A former Cook County judge who stole large sums of money from an elderly friend who served as a Tuskegee Airman received a probationary sentence on Friday.
Patricia Martin, 66, received four years of probation after pleading guilty to theft of $100,000 to $500,000, according to court records. The judge also ordered her to pay $122,763.73 in restitution and comply with standard probation conditions that include random drug testing.
Wow. Four years probation for stealing over a quarter-million dollars from a war hero, probably among the greatest of heroes in the black community. Mr. Wilkerson died a few years ago, before he was forced to witness this abomination of so-called "justice."
Anyone know why Cook county produces so many crooked, corrupt judges like this one, or the one who made unsubstantiated accusations against CPD for made-up threats after the Whitley Temple debacle, or the dozens who went to prison after Greylord?

This is from CWB: "The thefts were uncovered after a senior living facility terminated Wilkerson’s residency because of unpaid bills. An attorney was brought in to examine his finances and filed a lawsuit against Martin in 2022. She failed to respond, resulting in a default judgment of about $1.1 million, according to court filings."
Other news stories relate the judge was his niece through a previous marriage.
So his stay at the home was terminated because she was pilfering his money. He died in 2023 at 96. What a rotten corrupt bitch. So all she got probation. Strange, the court doesn't indicate what it includes if anything. She should forfeit her Cook County pension (but they can't make her), wear an ankle monitor and have to volunteer in nursing homes changing diapers for those four years. The courts are adamant about crimes against the elderly except when you are a Crook County Democrat Judge. Wonder who her clout is?

What does this mean? Simply means if your police or firefighter and your injured otj you will get taxed here! did bedford park started this trend? This crooked judge/teef should lose her pension, insurance, and any other benefits she acquired during her time on the bench. She should be found guilty of financial abuse of the elderly and should wear an ankle bracelet for the remainder of her life. Disgusting.

If she had been a bit more patient she might have been able to inherit it legitimately.
O/T Speaking of a flawed promotional system. The last sergeant’s list was cut off around 400. Which means at least 100 merit sergeants made it instead of candidates that actually scored under 500, and then the list was tossed. I would bet my bottom dollar that vast majority of the 400 that made it off of score either had the test or attended the “right” study group.
The previous lists went up to 900, based off of score. The decision to end that list at 400 was a huge slap in the face to those that studied hard and paid for study groups. Most thought that they would at least go up to 600 off the list. It was said that the superintendent wanted to keep certain individuals from getting promoted, so he tossed the list.
She is a despicable person. Perfect Democrat.
Restitution ? It will never happen. The courts, and they will tell you, are not collectors of debt nor is the probation office. They will not enforce any restitution, at least not in Cook County, if the defendant fails to make the required payments. The victim will have to file a civil suit against the defendant after probation is over. In this case it might be the estate of the deceased victim.

Wrong, I’ve been on since 95; traditionally sergeants lists didn’t get much further than 300 but no more than 350. When it went to over a 1000 is because the department neglected to have a new test in timely manner and the mass exodus of personnel in such a short time and the demand of the consent decree

Commander Kenneth Johnson got a sweetheart deal from federal Judge Manish Shah, an Obama appointee. Johnson got in good with Obama when he ran the security at Obama's Chicago home, so he made a call and VOILA ! NO PRISON TIME!

Yes. How was she not charged federally? Dollar amount is there and she is a judge crating a conflict of interest state wide. Judges are paid by the state. Not the county!
