Facial Recognition Works Again

Remember, democrats want to forbid police from using this tool:

  • The gunman who shot and nearly killed a downtown convenience store clerk last month was identified through facial recognition technology linked to the Illinois Secretary of State database, prosecutors said Thursday. It’s the latest case solved using the technology, even as state lawmakers move to bar Illinois law enforcement from using it.

The 31-year-old victim had worked at 7-Eleven, 191 West Adams Street, for about six years when Jaquell Hayes, 30, entered the store on March 12 and began stealing over-the-counter medication, prosecutors said. The cashier intervened, and Hayes allegedly threatened him before leaving. Hayes returned the next day and threatened the clerk while reaching toward his waistband, prompting the victim to tell him to leave, prosecutors said. When Hayes refused, the clerk used bear spray in an attempt to defend himself, something he had never done before. Hayes exited the store.

The clerk moved from behind the register to lock the revolving glass doors to keep Hayes from reentering. As he approached the entrance, he saw Hayes standing directly outside the door, pulling out a handgun and firing multiple shots through the glass door, according to prosecutors.

And without it, another shooting might have gone unsolved.

OT. was working CTA today and ran into a goof from 050. I’ve read about him on the blog about head butting an officer in 018. We were working the blue line and yes he’s an idiot. Thinks he knows everything, weights 139 lbs wet but was talking tough. He even got into an argument with another officer. Seems he has anger management issues. Anyone working Cta stay away form this idiot. A .A. will only get you a cr if you wind up working with him. Guess I’ll just work a different watch now. You have been warned

7-Eleven says it's closing 645 US stores in the next year

The fiscal year, which runs between March 1 and February 28, 2027, will see the company’s store footprint shrink for the fifth year in a row.

Funny thing - you steal and steal and steal and harass and motherf*** customers and send 100 at a time in on "takeovers" and drag out a stolen pistol and shoot all the glass out of the place...until one morning the store just closes.

Must be racism, huh?

It works and that’s why the Democrats don’t want it used. The Democrats run cover for the criminals.

And it’s the Democratic Party that wants to ban FR from the police toolbox. Unbelievable. When will the voters realize that the Democratic Party is working against them and is protecting criminals?

Why let another man live in your head rent free? You essentially lost all your frame to a man the size of a high school teenager. Pay this clown no attention and just collect your checks. What's this world come to be.....

Went on a Caribbean cruise in February, I have GLOBAL ENTRY and TSA pre-check. Facial recognition allowed me to clear customs in Miami in 10 seconds. Anyone rejecting this technology need to be questioned as to what their real motivation is given how accurate and efficient it is

Pre COVID there were at least 4 different 7-11 within easy walking distance of the office, clustered within a 1/2 mile radius. There's no one down there now...

They're closing because their franchise owners are getting deported. They are brought here from horrid countries and given $100k plus investments to start/manage a store. Many run 2 credit card scanners: one for the real profit and the other to skim from the top. They pay back the $100k plus, then keep scamming. The $100k plus, is given to the next illegal.

The feral theft is 1/2 the problem. The other set of books is the other 1/2.

Facial recognition works again! How about a winning idea for democrats in control. Lets have all forms of identification for public assistance (Link, Medicaid, SSI, Snap) contain a digital picture from one of those digital facial recognition cameras. Not only will this identify and deter assistance fraud via facial recognition audits with unique identifiers, but the photo and accompanying documentation can be verified and private sector validated like a REAL ID with the credit bureaus and the risk mitigation companies such as Lexis Nexis. Public safety is a paramount issue democrat needs to deceive voters and make their platforms appear more center than their everyday extremely left practices to win elections.

Include photos from CityKey ID cards and supporting documentation into the facial recognition database because The Office of Immigrant, Migrant, and Refugee Rights (IMRR) is part of the City of Chicago’s commitment to inclusion, equity, and social justice. Who doesn't want their photo in a database which promotes public safety? And photos contained on public assistance benefit cards is a win-win for those democrat voters who don't have photo identification for voting purposes. Or just get the free stuff giveaways with the CityKey photo identification card benefits. Check out the city website and identify the bias, federal immigration lawbreaking collusion and diversity on their non-inclusionary multicultural "our team" tab on the city government website.

I work at Ohare 3 rd watch. We are all sick of him No it’s not bullshit. AA attacked another officer in 018 working VRI, he was working with JM from ohare when the headbutting incident happened. He got a 7 day suspension. Then later attacked another officer and stated to the whole roll call while I was there, fuck him when I retire in two years I’m gonna fuck him up, and in front of the Sgt, and in front of the whole roll call . Sgt did nothing about it.

No it’s not bs AA has issues and that’s why they removed him off the wagon. He has anger issues.

Am retired and live in China part of the year in the wife’s hometown. They have facial recognition technology here and cameras everywhere. It’s the safest place I’ve ever been. Oh, but they throw criminals in jail here too. The part of the year that I really look forward to is coming back to Chicago to see family and friends, oh and constantly look over my shoulder and spend a fortune on incidentals.
