Leave her alone. At least she had the dire to dry fire. Most people on this job only upholstery thier weapon once a year to qualify. Ya ya ya she should been on a range. But she was in an isolated area and she was obviously pointing her weapon in a safe direction bc no one got hit. I'll take her over some lazy POS who would never think of dry firing. Hate to say this, but, did you shoot at your image in the mirror as a part of your suicidal ideation? I've worked in many districts pock marked by accidental discharges. None in the mirror. Locker yes. Wall yes. Duct Work yes. Ceiling yes. Floor yes. Bathroom divider yes. Even a beat car, but that might not have been an accident!

This is ridiculous. Rule #1 of firearm safety: never point that gun unless you are going to shoot.
Do not play around with your firearm. You want to practice? Fine, then have your dry fire protocol set up and do it with snap caps. Or practice at the range.
Why is it that whenever I want to practice shooting at the area range, they are usually closed? Or I go in and they tell me "sorry we have a scheduled class today"?.
What ranges are open for us to practice?

Getting a desk spot is the best job in the department. You get to workout while at work. You go home 1-3 hours early. You get to watch movies at work. You complain all day long about how CPD sucks even though you got it made.

A lot of people are scrambling around now that the range is finally doing their job. Half of the people I qualified with failed. One guy wasn’t even hitting the paper.. pretty insane.

The PSTC is open all watches. Since prescribed quals are going on right now and reshoots being conducted on the other range yes its busy. But half of 6 months the range is open. Just call ahead. Plenty of people practice and sign in ay the range.
