But has the Slum Times thought about this interpretation of facts on the ground?
- After Hundreds of Extra Officials in Uniform on the Street along with Many Hundreds of Traffic Stops, Arrests, Detentions and Deportations of Criminals, Crime Drops
Completely plausible....probable even. Criminals go to where Law Enforcement isn't - even if the law enforcement isn't local.
But did anyone expect the Slum times to be even handed?

1,2, or 3 years should never be mistaken for a long term trend. From a humanitarian standpoint, even 1 less murder than a previous year is a win…..for THAT 1 persons family. It’s easy to see why politicians play down bigger numbers and take public victory laps for lower numbers. The politicians job is up for renewal every 4 years.
So, in Chicago it averages out to just over 1 murder EACH day of the year. And just over 4 people shot EACH day of the year. These may be good big city numbers, but it’s still no way to live.
I was speaking to a friend in Georgia. I said, everyone that has lived their entire life in Chicago KNOWS someone that has been shot. Maybe firsthand, maybe a family member, maybe a work or social acquaintance. And when the shooting results in death……those relationships are forever changed.
Another interesting and way of interpreting so you struggle to send your children to school you can’t get the money to help but over here the illegal criminals in this corruption field state starting January 1, 2026. They’re gonna get tuition that’s free or close to free for all the colleges. Federal government stop giving the money but yet we don’t have money. The biggest reason why homicides are lower now, isn't because the animals are shooting less, its cell phones and improved medical care. If we removed both of those things, the Homie-cide rate would much higher. The metric to look at is how many people are shot each year, that is the true statistic which will show the level of deadly violence in this toilet of a city.

Now look at property crimes. and violent crimes on mass transportation. Crimes against senior citizens downtown. Crimes downgraded from Agg Batt to simple battery. Didn't we have gunfire at the airports recently? And don't dare to include the crimes of shoplifting which doesn't even get reported fully anymore.
If you look at the quality-of-life crimes, we are living in another blue shithole and are circling the drain at an ever-increasing rate.

As a former newsman, who has written my share of headlines (in actual print newspapers, with space restraints— a real skill) that one from the Scum-Times is journalistically questionable and tacky. It sounds like “NYAH NYAH STUPID!” It makes them look like they live to attack Trump (which they do). It’s another sign that they don’t even bother with a pretense of objectivity or fairness.
It conveys a celebratory tone that really is not warranted. I mean, 433 homicides isn’t as bad as many years, but it’s not exactly good.
The whole context of Trump, NG etc., might be relevant context to mention somewhere in the story, but isn’t the main thing and shouldn’t be in the headline.
It’s a good thing a lot of these idiots don’t know how to aim, otherwise the numbers would be much higher.
Imagine our numbers today if we still had the medical technology of 1965………….
