A 16-year-old boy on probation for a gun case, with two more firearm arrests in his background, chased down and killed a Brighton Park man on a neighborhood street last autumn, prosecutors said Tuesday.
Ayden Reynolds is charged as an adult with first-degree murder in the October 6, 2025, killing of 33-year-old Alan Maldonado. Judge James Costello ordered him detained.
Three gun arrests by the age sixteen, and those are only the times he was actually caught with a gun. How many hundreds of times was he packing and got away with it? CWB has most of his juvie record and it's impressive for all the wrong reasons.

Proving once again that they have no actual interest in stopping what they call, “gun violence.” You can also argue that had the courts taken more aggressive action sooner, they might have been able to save this kid, and prevented this murder.

Because this kind of thing happens WAY more often that you realize. I remember years ago at O'Hare some grandpa was held by customs for trying to bring a freshly slaughtered lamb in his luggage from Greece. Got caught cuz blood was noticed dripping from the bag.
Told the lamb would be confiscated, he was absolutely irate, insisting [thru a translator] that the officers just wanted to steal it for themselves. Ended up unzipping his fly and pissing all over the carcass to render it "inedible".
Don't recall if that one ever made the news either.
