Anyone Want This Job?

This might explain part of the reason we have so many crooked, incompetent and unqualified judges on the bench here:

  • On paper, Cook County circuit judge is a great job. They make $258,000 a year, hold extraordinary power, and almost never get fired or even disciplined.

But fewer and fewer attorneys are seeking the post.

For the second straight judicial primary election, less than half of the seats up for grabs March 17 drew more than one candidate, continuing a decadeslong slide in competition. Observers have cited factors including the cost of campaigning, increased public scrutiny on judicial elections, and a Democratic Party that dominates local politics and discourages competition against its chosen candidates.

So few people want a job that pays over a quarter-million a year?

That's how you end up with candidates like this:

  • All four vacancies in the 13th subcircuit — which covers the far Northwest suburbs — are uncontested. The candidate for one of those seats is Brittany Michelle Pedersen, who has been charged with driving under the influence three times, though one case was dismissed and two were reduced to reckless driving. Pedersen ran unsuccessfully for judge in Kane County in 2020 and 2022, receiving negative ratings from the Illinois State Bar Association, before moving in with her mother in Cook County and running again.

She told Injustice Watch, “I believe that people deserve second chances, and third chances, and maybe sometimes a fourth.”

If that's what she thinks for after racking up three DUI arrests for herself, imagine what she'd be releasing back onto the streets.

Or like the incompetent Tyria Walton leveling accusations that she was threatened by CPD Officers, but never filed a complaint, nor registered the threat with Cook County Sheriffs Protective Detail and somehow coerced the FOP president to remain silent after this egregious slander.

Vote "NO" on all judges all the time.

Lawyer here....

No one runs because you need to spend quarter mllion.

Then you have to fight slated candidate.

Slated candidate will give 100k to party for stating. If you lose, they make you an associate judge.

Almost the same salary.

Pederson was knocked up by Richard Irvin, former Aurora Mayor and unsuccessful Governor candidate in Illinois. She had twins which Irvin put on city health insurance. She’s nuts and Irvin is a RINO.

If you vote “No” on all judges, you risk getting rid of the fair and decent ones as well. Don’t be lazy – do your homework and then vote!

Again, completely ignorant comment from someone who probably was never a Detective or barely ever went to court. Not every Judge is perfect. But, there are those Judges that when a Police Officer is shot, injured, etc, they pickup the phone in the middle of the night for that search warrant. And there are only a handful of Judges that do that for the hundreds of officers out there. There are also those Judges that listen to the evidence , and gives us the benefit of the doubt vs injecting that political BS or their hatred for Police in their rulings. No Judge is perfect. But if there is a Prosecutor Judge going up against a Public Defender Judge on the ballot, I’m voting for the Prosecutor Judge. Chiampas, Petrone, Murphy, Coleman, Reyna, Slattery-Boyle, Cuyler-Sherman, Goldish, Daly, etc…

I've said this for years. There is a vacuum that exists in our society right now. Political (and judicial) positions have been so corrupted that no decent and honest men will run for the position. More and more evil will assume power in the coming global superstorm. The "Quickening" is upon us...The scamdemic truly showed us that all the wrong people are in charge everywhere...May G-d help us...

I live in the 19th Ward and was approached by a guy I knew through others with a petition so he could run for CC judge which I signed. Saw him a month or so later and asked him how things were going. He said he was told that it wasn't his turn yet and to wait. Sure enough 3 years or so later he got his ticket punched. This is all staged and set up for the "right" people to win.

One advantage of being a Cook County judge is the personal security must be pretty good, since you never hear of them becoming crime victims. Either that, or they make sure never to do anything to get the criminals mad at them.

They are victims all the time. I’ve handled atleast 5 myself. They just advertise them unless high profile. And there is a Cook County unit that handles their security.

There are some decent judges out there and if you’ve ever been to court or done a search warrant you would know this. By all means, vote No on the crappy ones but if you can’t bother to find out who the decent ones are, you are just another uninformed voter.

With FatAzz and his minions of corrupted politicians making downright dangerous rules and laws down there in Springfield, it ties the hands of judges who, even if they WANT to do the right and moral thing in a court case, are basically denied that opportunity. It all starts at the top. And right now, that’s FatAzz and his supporters who have control. That’s WHO needs to be voted out.

Those rules and laws are not as restrictive as you think they are. The judges have discretion, but those who want to let criminals off with no accountability just use those rules as an excuse to not detain them.
