An illegal immigrant cop who was arrested by federal authorities in October and later released has since been brought back onto the force.
The Hanover Police Department announced Tuesday that it has brought Radule Bojovic, an illegal immigrant from Montenegro, back on as an officer following his release from Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention in October. Bojovic overstayed a B2 tourist visa that required him to leave the United States on March 31, 2015, the Department of Homeland Security said at the time of his arrest.
Still not a citizen, but enforcing the Law on citizens.
Still here illegally on a tourist visa.
Still not able to legally own a gun.
Illinois is broken beyond belief.

He filed an extension for his tourist visa which ICE did not know about. He didn’t lie or deceive and declared everything. I don’t see a problem. If there was one, Hanover PD wouldn’t have hired him. I’m sure he’ll make a fine police officer.
Wasn’t Trump scrutinized many years ago for having a cleaning lady that wasn’t fully legal? I can’t remember exactly was the issue was with her. Then he came out & said that once he found out about, she no longer worked for him. Or was she non-union? I guess the point I’m trying to make is he no longer allowed her to work for him.

Except....unless they truly had a shortage of qualified applicants, he took a spot that someone born and raised in the United States was not hired for. I find it hard to believe there wasn't another highly qualified candidate for that position that was a citizen.
I paid $20-50 per application in 2012 just to sit for the exam. Nothing was guaranteed, not even scoring highest. Needed to test top 15% to be considered. Then there was the initial village fire/police board interview, then the PD command staff interview and finally interview with the Chief. These days not only is the application free for ALL department on theblueline(com) but also the exam is given out online for convenience. In a span of 10 years the job became unbearable. I have never seen so many officers leave my department with 3, 4, 5 years on.

A tourist visa does not allow for employment in the US.
His tourist visa EXPIRED IN 2015. He recently applied for an extension- 10 years after it was expired. Don't play with the facts. He shouldn't be here in this country
From my understanding he is only allowed to carry a firearm while on duty. And no he’s not on-duty/off duty 24/7

I learned a few years before retiring from CPD, you do not have to be a citizen to be a police officer.
I believe CPD had a few non-citizens as officers at the time (2015-ish)
