Sergeant Wounded Overnight
Very minimal reporting so far, but sounds like the sergeant will be okay:
A Chicago police sergeant was shot on the city's Far South Side Saturday night, CPD said. The shooting took place at about 11:11 pm. In the 11200-block of South Corliss Avenue.
Police said the sergeant was in a marked patrol car when the sergeant was struck in the leg by gunfire. The sergeant was able to transport himself to the hospital, where they were listed in good condition, police said.
A suspect was taken into custody and a weapon was recovered, police said. Area detectives are investigating.
Speedy recovery wished to the Sergeant.
UPDATE: to the unpublished moron - the italicized article stating "himself" and "they" was the media report, not us. Take it up with them misgendering and mis-pronouning the sergeant. Then go play in traffic.

Glad to hear the good Sergeant is in good condition and the offender is in custody with a weapon recovered. Time to go see Doctor Summeroff.
So in 011 on Saturday, zone calling out officer shot, but can't get a good location. Info coming in was slow and sketchy, outcome was, not a bonfire incident. Was a house mouse car so not surprising, but still very strange. Like the days of AZ, 11dubs, calling in a chase and shots fired. Anyone got the scoop.

The guy who shot the sergeant had just gotten into an argument with his 63-year-old mother, then shot her several times. He then left the residence and randomly fired at the CPD sergeant. This according to the X or Twitter guy who chases crime all over the city.

Just fyi it was a female sgt and a female off duty that was shot. Sgt was grazed in the leg and the off duty was shot in the thigh and the bullet traveled to her rectum. She had emergency surgery and is doing okay. The offender in the sgt’s shooting admitted to being a black panther.
