Shots Fired at Police
A man was taken into custody Monday afternoon after allegedly ramming two Chicago police vehicles and firing a gunshot at officers during a pursuit on the Northwest Side, according to CPD.
Shortly after 4 p.m., police said, an officer assigned to the Jefferson Park (16th) District tried to stop a Jeep Cherokee for a traffic violation. The driver allegedly struck the marked squad car with his vehicle and sped off. As officers pursued him, the man allegedly fired at least one round out the back of the SUV, striking the police vehicle. No officers were injured.
The chase continued to the 4500 block of North Meade Avenue, where the suspect crashed into another marked squad car. He then ran from the scene but was captured in the 6100 block of West Eastwood Avenue, according to police.
Officers did not return fire during the incident, and no injuries were reported. A firearm was recovered from the Jeep, police said.
Can't wait to see the background in this particular individual. He'll probably claim he thought he was being pursued by ICE or something.
Well done Officers.
