Senator Kirk is So Street!
- U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk adopted the language of the street Monday morning, telling reporters “one guy got popped” when he went on a recent South Side ride-along with Chicago’s top cop.
The senator — who was recently criticized by U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush for suggesting an “elitist, white boy” solution to the city’s gang problem — used the street slang for a shooting as he appeared alongside Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy and a handful of top suburban cops to tout his push for a federal anti-gang coordinator in Chicago.
Kirk joked during the news conference at the Union League Club that McCarthy had “edjumacated” him about gangs during the July visit to Auburn-Gresham, which he initially confused with the neighboring Englewood community. “We had an interesting ride-along,” he said, later adding, “one guy got popped” — phrasing that prompted a smile from McCarthy.
We can't decide if the stroke made him stupider or what. He's writing campaign commercials for the democrats with these quotes and his push for "federal....coordinator(s)" reeks of touchy-feely left-wing nonsense solutions.

Someone does still wear their thinking cap. I can't get how guys on here think the state and city will get turned around if the Republicans are in control. There is a reason Richard J. Daley won his first major election AS A REPUBLICAN...because it was the easiest way for him to get elected. He was back across the aisle in time for the first vote. To me, saying if either of these non-trustworthy parties controls the city, county, and state that life will be grand is like hoping that the west side will change if the BDs take over and the VL and 4CHs move out. It will still be the west side. The major difference in all these crooks (politicians included) is what gang they joined.

Kirk should ride with a couple of P.Os and get the real tour. McTourguide was never the police and never will be. We don't need anything from the Feds except grant money to hire more cops, since the Mayor spends very little of the city budget on this.
Also, the laws used to put violent gangbangers in jail need to be amended to make them class-x felonies with lengthy, mandatory prison sentences, which our liberal judges would have no discretion over.
More cops on the street, and mandatory long prison terms for the shitheads. THAT would make Chicago safer.

No, losing your legs in the service of your country doesn't qualify you for any job in particular.
But it DOES entitle you to a bit of respect, if not for your service, then for your situation.
The comment about her physical disability was flat-out appalling.

I served in Iraq too. Just because you got mangled doesn't make you a fucking hero. People throw that word around WAY too fucking loosely. Hero means you went above and beyond to risk your own life to save others, knowing you were in harms way and not caring about your own safety.
Let's just say that too many people hero worship the wrong people. I hate her socialist politics and those of her communist party. I respect the fact that she chose to serve her country in uniform, but I reserve the term hero for those more worthy of it.
