More Oversight Nonsense
So....what exactly are her qualifications?
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has chosen Anjanette Young to sit on an oversight board for the city’s police department.
The update comes years after officers once handcuffed Young while she was naked, during a botched police raid in 2019.
The footage was made public in 2020.
As a result of the botched raid, the city later paid nearly $3 million to resolve a lawsuit Young filed against the city of Chicago.
Is this a paid position? Because you know that there isn't a single aldercreature with the balls to actually oppose this appointment or hiring based on any actual qualifications. Being the victim of a mistake doesn't make you any sort of expert on police work, oversight or legalities.
This is a political move.

The saddest part of this whole story is the fact that she will NEVER have an opinion that isn't negative towards the police. She was wronged & now she has been given the ability to harm not just be negative but to harm the police & no one gives a shi@! Not one person who could stand up & say this is wrong will sit in that seat as if they were backing Charles Manson instead of hardworking men & women. Was she terrorized and humiliated by police by their search warrant raid on her apartment which was flawed from the start because of their shoddy and incompetent investigation. The answer is yes, and because of them the City paid her 3 million dollars of the taxpayer’s money. The amount can be debated but she deserved some form of restitution for what she went through.
Should she be on an oversight board overseeing COPA? Definitely not, as what she went through may influence decisions on investigations of police officer’s cases. She may be a great social worker but she has no experience in law enforcement investigations. And yes this is a political move by BLM Brandon to please a certain segment of the electorate. It’s a bad move by him that will cause a great deal of consternation to the police officers in the City. The smart thing to do would go outside of Chicago politics and find someone who is neutral with a background in law enforcement.
And I’m 100% sure she would never be bias and against the Police seeing her history… but sure. Put her on an oversight board. This dude is a fuckin tool.

Ironically, the department is PUSHING for more search warrants to be done. They’ve held mandatory classes with the hopes of having more coppers become affiants on search warrants. If you feel the need to be an affiant for a search warrant please go seek some mental health treatment. Remember that this job fired a sergeant and punished numerous coppers with hefty suspensions for acting in good faith while executing a search warrant.

The real F’d up part of this is the real story that never made it out about this whole thing. Seems like a setup by Talley, who is best friends with a one Anjanette Young. The John Doe for the “botched” search warrant was the criminal nieces boyfriend. The rumor was Talley was the one pushing for discipline on the case and is it any wonder that her best friend (from highschool) stood to benefit from it all. Anyone got the photos from Talley’s promotion party to 1st Deputy? In it you will find a photo of her and her friend Anjanette Young. What they did to the sergeant and officers involved was a railroad job. Was it orchestrated by Talley and her minions? Did she have knowledge of all of it and place her finger on the BIA scales? These are questions that should be answered, but likely won’t.

Not necessarily. not everyone who was mistreated by the Police will have an axe to grind. many of us well realize how difficult a job you folks have. But it can tend to make a citizen much more cautious when interacting with you. As a law abiding citizen who has had traffic and other interactions with you folks where you were being less than honest, I KNOW!

Everyone should re read this comment 10 times. If u are still doing a search warrant, after knowing what happened with that young one, you truly need to talk to a professional. The smallest, slightest thing goes wrong and you will lose your job and maybe your freedom. Is that worth it?

It was a long while before I retired when I participated in my last search warrants. The two I recall both resulted in complaints & lawsuits. They will sue- no matter if good or bad. The tide was changing just about then and I can honestly say, I have no idea why anyone would do them now. Its awful because that's part of your job. It's basically just part of the plan, to let a certain portion of the population to act criminally with impunity.
What's next hiring "Whitley" as head of Dept of Fleet Management?
I guess that $3 million is already gone.
