"Accountability" Database
You know all those FOIA Request letters McCompStat has been e-mailing everyone lately? The ones that say even in the face of Contractual agreements and legal retention schedules, the Department is providing reporters and others with years worth of CR investigations? Here's why:
- The Law School’s Civil Rights and Police Accountability Clinic next week will launch an interactive online database that, for the first time, will give the public access to tens of thousands of Chicago police misconduct complaints, a release possible because of a precedent-setting clinic victory that opened up police misconduct records throughout Illinois.
“This is historic: nothing like this exists or has existed before,” said Craig Futterman, Director of the Police Accountability Clinic. “The whole nation is saying we need this kind of data, and the Law School is helping make it available.”
The Chicago Police Database, named the Citizens Police Data Project, which goes live on November 10, was created as part of a joint project with the Invisible Institute, a journalistic production company. It includes 54,581 complaints filed against 8,337 officers, including every allegation of police misconduct within the Chicago Police Department filed between March 2011 and March 2015. In addition, the database contains records on officers who were repeatedly accused of abuse between 2000 and 2008. Eventually, Futterman hopes the database will include the complete list of abuse allegations against Chicago officers going back to 1967. The full dataset, which is more than 7,000 pages, is the subject of ongoing litigation between the City of Chicago and the police union, which is seeking to block the release.
Closed files, exonerated cases, blanket complaints where no accuser was located and in many cases, no accused was identified. In other words, shitloads of Not Sustained cases, compiled in one place to provide media and plaintiff lawyers with a club to beat the Department.

Another reason to stay fetal, folks.
The 1st and the 16th and do the bare minimum.
How do I get on the inevitabile class action lawsuit?
"...Closed files, exonerated cases, blanket complaints where no accuser was located and in many cases, no accused was identified. In other words, shitloads of Not Sustained cases, compiled in one place to provide media and plaintiff lawyers with a club to beat the Department> "
OK, so al his shit is out there for all the world to see. Eveerybody is beating up on the police and we are no longer considered an honorable profession.
What is going to happen when a bank or other credit based company says, You have too many C.R. numbers so we are going to deny you this mortgage. Think that can't happen, friends of mine who were fighting in Viet Nam were all set to get home mortgages or car loans. Then when their service record came up all of a sudden they were poison.
Good luck citizens of Chicago. Your on your own now.
This is stupid and serves no purpose other than to make police NOT do any police work! Let the criminals run free with impunity! I personally don't give a fuck about doing any streets stops anymore! The citizens better get their CCL to protect themselves because I won't be there untill many minutes after the incident occurs just to give out a useless RD number!
The Invisible Institute? Seriously? Can they make the Supe disappear?
Go ahead. Let those jagoffs publish my name just ONCE where the allegation was proven to be false or they mixed up my name as the supervisor who had to obtain the number with the actual accused officer . I will sue the FUCK out of them. We know that the records that were released were filled with errors. The damage that will be done to reputations will be irretractable and will be a permanent stain on the careers of those it affects. Publishing my name in a fury of publicity then quietly retracting it later will cause irreparable harm. CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.
Meanwhile the aldermen can't even be investigated by the city's inspector general.
Well guess what folks it also opens up and sets the same precedent for the politicians. So our politicians do not want their investigations and complaints made public either so we now can use this court ruling to set the same standard for them. After all they are public servants and everything they are involved in is public record. So City of Chicago how far do you really want to push this?
The city and the department do not give a shit about the Officers. The sooner everyone realizes that the better. Unfortunately we only have ourselves to blame. We can't stick together for shit. Most coppers only care about themselves and would sell their souls to stay on their watch, their car, or in their unit. To all you one ways out there, your selfishness is going to come back to haunt you. Thank God I am just about done.
It's time to out all the chickenhawks at U of C. futterman is one himself no doubt.
The article before this helps prove my point, we need to know where our tax dollars are going, every dime needs to be on-line so people can see the total waste that is being perpetrated everyday. How much does she get for her and all of her children, if it's thepublics right to know if I was unprofessional 4 years ago, they have the right to know how much MaMa is getting too.
If you do anything besides show up, you're out of your mind.
Looks like the media is going to get all the "facts" they need to ask everyone at the Chicago P.D., "When did you stop beating your wives officers?".
Starting to turn colder out now. When was the last time there was an outbreak of "blue flu" in Chicago?
(I would bet in less than a week, it would be plain, they need you worse than you need them.)
J.J.
As lonjg as they also have the online database of gangbangers and all arrests of illegals....maybe throw in politicians also.
Another nail in my fetal coffin.
Are they including the names of the accusers? How about a data base with a cross reference to who is doing the accusing and how many times. List their names, addresses, contact information, their employer, etc...
I thought the judge said this was improper?? How is this possible? FOP??? Injunction time!!! Irreparable harm if this is released. I mean This is beyond egregious. Why does the City merely acquiesce to the demands of these people even though it violates the rights of its employees. That bitch Sgt ML just hands this shit over without as much as questioning the requests? I'm so sick and tired of this place. Fuck the ghetto. Fuck the savage. Fend for yourselves. I've been done policing for a long time but now? I will do absolutely nothing. Un fucking real. Be careful what you ask for...you're getting it.
They got what they wanted a ruthless society that fears no one. Who really cares what happened 15, 10, 7, 5 or even 3 years ago. Old news.
Of great importance is noting that the Department's FOIA request log is outdated by nearly TWO years, with the most recent requests dated Dec 13, 2013. The FOIA requests still sure have continued after that date, as I've received a few of those letters SCC mentions...

Second city please watch that idiot bill mahrs show. He has quinten Tarantino on. Omg if u didn't hate them before wait till you hear him now ....smh.
You want to believe that the people behind this are just misguided, misinformed hand wringers with the best of intentions. However, we all know that the ones behind this are the just money grubbing, lying , thieving lawyers that worship money before honor and the welfare of their fellow man.
What scares me, and it really does, is the ones behind the lawyers. The individual bottom feeding lawyers aren't good enough or powerful enough to do all that has been done to our reputation. The ones that have vilified the people that keep the peace are the ones that to worry about. THEY have made us pariahs and have mobilized the uninformed to be their minions of hate and destructions. This is beyond those arrogant clowns Alinski Ayers and Dohrn.
These are some very powerful individuals and THIER actions need to be exposed, not our silly CR #s. Trust me when I tell you that my name is in that bundle many times and I couldn't care less. That is much ado about nothing. It's the overall effect it will have in diminishing the publics trust in us that THEY are looking at achieving.
We all see it. Now we have to make everyone see it. We have that obligation. We are The Thin Blue Line.
I feel it is my civic duty to research Futterman

Now can we see how much my neighbors make? everything "public knowledge?"
Strange though you have a detective at the top of list more money than mayor! Wow! How's that clearance rate again?
Now that's a morale booster! Question....has anyone ever heard any news from the media politicians or our own bosses that actually really did boost morale? The attack on law enforcement from all fronts is sick! Then throw in the pension mess. Now go get some contact cards.
Most if not all those C.R.s are filled with mistakes!! WE all know that. Especially all the ones initiated by I.A.D.!!!!!!

Well, the Building Department routinely denies FOIA requests. They will never tell you who an inspector is certified a building. I filed a request to find out who signed off on a building permit with several code issues on a building for the name and work contact information for BLM207. If you bought a new property during the "boom" you know what I am talking about. Code inspectors signed off on obvious code violations and building errors, now I have to fix at my cost, per the building department. My FOIA request was denied for reasons personal confidentiality. Then how can our star numbers and such be released matched to our names and employee numbers. Building's FOIA says piss off! In essence there is no "accountability" over at the building department and probably more lack of transparency and lack of accountability than the whole police department. Water is almost just as bad. Yet, no "Invisible Institute" or Tribune FOIA requests.
Foreword the calls from 911 to Futerman and the Invisibility Institute.

Employer?
Now that's funny
So the data base should have all the beefers info also? It is a government document why should beefers info be blacked out. Yet again FOP lets everything slide to the negative effect of its members. Officer should only be identified by star number yet nobody gives a crap!
Travis County District Judge Julie Kocurek was struck with bullets in Austin Texas!
Until a blue shirt is shot at his home nobody cares about privacy! Why not open up all Rap sheets to the public also? No secrets anymore if someone is not convicted who cares if a CR # case is public why not?
Same argument FOP the public should have the access. May be list the judge and states attorneys who let offenders out with IBONDS!
Let s open it all up and get the full picture!
If you get Arrested with 5 Rocks plead guilty and tell the Judge you had 9 Rocks,Case gets tossed.
All of the CR#'s that appear under my name were unfounded or not sustained. How do I get a lawsuit started? Would it have to be class action or do I just go the route solo? (Serious question) There's no reason my name or any other officer's name who did NOT take any sort of disciplinary action should appear on this list. This is defamation of character. I am serious and I want to pursue this and I'm sure others reading would like to as well.
To quote a national politician, "At this point, what difference does it make ?"
Awesome....I'm motivated
OT: a PPO on his first day on the street is credited with doing CPR and saving a 62 yr old man's life. Zogg, watch out!
Here's how it works... peruse the files, find a P.O. with a few CR's,create your own story to match, call Loevy and Loevy to start your very own case and collect your city money. What could go wrong?

First step
Contact a lawyer.
CLINIC?
These people wear white lab coats? Stethoscopes?
Oh. Just the language being twisted beyond all recognition. Again.
So how much was the government grant this time?
Not mentioned anywhere: the lawsuit only covers bargaining unit members. Not included with the 4 year restriction are the gold stars or civilians. FOIA every gold star and retired exampt, like screw ball Don O'Neill, for their entire history.
I had a CR that was not sustained for eight years. It was an off duty non excessive force, non criminal bull shit beef that should have been removed from my record. Well it ended up in the paper and I called the union who told me to call Dan Herbert and Herbert told me he wasn't going to do anything and to chalk it up. He also said there are thousands of attorneys in Chicago that may take the case. Nice help from the union attorney.
So if a detective made a lot of money it has to be a farce because the clearance rates are low?
Clearance rates are low despite the hard work of detectives. If you had any idea of what we have to work with, witness credibility, video cameras that suck or don't record, no witnesses at all, victims that aren't credible, states attorneys that don't want to charge a case, poorly kept crime scenes or my favorite not kept at all crime scenes, you would keep your big yap shut.
It's like trying to paint a Michaelangelo on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel with three buckets of four year old Kmart paint.
Go get your one bagger "felony" and continue to beat your chest.

And you want us to believe that you and your peers are the only detectives that had poor witness credibility, no video, no witnesses, poor victim credibility and tough felony review standards ?
Futterman is a Liberal Apologist for all the Savages who are no fucking Pillars of the community! Stay Fetal my Friends and remember, if you do nothing you do nothing wrong!

Ummm, well yeah, good luck with that!

Not true, they are on the list also.
Just ran my name for giggles, and determined that most of the CR#s attributed to me, I had nothing to do with. There are two other guys on the job with same name as me. It looks like they just lumped all the CR#s on me. I was the only one to pop up and upon looking at the other accused Officers, I have never worked with any of them. There were a couple that were legitimately mine, but not the other 40 CRs... Unreal. I guess I will call the FOP and see them doing nothing about this... again.
