How many future crimes did this deter - suburban or Chicago?
A teen boy was shot and killed after allegedly trying to rob another teen Wednesday afternoon in Cicero, town officials said.
Two teens met for a marketplace sale that began on social media about 3:20 p.m. in the 1300-block of South 58th Avenue, officials said.
The sale did not take place, and as the teen selling the item walked away, the other teen approached him and began to struggle with him over the item, officials said.
A relative of the teen who owned the item got out of a nearby vehicle and was shot twice by the alleged robber, officials said. The relative, who also had a gun, said he returned fire, hitting the robber once.
Based on trends and history, we'd say this prevented at least half-a-dozen, maybe as many as ten future robberies/shootings in Cook County by this individual alone in 2026.
If any of his friends were paying attention, maybe they learned a valuable lesson and might not attempt something similar, meaning the number of prevented crimes will increase exponentially.
Imagine this happening on the CTA or downtown. It warms our cold dark heart.

How long until marketplace gets sued for not preventing "gun" violence??
Im my wifes full time marketplace object collector. Go pick this up for me. For all I know she could be setting me up for something.
Great endings to that story.
Another one bites the dust! Who cares? Not me. Keep the line moving.

4 out of 5 violence interrupters would agree but when single armed carjacking offenders were confronted by conceal and carry drivers they simply increased the number of armed demonized passengers to overwhelm and neutralize their victims.
Graduation picture will soon become public along with crying mother. Funny how there is never a father around until there is cash on the line.
Does Cicero PD have a ghoul pool?
More as in way more
That poor boy that passed away probably never had a chance at a good life
I love a happy ending story for this criminal!
Statistically, robbers killed in the commission of their crime don't reoffend, but in Crook County they still vote, so this needs additional investigation and analysis...
One less
mutt.
Just another day in the Windy city.
Next question.
Atta Boy

Wait, I think Im shedding a tear...NOPE, sorry. Good riddance to another POS!
Loren Maltese always says "Forgetaboutit."

Never met anyone named Angel who was an angel.
I agree!! Too many haters that don’t understand that not everyone can have two parents to take care of them and give them the things they need in life
Cicero. Where the Police can still be the POLICE!
If you go to a marketplace/Craigslist sale thats not a public place, and go unarmed, you're taking a big chance. I refuse to go to any sales in areas that I know are frequented by individuals of a certain persuasion. Sorry, call me racist, like I care.
Sadly, not anymore with that knucklehead Boyle as the Supt. He's single handedly screwed that PD up, to the point they are about 50-60 coppers short. Now, the town next door is doing it right.
