More SAFE-T Act Failures

Let's check in with CWB and see how Fata$$'s SAFE-T Act is doing lately!

  • A man who twice robbed the same South Side market while he was on electronic monitoring for a pending burglary case has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

Prosecutors said Timothy Bowden, 29, committed both robberies while he was out on “essential movement” privileges granted to people on electronic monitoring under the SAFE-T Act. The program allows two days a week outside the home for approved purposes such as job applications, grocery shopping, and medical appointments. Robbing a store is not considered an essential activity.

Not essential to regular human beings we imagine. Nice to see CWB adding in some well-deserved sarcasm.

Surely this was the only incident though?

  • A seven-time convicted felon who has been non-compliant with court orders in a pending misdemeanor case tried to kill a man with an intellectual disability by pushing him onto the CTA tracks as a Blue Line train was approaching the station, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Tommie O. Carter, 39, has been ignoring a judge’s orders to check in with court officers since being charged in October with trespassing at a Loop building and spitting toward a Chicago police officer who took him into custody, according to court records.

Golly - it's almost a daily occurrence, which would lead intelligent people to conclude the SAFE-T Act is a failure on many levels.

Thank goodness the Parole Board serves as a backstop though!

  • A convicted felon who was paroled in mid-August on a machine gun possession case is now charged with aggravated kidnapping and four armed robberies that occurred just three months after his release, Chicago police said.

Marquis Terry, 21, was released from Illinois Department of Corrections custody on August 14, the same day he arrived, thanks to credits he accrued in the Cook County Jail. On November 19, according to CPD, he was part of a group that carried out four violent robberies in less than 30 minutes across Humboldt Park and Little Village.

Gee whiz. Maybe we need to return to the days of no bail and add in some truth-in-sentencing laws to regain control of the system.

Safety act is a joke. There is nothing safe about it. Its about favoring the criminals.

funny how all these career criminals have no caring family members to help them and put a stop to their criminal activity but as soon as they are shot and killed by their victim or the police the criminal suddenly has about 10 loving and caring "family" members all crying in front of the cameras wearing those made-up t-shirts with his/her name on it and face with angel wings

King Porky the Pig thinks it's unfair that people should be locked up in jail because they can't afford bail. It's okay though if they get out and terrorize more innocent victims.

The failure of the saf t act merely reflects the greater failure of elected officials who put this law in place.
Elected officials who did not educate or objectively seek out advise from prosecutors, cops or experienced judges.
Elected officials who fell in line behind a pompous and arrogant bully of a governor.
This was all Democrat led social legislation which failed and got people killed.
Our crime problem has been created by elected Democrats.
They want you to forget who caused this problem.
Like rats in the dark.
Do not forget,
Vote out every legislator who supported this crap

The utterly incompetent political hack judges in C[r]ook County are the real problem.
They refuse to remand violent criminals to jail after they're arrested.
When they're convicted, it's always after most of the serious charges are dropped & the convictions are for minor felonies.
Then they refuse to sentence them to real time in prison, always making the sentences concurrent, even when the felonies were committed weeks apart.
They also refuse to take into consideration that the sentence will always end up as half of what the actual sentence was, due to the state's insane one day off for one day of what they call "good behavior"!
Even worse is when mail thieves are in state custody, when it should be federal charges & the same for anyone caught with a Glock that's had a switch installed, which makes it an illegal machine gun under the 1934 law outlawing machine guns. Send them away to the federal pen for 25 years for having a machine gun & then that will stop!

Why are machine gun cases not turned over to the fed for prosecution and incarceration. Project exile works, but democrats believe criminals are more important than law abiding citizens.

Oh my! Do you suppose our boss, Larry, broke a lil sweat reading about all that sexual stuff in the schools. I guess you would classify the police Academy as a school. Larry use to brag about his exploits with the "students" Especially the hot ones.

The Safe-T-Act is to keep the criminal safe from arrest and consequence.

Maybe the virtue signaling has been inadequate from the Marxtards?
How about tripling up the ankle monitors?
Make 'em cut off 15 or more.
Then, make them wear a couple awareness bracelets for good measure.

Some mutts belong behind bars permanently as they are habitual criminals. They’ll never change. Lock them up.
