Lucky Fata$$

This popped up a day ago:

  • Last year brought good fortune to Gov. JB Pritzker in his investment portfolio — and at the casino, too, according to 2024 income tax returns released by his campaign Wednesday.

In his joint filing with first lady MK Pritzker, the billionaire Democratic governor reported an adjusted gross income of almost $10.7 million, more than tripling the roughly $2.8 million they reported in 2023.

The good news is it came from Vegas casinos.

The bad news is it isn't going to play well in a reelection campaign, where Illinois has been raising taxes willy-nilly, giving away hundreds of millions to ILLEGAL ALIENS and cost-of-living numbers have been steadily climbing.

So now it's going to be a charitable donation

  • “I was incredibly lucky,” a smiling Pritzker said while being quizzed by reporters on his jackpot during an otherwise somber Loop press conference about the potential deployment of troops in Chicago. “You have to be to end up ahead, frankly, going to a casino anywhere.”

[...] “I like to play cards,” Pritzker added. “Anybody who’s played cards in a casino knows that you often play for too long and lose whatever it is that you’ve won. I was fortunate enough to have to leave before that happened.”

To rake in that kind of money, you (most likely) have to play in one of the high-roller rooms, where the moneyed class bets $100K....per hand. Which certainly won't play well in Peoria, or any other area where people notice that the governor (who insists he's just like us) can bet almost double the annual salary of the common people.

We're more likely to believe that every time Fata$$ said, "Hit me!" they brought him another plate of fried chicken and potatoes.

Again, his money is not in jeopardy from Illinois taxes. It's in the Grand Caymons. How is he equal to the common man? NOT AT ALL!!!

His winnings should be treated like the State / Lottery / education scheme - for every $ he won, the State should "take back" an equal $ amount from his pay. If winnings are more than his pay, he has to pony-up the diff - since he's "on-the-clock" 24/7 and was gambling "on State time." I'm guessing there's State personnel code that prohibits gambling on-duty for rank-and-file employees.

It’s almost like the guy who owned a share in a casino (up until he became governor of course because that would be unethical) was getting a money laundered delayed kickback for expanding gambling - including sports betting in Illinois or something (but that would be unethical of course).

Question is, which Casino did JB Prickster win the money in? And exactly how long was he staying there with his wife and security team?

Remember we have several casinos in Illinois that are rooted in Vegas.....
So would it be a large stretch for any casino to fly JABBA out to Vegas and let him party to keep him happy while the new Casino is being built here?
Did his wife also win?
Did his friends also win?
Were the rooms comped?
Keep the Governor happy and casino keeps getting what they want?

Winnings from an undisclosed casino at an undisclosed time with undisclosed players. I'm sure there is no chance a guy that removed a toilet to avoid a property tax bill would ever take money he's not supposed to take. I think a bigger deal is that someone worth an estimated 3.9 billion claims to have only earned something like 8.5 million on that money. He needs a new investment advisor. Or he's full of shit and avoiding paying taxes a different way.

I'm offended! There isn't a chance his $10M winning was a kickback for his instrumental involvement in Bally's , the old Finkel & Son's site fast-track for the aforementioned, all the sports betting internet services now allowed to operate in Illinois, the gambling complex that'll be part of the larger Bears installation, etc.. NOT A CHANCE!

Lucky? For a man who claims to love to play cards, this is the first time he claimed gambling winnings on his tax returns and it was a whopper. That tells me that he has played many times before and did not win and most likely lost big. Think about someone going to Vegas and gambling on cards and winning more than one million? That is incredible and it surely was not his first time in the big money gambling circles and the fact that no one every leaked to the media about his gambling tells me it was all behind closed doors and with the wealthy.

The Pritzker cousins avoid paying taxes in all kinds of remarkably petty ways. Like having million dollar paintings they buy for their Illinois mansions at Art Basel Miami delivered to the family compound in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin to dodge IL taxes on the purchase. Then just have a 3rd party drive the artwork south in a box truck & hang it on an Illinois wall.

Hey SCC…. Curious… were any of the winnings at a Bally owned casino in Vegas as they own a lot down there??? Or any of the other companies that were “awarded” gambling licenses in Illinois under pritzker that also own casinos in Las Vegas??? Seems like a conflict of interest or huge coincidence to award gambling licenses in Illinois and all of a sudden “win” 1.4 million in Vegas.. obviously it would be bad if he “won” this money at an Illinois casino… 1.4 million in winnings comes out to about a million after taxes come out.. a nice round number… could be something to this

I agree. There’s no way this was his first rodeo. Unless of course, it wasn’t gambling winnings, but rather just the cherry on top of a whole payola iced caked. Some are commenting that for a billionaire laundering a million is silly, but it’s not. If a million means he can buy his daughter a few new high bred horses…Greed has no number for people like this- even if it’s only $1 million here that he can steer into some bullshit connected non profit which scratches some other back which scratches back. Then there’s the other millions that get steered by comps and shady deals to approve licensing or look the other way on say who a casino chooses to contract for cement. Graft is the gift that keeps giving no matter the seemingly insignificant amount to a billionaire.

I agree with you. This is gambling winnings, but something he seems to have not claimed in a few years. That tells me he has lost a lot of money. I would guess he plays in high stakes card games behind closed doors in Vegas, games by invitation only and that most likely is why the media never caught on.
