Is There no End to the Stupid?
You got proposals to tax and serialize ammunition.
You got a moron proposing to outlaw one of the better tools for tracking down murderers with facial recognition.
There's allegedly a pilot program in the works to mail out tickets for loud mufflers (we don't mind this one much).
And now, there's this (we didn't write these paragraphs, so save grammatical criticisms):
- If you get two speeding tickets or more, Starting Jan 1, 2028, you will
be required to have a speed limiting/tracking device in your car and
truck under a new law proposed by Illinois Democrats.This device, known as an Intelligent Speed Assistant device (ISA) would have to be in your car or truck for three years under the new law. Plus pay $30.00 a month “monitoring fee” to the state.Illinois Democrat Martha Dueter has introduced HB 4948 that mandates drivers with two qualifying speeding or reckless driving offenses within 12 months face license suspension until they install an approved active ISA device. They must remain in the program for 1–3 years, data limits, and penalties for violations. The program would begin January 1, 2028.Note: These devices often include GPS sensors that immediately notify authorities if speed is exceeded. In addition, your location could be tracked by the state of Illinois.
The constitutional obstacles in this one are extensive, along with the enforcement impossibilities.

Gee & how many people of a certain area & race (I'm only guessing here) who already don't adhere to the rule of law will actually participate once found guilty?? Even when the light is green I don't just drive through ANY intersection in the shitty of Shitcago I have seen cars, work vehicles & even motorcycles just blow through them intersections because they have a 5 year old temp plate that has been handed down from scumbag to scumbag for years. Now that the CPD can't make traffic stops for no plates, expired plates, no lights on etc. why would these mutts have insurance. Think Allstate will do a commercial W/ "mayhem" I can see it now. I'm a gangbanger on the West side I have both active traffic & criminal warrants for my arrest. I don't even have a license cause it was revoked. Now if you get in an accident with me your insurance is going to go through the roof because I won't be held liable. Get Allstate where the uninsured & unlicensed insurance will cost you more than most Demorats cost Illinois citizens who have a license & insurance in annual taxes.

The loud exhaust one I’m not fan of either. One, because fuck this city, two, how many people in this city have old hot rods they take out to shows and on the weekends? A lot, and these old 50+ year old muscle cars are often times not quiet. Cmon, fuck out of here with this nonsense.
IL's future digital license plates will likely make this HB moot.

IM sure the GPS devices will work just as good as EM monitoring. They just want the money regardless of the device working or not.
This won't last long, wait until a few suburban, large SUV driving, AWFLs get tickets because they're late for car pool, then this will stop.

Cuz they not be driving their personally owned vehicles- so who gets the tickets, the fines, the speed monitor thingy? The owner who had his car taken? Carjacked? More insult to injury to taxpayers? Just looked, these units are mandatory since 2022 in Europe, now you know where the dumb azz idea came from. It seems the unit is at least $1300 for retro fit, plus monthly.
This goes with the new cars all going to have breathalyzers and cameras pointed at driver to detect drowsy or impaired.
Mercedes sprinter has a changeable digital display for different metrics, mph, mpg, fuel use, etc, after 3 hrs it displays a cup of java saying take a break. You have to stop put in park it resets and the other displays are available again.
You can't despise Europe enough.
When states like Illinois chase the high paying taxpayers away they come after the low paying taxpayers. This means YOU.

Democrats in general are big on forcing people to buy something, then not enforcing the rules they impose on certain demographics. Remember how Obamacare was supposed to get everyone covered by health insurance by forcing people either to buy or pay an annual tax? How many "disenfranchised" folks who actually have a job have ever paid that tax?? It will be the same with this new law - palefaces will be paying for the equipment and the monthly monitoring fees, while "others" will skate.
When you are in the Government Business, the answer is always more government.

Do you even live in the city? It's not a "Boomer" driving his muscle car to the car show & BBQ in the burbs at 2am on a Wednesday up and down Ashland Ave or the like waking an entire neighbohoods up.
To avoid ticketing the old hotrods they can just screen out/cancel the tickets with AV plate registration. This might also incentive people to stop circumventing AV registration
