Seriously? The biggest insider there ever was, is now an "outsider"?

O.T. 016 Residents Don't Care!
I tried to get residents organized so we can protest regarding the lack of police coverage. Simply put, a lot of people don't care. They don't want to do anything. Well they like to complain so that is something right?
I even told about the lack of police coverage in 016 to the Lerner newspapers. They don't care either. They said "the Northwest Side of Chicago is a great place to live".
016 district, at least the south end is slowly turning into shit. The areas from Cicero to Laramie and from Belmont to Montrose is shit. Also at Foster and Cumberland, yes there! It is turning to shit too. I hear the Gangster Disciples are slowly moving in to sell dope.

Stress On The Job
I was headed on my way to work one day. I pulled into the parking lot and I noticed how my heart sank and my heart beat rise. Why? Well because I was heading into my police station. The stress on my job isn't mostly caused by the thugs, the gang bangers, etc... But it is caused by some of my fellow coworkers. I won't call them brothers because brothers respect each other and don't gossip about each other. Is it too much to ask to respect one another? If you have something bad to say then just say it to the person or else STFU. If you don't have the guts to say something negative to the person then don't say it to others. Are you a 12 year old girl? Or are you a fucking adult? Don't even get me started on the officers who have nothing but negative things to say and a negative outlook on the world! There is a lot of positivity in this world. If only you perceive it that way though.

Harold Washington was the best Mayor in my 60 plus years and I am a white guy. He turned out to be a decent man, on the corruption scale he was better than Daley by a large margin. He did plenty for me, Daley did nothing.

OT. For those PO's from CPD that are on Duty Disability, I finally got the straight answer from Illinois Retired Officer's Concealed Carry (IROCC). After being told by sources that should know, if you were injured in the line of duty and receiving duty disability, you can get the retired officers concealed carry card, which you can carry with your disability star and ID. Only requirement is you were duty disabled after your probation ended and you can qualify with the weapon. So other than being duty disabled because you can't fire a handgun, you can apply for retired officers concealed carry. It is in the Federal law and was verified by the IROCC office. Unfortunately neither the FOP or the department give the correct information. For verification you can call the IROCC office. They are very helpful and know the Federal law thoroughly.

It is easy to blame the voters, but Madigan has rigged the Election Code to make a ballot access more the nominating primaries much more difficult. Higher signature requirements for all offices, shorter time frames to collect the petitions and a costly and time consuming challenge process, including administrative and judicial review, that can bleed any long shot challenger's campaign fund dry before the polls open.
In many districts, the Machine candidates run unopposed because nobody can survive the hell that proceeds the election. Alderman Sposato beat the system and scored an upset in the 36th Ward, so now the Machine redistricted him out of his community.
Most people do not get that game is fixed long before the general election. Many voters are never presented with any choices when they vote in state and local elections.
Quinn is banking heavily on the ghetto precincts to deliver him safely through the primary and election, once again. The thievery that he has permitted Emil Jones and his minions to commit in return for votes is mind boggling. Chicago State University is being looted and is at risk of losing its accreditation. Financial aid dollars are being mismanaged and the media says nothing. Ditto at the Shitty Colleges of Chicago. Morons disguised as profs run both institutions.

I came on right after Jane was beat. Harold was Mayor, otherwise Jane would have been on the best list.
While I am all in favor of voting Republican, have you ever pulled a GOP primary ballot in Chicago? Almost all of the offices listed have no candidate. It helps to vote Republican for national and statewide offices, but the Madigoons have the State Senate and General Assembly seats tied up. Oh, yeah, the Madigoons even changed the law to make it harder to fill vacant ballot positions after the primary. The Democrats in Springfield have held power by running unopposed in many districts. Believe it or not, the Republicans receive some fairly solid vote totals from Cook County, but the gerrymandering and the unopposed districts dilute their actual representation. Madigan is the most dangerous enemy of most Illinoisans.

Regarding stress on the job, Why does he need meds? He has the right to share his thoughts about his experience at work. I must agree it occurs in my district too. It is sad how this department has changed, what happened to the brotherhood that once existed? If I had to guess you are probably one of the officers he is describing, Take your own advice.
To the officer who is stressed, be strong and find ways to alleviate the stress. You defintaley hit it right on the nose how some officers act on this job, You pretty much took the words right out of my mouth. Not the original poster, but his/her post could have been my own. At the 18yr mark, I realized I was developing a headache every time I drove to work. By the time I got there, it was full-on. The sight of the district building disheartened me as I drove in the lot. The sniping, the politics, the insane demands on my overstretched crew, broken equipment, a filthy, dangerous facility in the middle of a filthy, dangerous, depressing area...
As a supervisor, I put on my game face and went inside, covered my people as best I could, gave them as much freedom as I could and tried to make a couple of egotistical, psychotic bosses as happy as I could.
A friend said I 'cared too much'. Agreed. Sometimes I wish I could turn off that sense of responsibility, but I can't.
Asked for a transfer, got it, and the change of scenery did me a world of good. Better bosses (one who really cared about the welfare of his people), a better facility in a nicer neighborhood where responsible people lived... much better for me.
Meds? no. A change of scenery or circumstances might help, though. Sometimes we get stuck in the mud around us and it helps to pull up stakes and start fresh. That move saved my career.

I believe anyone in Chicago that does not vote Republican can expect more of the same. You forget downstate does not like Chicago or anything Chicago related. A concerted effort with the downstate people might get a Republican elected.

Harold Washington was the best Mayor in my 60 plus years and I am a white guy. He turned out to be a decent man, on the corruption scale he was better than Daley by a large margin. He did plenty for me, Daley did nothing.
Right. You have a short memory. Harold was the one who decided that we should start paying for Hospitalization. And look how that turned out---- Im retired paying$753 a month for horseshit insurance that provides zero coverage for many basic medical procedures.
You are right about Washington He didnt want to pay any health insurance for the police or the retirees. That why the Korshak case took place and is still going with Rahm wanting to get out in 3 years and put the retirees in to the Obamacare exchanges
