While the investigation into misappropriation was "closed," all is not well at the Lodge. We got reports from a couple people this week regarding the Wednesday meeting:
- So at the union meeting last night, the crew was completely gas lighting the members . First [JC] stated that he will not discuss the subpoena on “advice of counsel." the $425 hour lawyer our dues are paying for . When [...] asked him are we still having to pay for his lawyer he said in a smug tone "Yes." Next was word salad where he said the “union “ was under investigation and that’s why we are paying for his lawyer
- A simple question was asked is John named in the subpoena and he said he would not answer . We are paying for his lawyer and we can’t get a straight answer on what the subpoena is about ? He also stated the US attorney got a “complaint “ and this is why they are asking for records.
So the union is under investigation? Then the membership deserves answers.
Is the president under investigation? Then the membership ought not be footing the bills.
- [JC]’s so confident that it’s all meritless and based on some sort of personal vendetta, he mentioned retaliating against whoever brought such an unsubstantiated allegation to the Feds, saying the person responsible needed to face consequences.
Um, whistleblower protections first of all. If there's retaliation, the membership better not be paying damages. Besides, that would be a civil matter, paid for by the aggrieved party, who (allegedly) is in such dire financial straits, he couldn't begin to pay those hourly rates, even with the union credit card.
And what's with the Board member in attendance being so drunk he couldn't give his report without staggering on stage and slurring his words so badly the audience couldn't understand portions?
The other guy drinking hard liquor on the rocks right up on stage?

Sorry guys, I've belonged to a real union for over 50 years here in Chicago, everything is above board and open to the members. We have special meetings and vote on everything. We took a haircut in 2009 and voted to partially cut our benefits for the good of the membership,and when the markets rebounded we were paid back with interest. The feds are always watching and our expenses and salaries are posted online. Our president Flys coach and reports his spending. During contract negotiations with 100s of contractors they are always moving forward inventing new perks for us. We are actually very proud of our union. I really can't understand how J C gets away with the scandalous shit he is apparently pulling. You guys deserve much better. I hope you can run these schmucks out of town and get proper representation. Sincerely cpd family.

The picture doesn’t do it justice. Being there, you could see the weight of the world on their shoulders. Their tension was palpable. They all seem to slowly be absorbing the gravity of what’s hanging over their heads. Judging by his alcohol (opiate?) fueled performance, Holy Roller Noceda will be the first one to crack when his subpoena arrives. Can you say “weakest link”?

This is 💯. As someone who regularly has business in the building I can verify this is a fact. They know their days are numbered and they’re going crazy trying to figure out who besides John will get scooped up. The atmosphere in the office is like being at a funeral and the looks on their faces all the time are like this picture. This is the look of defeat, of knowing something bad is about to happen. Small talk doesn’t happen anymore and when business is discussed we are all very brief and on topic because no one knows who to trust anymore, wondering who said what to the Feds, who’s on whose side etc etc. I predict a partial mutiny when the time comes cuz a few have finally seen John for who he really is. Only it’s probably too late. And more than a few of them seem to have started hitting the bottle harder and more often. It’s very clear that things are unraveling here. We’re told the investigation is “closed,” yet somehow we’re still shelling out $425 an hour for an attorney who can’t even clarify whether the president of the Lodge himself is named in the subpoena. That’s not transparency that’s contempt for us footing the bill. Are phone records being subpoenaed? If so, it is imperative ALL PHONE records including texts be gathered for the Grand Jury, especially beginning in 2023. JCAT’s revenge tactics and payoffs are in those text messages and phone calls. You’ll have more charges lodged against everyone involved.
If the FOP is under investigation, then the membership deserves straight answers. And if JCAT is under investigation, along with DiSanti, McGuire, Cosentino and Brown, et al. there is absolutely no reason where the members should be subsidizing his personal legal defense. JCAT’s smug response “Yes” when asked whether we’re still paying for his lawyer tells you everything you need to know. He thinks the membership works for him, not the other way around.
Then we’ve got the threat of “retaliation” against whoever allegedly brought information forward?
Let’s hope someone in that room has actually heard of whistleblower protections, because if he follows through on his little revenge fantasy, which he has done to others it won’t just be reckless, it’ll be expensive. And the membership better not be expected to cover court-awarded damages for a president who can’t control his mouth, his obsession with spending money, his revengeful behavior or his ego.
Finally, as if the credibility of the FOP board wasn’t already hanging by a thread we had a Board member so drunk he could barely stay upright, slurring through a report that no one could understand. Did he drive home under the influence?? That’s not unprofessional. That’s humiliating. It’s an embarrassment to the Lodge and to every member who pays dues.
You can’t preach integrity, transparency, or fiscal responsibility, JCAT , when the leadership can’t answer basic questions, hides behind lawyers, threatens retaliation, and staggers onto the stage half in the bag. If you think this is acceptable, then you’ve forgotten who you work for and it’s time the membership votes a no confidence.

During a previous state meeting, John demanded that the state lodge provide him with information regarding the subpoena they were served, which they refused to release. John is also expected to demand to be recognized as President of both the state lodge and the local lodge. It appears he may attempt to cover his tracks in the process.
John is through. The FOP Lodge has no muscle. It’s just a matter of time who will bend and roll over. Your dues are being eaten away by reckless spending and investigations. If John and his minions had any sense, they would call for an internal audit to quash rumors. They can’t though because then they would be exposed.

Regarding the attorney who is representing J-Cat at the rate of $425 per hour, I am do not know who is dumber, the people who are trying to sell the convenient lie ($425 per hour) or the people who actually believe that the the rate is $425 per hour and still think that that is too much. No experienced lawyer, especially with federal issues, will charge $425 per hour. For a reputable, experienced, and knowledgeable lawyer, $1,500 per hour is a bargain basement rate. And one hour of work might get billed for 2 or 3 hours, plus fees. But I digress, what is going on with the Triple P Loan Fraud Dispatchers? What is going on with the retarded dispatcher who could not comprehend a simple message of “everyone is responding, we are sending everyone.” If that were an unconnected blue shirt, then he or she would have been hung out to dry a long time ago.
