Oh, the seller?
- Convicted Aldercreature Ed Burke
We don't know if he's hurting for money or is moving out of town.
There aren't too many comparables for the neighborhood because the building is so out of place for West Elsdon. The eight-foot brick fence around the yard is a plus if you don't like talking to the neighbors.

"the property offers convenient access to I-55, I-90/94, and I-294" . . Ya know, just in case you gotta get outta town FAST for some reason.
That house got zoning permission to be so close to the front sidewalk. Wonder if they will let the new owners keep it that way.
what another excon leaving the city. where are we going to get Democrat replacement votes. oh yeah, never mind, I forgot that we own the machines.
Backside of Curie High School ?
I remember being forced to sit on the “Burke detail.” Countless days watching his pet cops cover the wife with an umbrella, pick/drop off kids & grocery shop! Lord I hated it & the prick never said thanks But you better not go take a piss without face to face relief!
I’m sure city contractors built it for favors & he probably got the lots tax free! CONiticians…
I guessed who seller was.
He is leaving town.
Bys.
For a new building from 2005 it has the look of an apartment/condo building converted into a single residence. And of course the tracks are the backyard. I’m sure he bought that shit triangle piece of land for next to nothing. Nice to see Chicago/state politicians serve time in the slammer, even if it’s only the country club.
Sounds better then the "God Father's house"....
Poor taste in colors in the interior. Sure, favor the red tones.
Prolly cost another $1.5M to get all the (D) cooties removed.
Had a neighbor that worked in the trades on.city and county buildings. His boss sent him over to do work on Burkes house frequently for free in order to keep those contracts.
It is a very nice crib, but even if I had $1.5 million, living at 51st & Pulaski gets a hard NO!
Burke, the troll of city hall must have used a lot of favors to strong arm the building of this palace.
You know he was too cheap to use the cash from all those envelopes he collected at Christmas every year.
The house has zero wall tiles in the bathroom’s. Some custom stuff, if it’s within your taste or style.
He no longer has to live in the Ward he once ran. As a retired Aldermen and a convicted felon he doesn’t need a 12 Ward address anymore.
More like a dictator’s fortress than a home. That’s a lot of money. From the roof he would toast the area he ran.
Politicians at every level in this country are ripping off tax payers for their own greed. They don't care about the cities or states they serve. They only care about the power and wealth they can create for themselves. The majority of them need to be hung in a public square for the treson they have committed against their own constituents. Our Founding Fathers are weeping in their graves.
All the square footage in all the world doesn’t change what he is-a shanty town thief. It’s an utter disgrace that he has a retirement star.
His prior house at 4946 S Campbell is still for sale and has been so for a long time now. I guess no one wants that bad Burke mojo
It's always nice when the local alderman lives amongst the peasants.
But but but no borders!
As soon as I read it, I knew it was Burke's place.
Except in the rear are railroad tracks & the Midway L Line.
And it won't get plowed in the winter the way it used to, because he ain't in charge anymore & if you look at it on Google Street View, it's flat out ugly!
Perfect crib for some dope dealer
Instagram this out - great house for a really huge rave! Like, uh.
I know some people that would pay 1.5 to leave that shithole city.
I'll bet JaMal is crying cause he didn't get the listing for his GenGreen scam.
Does He even have a realtor/broker license cause the state doesn't show one for him.
How much for annual property taxes?
Don't have the biggest house on the block and don't have the smallest house on the block. This sale is not going to go the way Burke thinks it's going to go. HaHa...
Hmm asking price seems a bit low. Must be set for a quick sale. Maybe conehead will put n illegal family in it? It's good to be a king of corruption, until one is caught.
Wonder if he's fleeing to fla? Has his wife retired from the bench? Does he have to pay restitution? What, he can't pay the gardener anymore? Living in a house with an elevator and high security, one doesn't have to move as one ages. Are they getting a divorce? At 80 yo? Bet there's a great story behind this one.
No thanks to the tour. He'd probably a) charge and b) call later for a political fix er donation. Though I would be fun to see his library and most likely great art work.
Who would want to live there???!!!
It’s next to el tracks and curie high school. Not to mention the neighborhood!!!
Did you notice that it’s already empty? Hmm I wonder, Where’s Eddie???
Probably can't stand the hood anymore. Wonder if a gang banger will buy it. Lesson learned: don't over build in the hood.
Downsizing bought a condo downtown
What's with the gawdy pink walls? Kind of underwhelming for the price sort of strange design choices very prison like aesthetic especially the back yard. The rooftop patio is nice though!
Down sizing?
Looks like they’ve already fled. Hope they aren’t Florida bound. No need to ruin that state.
The gawdy colors! The bathrooms are circa 1970. Fugly. Gosh, with an alderman's salary, he must have done well in the stock market because he would not steal or cheat.
Maybe the bars on the gate, high security, blah exterior, and nearby outdoor range, etc remind him too much of prison. 🤷🏼♀️. Dreadfully undersirable home. So many comments are possible....
From the looks of the pictures he has already moved out.
I thought you were only allowed 6' fencing?
If the thief is moving, can i help him pack?
10 million in campaign Funds and Burke built that house with tax exempt letters he was ordering GC to use.
I just saw him holding court on the stairs of queen of nartyrs church last week. Trim and slim nice suit bunch of guys kissing his ring. Just like old days. My guess condo downtown
he will just rent it out to section 8 and charge the gov-mint $10,000 a month
It comes with its very own, one dwelling, zone parking
Governors Ryan and Blago served more time for far less crimes then Burke did. He’s probably moving to a warmer climate to acclimate himself for what awaits him in the afterlife.
Bless you. What a dreadful on duty detail. Well, could have been worse: sh*t in pants and out of mouth conehead or the sewer girl groot or tutu. They all are such new money entitled and I'll mannered, they acknowledge only their own butts. Surprised they don't employ human butt wipers.
Come on it’s Eddie for chrissake!
"Fences make good neighbors."
Why was Burkey afraid of his constituents ???
Will the buyer have to pay property taxes? I'm sure Burke got a carve out. Get 24/7 CPD police protection?
Disagree. Always have the smallest house, it gets the highest price per square ft average. That real estate 101 dude.
That is one of the ugliest houses I’ve ever seen.
The colors on the walls and the floors are horrid.
This is typical of so many properties on the market. It’s 30+ years old and needs $200k of updates.
No thanks, wouldn’t offer 500k for it.
There is nothing nice about that “crib” it’s dated and needs a lot of work to update.
Low? 😂😂😂
That place ain’t worth half that.
Who would spend 1.5 and have to put another couple hundred grand in renovations into it to live in the city, with railroad tracks and the Orange line behind?
The house will sell and buyer will turn it into an illegal alien residence just like thousands of homes in Cook County. Government will pay the owner the Section 8 rent at market rates. That is why the wealthy want illegal aliens and why housing prices continue up. Houses are snapped up and rented to the government which gives you guaranteed rental income unlike renting to an American who doesn’t have a section 8 voucher.
In that neighborhood? Place is perfect for a young, enterprising, Tony Montana type.
Property taxes were under $9,000 in 2006, recently jumped to over $18,000.
walking death Ed cant be broke. so he must be leaving. maybe he will leave earth on a run away train to hell.
That cocksucker moved to 830 N Lake Shore Drv. I’m sure there are plenty of retired CPD swallowers that will run right over there or be preaching whatta great guy.
He ain't hurting for money, he's got dozens of coffee cans buried in his backyard.
Read the listing: just under $18,000. A dope dealer can cover that in a month.
why would the burke's need an elevator in their house,, they were such angels they should have been able to just fly around in the house
Hopefully some locals will make it a party spot for a few days.
That house would be cool if it was 1980. That's what the color scheme looks like. We could watch Miami Vice with a projection TV in the basement.
Just like when the Roman Empire fell. We are living through the same times just thousands of years later. Sadly America is collapsing.
The area is usually quiet but every now and then there are issues.
The house looks like a bad Miami Vice episode the drug dealer’s house that’s gonna be the ugliest decorating I’ve ever seen in my life just horrible
Funny you should say that, because it looks exactly like someone planted a little fort right down in the neighborhood. If you replaced the train tracks with a nice manicured lawn, it would look like Downton Abbey.
He was ZONING BOSS all paper work is legit. BUT is it really worth that now when the city services stop snow plowing 4 times ever snowstorm . Go look in sewers by that block they are spotless The current Alderman can barely afford a 2 bed condo
I would have gone to piss when I felt like I had to piss. Maybe it would get me off that shitty detail...work smarter, not harder.
Bye. Bye.
freekin Irish mobster, he enjoyed wearing the CPD star on his belt. assigned to city hall to study for the bar. old man died and appointed alderman .
When he sold his $250,000 home at Campbell & 50th St for $525,000, two City and one County job went with it!
He got a zoning variance. After all, he ran the Zoning Committee!
Correction 4956
no movie theater in the basement? meh...
The City ran much better and with less drama bs with Ald. Burke than it does now. Old school politicians. I’ll take them any day over the shit that’s in office currently.
If i buy the fucker, Does it come with the free city snow shovelers?
Dumb fuck,it was the 14th ward,try to keep up.LOLO.
Look it up stupid.LOLO.
I met a LT who was driving him around in 2003 when I was on foot in 018. Guy was funny but he said he sold his soul to the devil to get to drive Eddie around.
I was new and it was a memorable moment. A LT humbling himself to me about selling out.
Eddie was wearing a kickass $5000 suite and looked sharp. Guess it’s easy to buy $5000 suits when you grifting the system for millions.
Ed "Bugsy" Burke doesn't have to move fast for anybody.
Does he lose the star and pension since he was convicted of a felony?
Ahh, the spoils of a lifetime of corruption, would you rather sit on conehead's detail?
Realtor.com says 2023 taxes $17800.
You are, He isn't. Like George Carlin said, "It's a big club you ain't in it!"
His wife purchased a million dollar condo in Streeterville recently on inner LSD.
Say what you will about Ed Burke but is still better then 95 percent of our current city council. That is a fact.
Another one that looks totally out of place for the neighborhood.
unless you were one of the many qualified applicants for a job or promotion who did not get it thanks to someone who gave burke an envelope instead
He has had a townhouse near Tufano's restaurant for years.
Good job. One of his swallowers came forward.
I was thinking the same thing about Madigan since the transformation of the IL house of representatives.
The real Mayor's Mansion, courtesy of Chicago taxpayers stuck paying for Burke's decades of political corruption. Fed Court should have seized it, given title to City of Chicago for its reuse as mayor's mansion hereon. Built like a Mafia fortress, probably only a Mexican cartel's Chicago-based boss, seeking a gated compound w/8' brick perimeter wall and extra bedrooms to bunk his ever-present his security detail, would be attracted to this ugly-duckling house.
You can take the boy out of Bridgeport, but you can never get the Bridgeport out of the boy. Where's the Missus?
He didn't live in Bridgeport,14th ward, try to keep up
He was a Chicago cop.You could end up like him also.BOOYA!!!!
His old digs on W. 50th/st. which was built on a old flop house corner lot is also up for sale. Not sure if it was sold when he moved out or what. Way over built back then also. But the king needs his castle.
Oh ya other side of the railroad tracks.
Burke's block was the 1st stop to get snow removal, even some times 2x-4x a day ..
neighborhood going bad
Midway jet noise when planes takeoff into southwest
3914 W 51st St, Chicago, IL 60632 On Zillow with pictures TRASH
I looked at the picture. Who the f---k came up with those floors and those colors. Looks like shit.
Looking at the photos tells me that the building is vacant. The paint job is just awful. Someone really likes orange. I do not think Burke will get anywhere near the asking price.
Property taxes should be in excess of 30 grand for a building at the appraised value.
He also was a partner in a law firm that did tax appeals. That's how he got busted squeezing down businesses for money..
Many years ago there was a detail at Sis Daleys house in Bridgeport. The regular guy took the night off and someone was pulled out of roll call and sent instead. That night some drunk went and let loose with a couple of shots at the house. The assigned PO wrestled the guy into handcuffs, ending the threat. The temporarily assigned PO was like a made man blessed by the Godfather himself. Fast tracked to every promotion test he ever took. Ended up as a captain in something like ten years and he knew he was untouchable as long as The Irish Mob still ran city hall. The PO that took the night off never forgave him for taking his spot at the Daley house that night...
Only thing missing is a fountain in the foyer with "THE WORLD IS YOURS" outlined in neon.
"And of course the tracks are the backyard. I’m sure he bought that shit triangle piece of land for next to nothing.
4/04/2026 12:50:00 AM"
I see this a lot. 015 Bel-Cragin there are a couple of these rezoned former-industrial "triangles" right next to the former Milwaukee Road tracks with big, really expensive "senior housing" on them now. $3000/mo + and a three-block walk to the bus. Absolutely have to have a car to survive there.
Like you say, bought real cheap, even considering the envelope containing the "rezoning fee."

Fuck this Democrat mafia chief asshole
