Well Done

Great job and recognition for a job well done:

  • Four Chicago police officers are being honored for their swift response and decisive actions that led to the arrest of a man accused of brutally attacking and raping a woman in Belmont Cragin this summer.

The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation announced that 25th District Officers Alejandro Vega, Jesus Flores, Jasper Catalano, and James Witt have been named September’s Officers of the Month for locating and arresting 21-year-old Leyter Arauz-Medina minutes after the assault.

According to court records and prosecutors, the attack occurred around 3 a.m. on August 31 in the 2300 block of North Lavergne Avenue. The 54-year-old woman was walking home when Arauz-Medina allegedly ran out of nearby Blackhawk Park, grabbed her by the hair, and dragged her into an alley. Prosecutors said he tore off her clothes, told her she was going to die, and repeatedly slammed her head into the concrete until she lost consciousness.

A rapid and efficient response along with a methodical search soon located the offender, who was captured after a short foot chase....probably in violation of the foot chase policy being championed by "progressives" like Conehead, Evans, Prickwrinkle and Fata$$. It's a good thing the drooling vegetable "president" spent four years importing and supporting rapists to do the criminal sexual assaults that American criminals were refusing to do.

In any event, great job by the Officers.

Oh god, it wasn’t in violation of any policy. Quit the fear mongering. Just say great job officers and leave it at that

Whatever comes of this FOP shit, do yourself and the entire Union a favor, do NOT vote for Kevin William Graham or Martin Prieb. two of the biggest proven DO-NOTHINGS when in office. zero point zero. P.S. and probably not for anyone that goes by a nickname like "Mic" or "Cos". we need legit people with real backgrounds

Good job officers.

Got to rant on cpmf. Taxes filed for 2023 show Kline is paid $215,000 by the fund. That's for 6 months work, as he's in Florida the other 6.

Noticed he changed hours work from 40 per week to 1. Apparently he talked to the accountant and said how can we fix this so I'm not charged with lying on federal tax forms?

And who are the other employees paid the remaining $540,000 in 2023? Saw that you got the accountant to find a way to not list their names? Wonder why? Is your son on the cpmf payroll now too Fill?

And stop wasting foundation money on awards, Kline You do that for yourself. Real police would rather see the money go to disable officers.

Think if you donated your time to the foundation you created, Kline. Your 19 year salary would be over 3 million dollars for disabled officers. Like one who is forced to live in another country in a wheelchair, because that's where housing is that he can afford.

Mayor Brandon Johnson...if that was your wife that was brutally raped by an illegal, how would that make you feel? With your 24 hour 150=200 police officer security detail, what do you have to say to real Chicagoans who are doing most of the living and dying in this city while you live behind an armed security force?
If crime is truly down why do yiou need such a large security force?

Have to agree 100% with above comment. Can’t imagine that anyone has any idea that Cline is making that kind of money. Disgraceful. Give you odds the average citizen, even more, the average copper thinks he volunteers his time in that post.

It is good to hear that despite lack of proactive attitude that there are still officers that when the need for help comes up these fine officers in the greatest tradition of police duty charge into the fray.

God bless you all and keep you safe.

The longer you live the more you see the people that hold positions on union, pension, and memorial boards.
They all say what’s necessary to get the positions. But remember this IS the Chicago way. It’s expected that we will be served up steaming bowls of bullshit from political exempt hacks and city hall. It just feels a little bit personal when people we choose from within our ranks to defend work conditions and preserve pension funds are more focused on self preservation,
In short order they are taking more and doing less (or worse, become detrimental ). Then most of them develop a sense of entitlement. The worst of them don’t go away. They “eye” the NEXT board position (and the $$$ & perks).
It’s no different CPD or CFD.
It’s bad enough when they hold these positions while taking a leave from active duty, but then they set out to make it a SECOND income on top of their pensions.
I’d like to think that they ALL start out with great intentions, but that’s too naive.
Live long enough and you will see the pattern.

I’ve learned to be suspect of most “Charities.” I understand that if there’s a lot of work involved, it’s okay to pay people to do good work and make the charity flush with funds (to reach the people the charity was set up to benefit). However, having worked and volunteered for charities I’ve seen greed. No shortage of embezzlement, fat expense accounts, people declaring no salary but then receiving a salary from the charity in an indirect manner. Seen people who started them all of a sudden have lifestyle improvements: everything from big $80k vans used for their kids or other vehicles, 3-4 vacations a year, new bigger homes…all within a relatively short time of starting a charity. I donate with caution. It’s legal embezzlement, but most people look the other way if they feel a few people get helped. Charities are some of the biggest scams going.

Canceled my donation first month out of the academy, or as soon as I found out the CEO at the time made 180K a year. I asked myself, what can a CEO/President do at these feel good charity organizations that warrants a 180K a year salary. Couldn't justify funding some connected CEO's life style to the tune of 180K a year. But now the CEO's pay is even more? Appears there are even more naive and gullible coppers out there willing to send in $20-50 a paycheck, like I once was. Or forced to donate to keep their spot kind of like the tack tickle Christmas tickets.

Tunnel To Towers is a great charity. They help military, law enforcement and firefighters. The majority of the funds they raise, go straight to those who need it. I hate to put his name out here because he's been gone from cpmf for a long time, but John Gordon, brother of Michael Gordon, did a great job when he was with cpmf. He actually cared and did it for the right reasons. He was all heart and it showed. It's never been the same since he's been gone.

This might help. If you're assigned an assist ICE job with a hostile crowd have your helmet and Gas Mask available.

When you show up and ICE has their Gas Mask on that might be a sign to put yours on. Don't wait for your supervisor to tell you to protect yourself.
