Business Trip Failed?
Remember this from October of 2024?
Mayor Brandon Johnson's trip to London is officially underway.
The mayor said he is making the trip to try and woo businesses to come to Chicago.
"I'm going to London to try to attract business to Chicago," Johnson said a press conference earlier this week.
The trip, paid for by World Business Chicago, also includes taking in Sunday's game between the Bears and Jacksonville at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
He took how many dozens of staff and bodyguards along?
Now, remember this from our post yesterday?
Chicago businesses reported the lowest recorded employment score since May 2009, according to the Chicago Business Barometer.
For the second consecutive month, no survey respondents reported increased employment.
The analysis gave Chicago an overall score of 43.5 in December 2025, the 25th consecutive month of decline. A score below 50 indicates decline.
So it's safe to say Conehead's "business trip" didn't generate a damn thing for Chicago except to spend more taxpayer money....money that doesn't exist or that has to be "raised" from increasing taxes. Again.
Thanks to the reader who left a comment about this - we had forgotten "the business trip that generated no business."

Voters have short memories. Hopefully Brandon doesn’t run again. He has no chance.
It was a cover to afford the bears game in London. CTU taught him all he knows about spending other people’s money to cover your vacations.
That was no business trip. It was a junket. Everyone who attended should have personal leave time deducted and receive paper in their personnel file.
Maybe someone intelligent should have spearheaded that trip.
His next trip should be to Tehran to study and practice violence interruption.
Lets face it, BJ only went there for a taxpayer paid vacation, nothing more, nothing less...its all a cover up! Was he going to be out in the parking lot at the Bears game trying to draw up business?? BJ is a complete fucking moron, what else do you expect when you vote for someone who was involved in CPS???

His changes and policies are finally getting the credit they deserve. Crime is down, Kids are doing better in school and businesses are flocking to Chicago now I think he will be reelected when next election comes around after these facts will presented to the people. He’s got my vote for sure

He’s got my vote also. He had a real shit storm to deal with from the past mayors and has done a great job. I can only imagine how much better it will be when all his policies are in place

Here is an easy fix.
Demand to see the numbers for the Mayor's detail. See that he has over 150 officers. Also ask for the total overtime used for 2025 for units 542 and 544; the units that make up the Mayor's massive detail.
Imagine if the Mayor freed up 100 Officers to work CTA! He would still have a massive detail of 50 Officers.
Lets take a look again at Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson’s protection detail of 150 Police Officers!
YES, while assigning more officers to CTA would have a significant impact on public safety, Brandon Johnson hoards over 150 officers.
Unit 542 has approximately 40 Officers, 4 Sergeants and Lieutenant assigned; increased from Lightfoot's detail.
They are divided into two teams for coverage.
When the mayor moves, approximately 10 officers move with him.
Another Officer is assigned to his wife and several others assigned to his kids. Normal assignments
He still has one covert car from intelligence that intermittently follows him when he is on the move to see if he is being followed. That was a holdover from Lightfoot.
Then there is Unit 544:
This unit now has approximately 110 officers and 6 sergeants and a Lieutenant.
This unit is used to protect his house and city hall.
His house alone has approximately 14 officers on duty 24/7.
2 cars in front of his house (2 officers in each car)
2 cars behind his house (2 officers in each car)
3 cars roaming around his house (2 officers in each car)
He also has 1 to 3 SWAT S.O.R.T. cars within a block of his house at all times. SWAT officers work their days off to fill these cars 24/7.
These Officers sit on his house even when he is out of town.
These 2 units are overseen by 1 Commander and 2 Lieutenant
Mayor Emmanual had 16 Officers and 1 Commander for his entire detail.
Mayor Daley had 21 Officers and 2 Commanders for his detail.
Lets not forget the massive amount of overtime his unit consumes while they are cutting back on OT for Officers to protect the community.

Someone should whisper in his ear that a drone could easily drop something on his house.
This junket is funny. I was in London recently and in talking to random locals whenever I mentioned I was from Chicago they expressed sympathies - unprompted by me - about the crime and our mayor. I'm sure the mayor will be received politely but if random Londoners have this view I imagine the business community there will be even more skeptical.
