More Millions Pissed Away

So is the media going to keep a running tally of what CPS/CTU is costing taxpayers like they do for the Police Department?

Or is that just going to be CWB's job?

  • The Chicago Board of Education will vote Wednesday on a proposal to pay $17.5 million to a former CPS student who endured years of grooming and sexual assaults by her high school dean.

If approved by the board, the agreement would resolve a lawsuit filed last year by a former student of Greater Lawndale High School for Social Justice at 3120 South Kostner Avenue in Little Village. The suit accused CPS of ignoring warnings and enabling a culture in which employees repeatedly engaged in sexual misconduct with students.

Remember, at last count, we were told there are over four hundred CPS employees (including teachers, coaches, assistants, janitorial staff, security personnel) who are on some form of suspension for sexual offenses against students. Many are still being paid until the "investigations" are finished....or paid off.

This one just happened to make it out of the holding pattern.

And speaking of holding patterns:

  • A former Chicago Public Schools STEM teacher who admitted taking part in a multimillion-dollar Southwest Airlines voucher scam received a sentence of a year and a day in federal prison on Monday, bringing an official end to a sprawling scheme that prosecutors say drained the airline of nearly $2 million.

Ned Brooks, who taught at Fiske Elementary in West Woodlawn and spent more than two decades working in CPS classrooms, received his sentence after pleading guilty last year to one count of wire fraud.

Who would have thought that schools could be such hotbeds of sexual and financial corruption?

More and more taxpayer dollars are being spent for criminal acts by CPS employees. They have acted outside their duties without authorization of the CPS and therefore should be personally accountable for these cash awards.

Now, on the other hand, if the school staff knew of these acts and did nothing, then those, who acted or did not act outside of their lawful duties, should also be responsible for the cash awards. I'll bet that these evil acts will come to an end. Just my very humble opinion.

Hollywood (and Netflix) has made dozens of dramas and documentaries on the child sex abuse scandals in the Catholic church. Not a peep tho on the same type of scandals in the Chicago public school system. Remember folks these people are pushing to have universal health care. The same type of government employees at CPS will then be working on your loved ones in a state-run hospital or clinic. I can't wait.

Criminal Sexual Assault, Criminal Sexual Abuse and sexual Grooming at the Little Village's own Greater Lawndale of social Justice. Looks like the CPS educator and part time predator teacher Brian Crowder got his own form of "social justice' after a Jury found him guilty and the honorable judge Stanley Sacks sentenced him to 22 years in the pokey. How ironic is it the school he was employed at was a "social justice" academy.

Its long overdue for COPA mechanisms and ambush tactics to be employed in a "civilian" or "independent complaint review civilian oversight for CPS. Every complaint, anonymous or not, needs to be transparent and posted on a website just like a indivisible institute web archives which are a data driven reporting project. Maybe the divisible institute can win additional Pulitzer prizes for exposing sex activities and financial malfeasance in this democratic controlled billion dollar corporation d.b.a. The Chicago Public Schools.

If the settlement is for $17.5 millions, how much do the lawyers earn in legal fees plus the 30% or more of the settlement. If government can regulate the cost of rents and utilities, certainly the government can put a cap on excessive seven figure compensation by the legal profession. As President Obama would say, "You didn't earn that." Victims suffer. Lawyers cash in. A fair and equitable system of justice by lawyers for lawyers.

More money given away and then the fat governor signs a bill yesterday to give illegal criminal children, tuition, and aid to go to college while the citizens are struggling to pay tuition for their children. This guy is nothing but a criminal a man that’s never had a job in his entire life got the money from mommy and daddy‘s investments. A multi billionaire delusional bought the governor’s office and now he will try to be the president of the United States, using mommy and daddy’s money. He’s already destroyed the state as we know along with Brandon totally destroying the city and Tony destroying the county.

The ctu controls the cps. Because the ctu does what it's told to do by the democrats, city, county and state all. The state is ruled by democrats, infesting the executive, legislative and judicial branches of state government, aka, all of state government.

Thus, state of Ill & Noise, Crooked county and Chitty Shitty City Bang Bang.

So, no, as in zero, individual will ever be held accountable by these cabal minions. Not one.

Not within the jurisdiction of this state.

Now, federally, that's a huge stallion of a different color.

Slightly off topic but still within the confines of wasted money - how in gods name do Sgt’s in 376 get so much overtime. There are 24 Sgts at call back for 3 watches. How could there EVET be “staff shortages”. Sprinkle in the 3 Lt’s and 2 Captains and you’ve got a plethora of supervision. I’d love to know if they are swiping. Some of these limited duty, non restricted Sgt’s should be sent back to their district of assignment. What a waste. Who’s running that sh*t show:

A couple concerns here:

1. How did the 3 Little Village HS employees involved in this mess land positions in another school district (U46-Elgin)? Poor vetting by U46 or bad info. sharing by CPS?

"U-46 confirmed Thursday morning that teacher Michael Abeja has been removed while the district conducts an internal review.

NBC 5 Investigates first reported earlier this week that Abeja is one of seven teachers who left Chicago Public Schools amid misconduct allegations. In his case, Chicago Public Schools' Office of Inspector General found the allegations that he groomed a student were substantiated."

https://www.nbcchicago.com/investigations/elgin-places-third-educator-on-leave-following-nbc-5-investigates-report/3752300/

2. Ned Brooks was Fiske Elementary School's tech coordinator and paid a $108K+ teacher salary and he couldn't live off of that?

Did the CPS OIG look into any financial malfeasance in Brooks' role as tech coordinator? Tech coordinators are notorious CPS fraudsters with fake invoices helping them pad their CPS salary. Other sticky finger CPS employees include clerks, athletic directors, coaches, principals, asst. principals, and business operations managers.

NEXT biggest money grab investigation soon to hit the fan is CPS principal avoiding getting their LSCs approvals on budget transfers and internal accounts and spending and stringing money with non-CPS and insider vendors.

Currently, there's an on-going CPS OIG investigation into a Steinmetz College Prep LSC community member Vanessa Valentin voting to approve budget transfers and internal accounts for purchases with her sister's and brother-in-law's printing business, Santana Print aka Santana & Daughter. Plus, Valentin also has been found to not live within Steinmetz' LSC boundary while living by Manley High School, making her ineligible to be on their LSC.

Who's Vanessa Valentin? Valentin is Ald. Gil Villegas' (36th) Chief of Staff.

On other news. The 004th District is pushing around a Santa sleigh filled with officers and multiple squad cars following. Apparently one squad was waived down by a citizen and they were told to call 911?? Why is the department paying officers to dress up like Christmas characters while other officers are actually doing the job they signed up for?

The lawyer takes on the case with little to no deposit down (maybe something for the initial filing), with the understanding that they get 33.33% + actual expenses as compensation for taking that risk, and to act as a zealous advocate for the Client.

Essentially, the lawyer has "skin in the game" in that he's not getting anything unless he wins... All a lawyer has to sell is his time, and once that's used up, he can't get it back to recycle and sell to someone else.

If a client wants to negotiate some other kind of compensation agreement, they're welcome to do so, but rarely do. The IL Cannons of Ethics for Attorneys says that 33.33% is about the max for a percentage-based fee.

My understanding (bc I know someone fired by a school district) is they let them keep their teaching certification as part of a deal in letting them go. They go on to other districts if they want. It’s no excuse for not vetting those people, but unlike police who they literally destroy from getting hired elsewhere- those credentials are all that matters. Shortages is always the excuse. In reality it’s just like what the Catholic Church did with pedo priests- move them to hide them. The difference is the media doesn’t care about these stories and the tax payer foots the bill.
