I learned yesterday that the new female Street Deputy has never worked the street. She has never made an arrest (box 1) and she has received less than five Honorable Mentions through hgg. According to a reliable source she has never presented a case before felony review. Never submitted or approved a TRR. Never worked as a DSS as a sergeant which means that she’s never reviewed a TTR. Never worked as a WOL as a Lieutenant. She was an Evidence Coordinator when she was a detective. She was mostly assigned to the Area Two D-Unit as a merit sergeant and sent straight to the BIA upon being promoted merit Lieutenant. She has no field experience in Patrol other than being trained by an another fairly new D/C, Deputy Chief Mike Tate, who is on his way out.
A big f-ck to us from the superintendent for giving her the responsibility of approving our TRR’s, responding to major incidents including officer involved shooting and homicide scenes.

Superintendent Larry Snelling lacks the well-rounded experience that effective leadership demands. Having spent most of his career focused primarily within the gym, there is a significant gap in understanding the essential skills that good leaders should possess.
On the other hands, the promotional review board members may not have a clear understanding of the qualifications and attributes they should be seeking in candidates. It’s overall competence at various levels.

I worked midnights at Area 2. We had some of the best women working the desk in 005. Great people. In over thirty years Nicky is the only PPO that I know off assigned to the desk as a recruit. Two great AA police females, never said a negative word about anyone, asked could the union do anything. I said do not beef with a grievance because the pay back would be tremendous.
Not three years later as a new detective, no bid, no field training they made her the third evidence coordinator, when all the other Areas had only two. She was also given weekends off. It’s all on the up and up.
I’m for taking care of any of our people with a career ending disease like Parkinson’s, Heart disease or ALS keeping them on the job for as long as possible. Or the person with a severely sick child or dying relative.
This nonsense with her makes Tactical BARBIE look like a cop.

I was a Lt and a WOL. I always told Inspectors to pound sand and leave the district, 003. They all left and never heard another word about it.
You can play the game that is offered to you (drink the cool aid) or you can implement this life hack, be a master of your own game Finance your house for 15 years and pay it off sooner. Drive a 4 cylinder Japanese car; it will probably last you for over 20 years. That is enough for your to retire with a pension. You do not need a $1,000 car payment, because you are not impressing anyone; we know how much money you make. After you retire, sell your house that you only made the required repairs on (no fancy upgrades) for over double of what you paid for. And sell it “as is.”

Inspector Rank is an exempt position, we have commanders,deputy chiefs from sergeant and gang crime specialist rank. A Sergeant Inspector can write up any Lt. or Captain. Just like a Sgt. Commander,Lt.Commander can order Anyone around. Idiot , pussy captain at 1045hrs.

Inspector rank is NOT and exempt position. Back I. The day most were Lt’s by rank. Then they made Capt’s inspectors because yes - thy needed to outrank the Sgt’s and Lt’s. The Capt’s that are inspectors yes do have a gold star (along with their Capt’s star) and can pretty much write up an exempt member but that rarely happens. The current Capt / Inspectors are still in bargaining unit - and get OT beyond a normal tour of duty. Different than an exempt gold star …. It’s more of an assignment - than anything. W same benefits as district Capts

Lmao Jimmy Govern was a detective 😂 and a Sgt and Lt in the D unit. Second of all, I hate to break it you, but it's not hard to learn so that's why any white shirt can come there. The D unit is carried by about 30-40% if the detectives the rest of you suspend your cases and go home.

It is completely ridiculous that they sent a YAU back to the academy. This completely shows you the entire Department is going down the drain. I would of though that Snelling would at least have some backbone and send her to a district. You want to interview for Merit, you will have to do what real Lt's do. Sounds like that could be a good grievence.
when yau she was a PO and was on IOD limited duty she was caught running the chicago marathon and instead of her being fired she only took 10 days and subsequently since then was merit sgt and now merit LT, she has zero integrity and had no business being around recruits now seeing she went right to unit 124. Out of all the Sgt's, some who have been shot and have done some heroic shit, they pic her? The corrupt CPD exempts
