Happy St Paddy's Weekend
Two people were hospitalized after a stabbing in a CTA station in Chicago's Loop on Saturday evening, just hours after thousands were downtown for St. Patrick's Day celebrations.
Around 8 p.m., after an earlier physical fight with a woman on the CTA platform at the Clark/Lake station, a 43-year-old woman and 23-year-old woman boarded a train. The woman also boarded the train and a second fight began, during which the 42-year-old and 23-year-old women were both stabbed in their arm and hand, the Chicago Fire Department said.
The two women who were stabbed were taken to a local hospital, CFD said. They are both listed in good condition. The woman who stabbed them was taken into custody, authorities said. The investigation remains ongoing.
We'll just assume the overtime high-visibility initiative hasn't begun yet?

So a certain demographic can smoke weed, rob, and steal all over downtown. But if another demographic brings jugs of alcohol downtown they get stopped and harassed.
Public transit is a nightmare in Chicago. There should be riding at your own risk signs at the entrance to CTA.
Another reason to get hammered and pass out in the middle of Adams and Michigan Avenue.
I disagree. We are protecting people that actually do not have criminal histories.
Bigger problems than manpower for CTA. The CPD had 13353 sworn members in 2019. As of January of this year that number is 11550. In patrol we have 7962 code 9161 and another 352 FTO's.

I hope scc will comment on this additional stabbing case. CWB is reporting that a "London" man attempted to slash the throat of an Amtrak passenger at Union Station on March 3rd. Based on the offender's name, could this have been another Muslim terror attack on US soil following US action on Iran?
