ID on Deceased Child
A name on the chopped-up child found in Garfield Park lagoon:
- The remains of a toddler found in the Garfield Park Lagoon over Labor Day weekend have come back as matching the DNA of a 2-year-old boy reported missing in September in Rockford, Chicago police said Wednesday.
Kyrian Knox was first reported missing in mid-September, but Rockford police said it was not clear when the boy was last seen. A statement issued by Rockford at the time said the boy was believed to be in the care of a family friend before he was reported missing.
Chicago police have received DNA test analysis matching the remains found in Garfield Park to those of Kyrian, said Chicago police spokesman [...].
Whether or not this leads to an arrest, lord only knows. If we were betting people (and we've never gambled a dime in our lives....more like hundreds of thousands of dimes), we're going to bet this goes into Garry's books as a Death Investigation.
So, what about the other body parts in 011?

It just adds to the mystique of Chicago. It might even turn into a sort of tourist attraction to morbid, but adventuresome sort.
Additional info from Rockford news. Reported missing by the people "caring" for him about 2 weeks after found dead. "Gee, that Kyrian sure is such a good kid, He's so quiet. It's like he isn't even here."

Death Investigation, yes. But a long running and always open.
As tragic as this is we do not know the cause of death, natural, accidental or willful homicide. Sooner or later we hope someone talks.
We also as far as I know we do not know where the child's death occurred.
RIP, Let no one's ghost say we didn't try.
Pretty fast results on that DNA
This is all overblown.
I found a human eyeball in a "listener sandwich" I ordered in 011 way back when I was a recruit. I brought it to the attention of management and they gave me a new sandwich. No big deal.
Sad. There are some real crazies out there.
I can see our ME office saying that they're not sure what he died from. The body may have been torn apart after he died so "we can't rule this a homicide." It will then be put in the hands of a lieutenant who will classify it a death investigation and it will never go on the books.
Maybe Rahm can hire the same crew that did the chicago fire tribute to put something together to commemorate this? They can throw giant sized body parts in the Chicago river or something.
Rockford is spooky, creepy, slimy and seedy.
Don't forget about the double murder arson in 008 by midway that has not been reclassified as a homicide. It's still a deTh investigation.
I heard this "Zogg guy" found body parts and through his extrasensory ability identified them as body parts. So says a brother of a girl he once dated.......
Sounds like the old 'I will report my car stolen' after I hit someone with it or it is used in a crime...
Where' mama and baby daddy???
In other words the birth mother dropped the child off with whomever wouldn't say no.
"their" the mother's, caregiver's stories are flawed, I am not great at math, but something here with everyone's stories don't add up...

You should have ordered a wish sandwich....if you don't know, a wish sandwich is two pieces of bread and you wish you had some meat in between.... Bow bow bow
RIP little one
