you. Keep your few extra bucks, I rather make real money being the real police than working a detail that spits on any king of legacy you could of had in this career.
