Speaking of firehouse gates... The several firehouses I have been to all have gates. Here is the kicker... the gates might prevent someone from climbing over, but you can still slide under the swinging gate. The gates are so cars do not get stolen, not to prevent break ins. Check it out, I know of quite a few on the southside.

Yes it is. All the stations should have at least one person assigned to the parking lots and another person assigned to the outer perimeter at all times. But no one takes station security seriously. Look what happened in the old 007 / TRU parking lot. We are all expendable on this job.

Watch secretary on first watch used to put herself and her friends she wanted to keep inside as "station security" on the sheets in 001. I trust she does hourly patrols in the parking lot.

The station security issues are another example of the stupidity, ineptness, lack of leadership and planning on the HQ and command staff. Being over 2500 officers short doesn't help either. It does help Conehead, Democrat Socialists, illegal aliens and liberals, along with the media whores,
in their efforts to defund and destabilize the police. Public safety, civil order and our own safety are at risk. It appears this is what the voting public wants and deserves. Do the basics for calls for service, watch your 6 and anything more is on you.

Fences high enough to discourage someone climbing it? First we have doctors without borders. Now we have firehouses with border and migrant like containment border fences. I.C.E. would be proud of the firemens using high fences to keep their world safe from foreign criminal intruders.
The firemen should feed this guy and he would leave them alone. The axeman obviously has fireman envy after learning of inequities in overnight housing, food sustenance and employment benefits. The axemen is just raising the awareness of past injustices and inequities which has driven him to subtle outbursts with the goal of social, enviro-"mental" and economic justice. His awareness is non violent in nature resulting in zero injuries and just potentially criminal justice involved property-only related crimes which does not rise up to the level of incarceration or institutionalization.

When I was 18 yrs old I worked summers for streets and San asphalt and parked my piece of equipment at the firehouse at 62nd pl and Dorchester. They had a pool there and the Yates would rob the place blind when they were out on a call. They got the meanest scariest black German Shepard I have ever seen to reside unchained in the house. With the door open nobody could get anywhere near him. If they were out on a long call I would be very late getting to my location. The Yates were not amused lol

Station security is a waste especially on 3rd watch and midnights. They don’t do anything. One person being there isn’t going to change a thing and everyone knows she won’t be walking around the perimeter or confronting anyone
Go to the very bottom of the fire/arson incident order. It says its the field supervisor's job to make sure fire department buildings are secure when fire people are on jobs. Merit sergeants probably never read the order though.
