CWB Tweaks Rahm

If you were curious about that Rahm case report, CrimeInWrigleyvillandBoystown blog has posted it up for everyone to read. And since it's not a Department site, you can't get disciplined.

That's some funny shit right there.

Oh, and it seems that the Beat meetings in their neck of the woods have been re-formatted - no more question about specific crimes and only half as many meetings next year. So the blog that has been the biggest thorn in Tunney's and Rahm's side over the blatant under-reporting of robberies has managed to make the 019 District run from the CAPS field - so much for "sharing information" with the community.

I used to work in 013, before it merged with 012. I successfully bid to 019 last year (to shorten my drive time.). As soon as 012 and 013 merged we went to bi- monthly CAPS meetings. I was surprised (unhappily) when I got to 019 that they were still monthly. So, this is late in happening up here. i do think the CAPS people up here are dogasses and their new format is a waste of time.

Also, the citizens on that site are complaining that Tunney left the CAPS meeting early. In 22 years OTJ, I never once saw an alderman at. CAPS meeting until I came to 019.

Finally, word is the 35 POs Tunney squeezed out of Tiny Dancer aren't coming through recognized vacancies. They are from the 300 whose inside jobs are being taken over by civilians.

We had a problem in 025 a few years ago and went to talk to the Shortshanks anointed Alderman Tony Rice. He had his henchman there, a retired CPD Lieutenant who was widely known as a career asshole. When we tried to ask about police manpower and other issues his henchman tried to say we are not here to discuss that. We told his henchman to STFU in no uncertain terms and Rice was cornered and sweating.

If Tunney tries to do the same thing, get loud and in his face. If you will not release and discuss this information, then we will release and discuss the information and you will have to do damage control. Have cellphone cameras rolling.

BTW, Rice lost to CFD Lieutenant Sposato, a very decent guy. So what does Shortshanks do, he gerrymanders us out of Sposado's ward. Tony Rice died shortly thereafter, so did his henchman.

Yeah, so there it is. >snore< Nothing we didn't know ages ago.

In future, when the 1% gets ripped off, everyone stay away from reading offender descriptions that might lead to an arrest.

Is that the lesson? OK.

Well-insured as far as "personal property," and got their own "personal physicians," etc. who come running anyway. Might as well have their own richly-caparisoned troop of 200 horsemen who accompany them everywhere they go.

Lots more people out there with nothing, no one, who need lots more help.

Got it. Makes perfect sense.

Victim was attended at his residence by a person physical between time of occurrence (10:05pm) and the time report was submitted (11:20pm)? Physican is that quick? From time of occurrence to report completion is 1 hour and 15 minutes and this is on a Friday night. Guy must live in the basement with the wife's dress.

Just sheds a little little in the fact the whole story seems like bs

Not some incisive social commentary, but merely a fart in the bath water.

They never should have closed the old 019 at Belmont and Western. Several weeks ago a writer for Crains Chicago Business named Greg Hinz wrote a column about the rising crime in Wriglyville/Boystown, talked about a diner that was open 24/7 and now closes at 2200 because of the rising crime. He called this a "canary in a coal mine" moment for the neighborhood. Unfortunately I don't have the link to this article. He further said that the neighborhood has 20% less cops than 10 years ago. I wonder if Tunney, Rahm etc. are listening to the bird chirping.

Anyone who got a SPAR for reading the robbery report of the mayor's kid should head over to the Crime in Wrigleyville website. They published a copy of the report after requesting it.

http://www.cwbchicago.com/2015/11/silence-eleven-cops-suspended-for.html#comment-form

Read some of the comments. The majority are in favor of the working police officers. One commenter asked, why are the officers getting in trouble for something that was available to the public? Alot of great questions were asked by their readers over issues such as, how can officers get in trouble for reading reports to get information on offenders?

Even if you got a SPAR for releasing the information to the media, how is that be a big deal when that blog just requested a copy of the report and then published it. How is that different?

I feel bad for the officers who got suspended a day for viewing it - but this is where you need a buddy outside of the department to FOIA stuff for you. And you have to think going forward that anything "sensitive" (ie: embarrassing for someone who matters) has got to be audited and you will get screwed by some little sycophant who wants to make rank and won't mind screwing you over in the process.

As for CWB, they're certainly managing to piss off their Alderman in a really good and hilarious way. As for the CAPS Sgt - well, if there's no questions and the meetings are cut in half, he might as well suit up and go on patrol with real police instead of figuring out how he can protect some douchebag Alderman.

Anyone who thinks that someone who is prominent( or family member) and a victim of a crime is not going to get "special treatment" is just not thinking clearly and is out of touch with reality. I have seen it many times over the years and you probably will see it many more. The same "special treatment" goes for being cited or arrested. It is just a fact of life, not right, but it is a fact. Rahm is no different.

First nice blog, not as great as "OZ" SCC the most read police blog but still nicely done CWB! We fully understand "privacy" but when criminal acts by thugs happen on the public way, don't you think it's a great idea to advise citizens (You know the people that actually work for a living and pay taxes), about crimes that happen? Because it's a politicians son why should the way the case was handled (See if that happens to your child how much police activity you would have is the offender on scene? no! call 311 make a report, maybe 2-3 weeks later detective maybe will call), be any different than anyone else? The public needs to see how different people get treated, thought "we are all equal under the law!" Coppers suspended for looking at reports come on, with the city in ruins police moral extremely low, now your going after "line items" like this? Could we please have a line item "veto!"Insanity is here, let's go after the police, brilliant! But think your attacking the "protectors" and coppers today are intelligent and will not risk losing pay, losing freedom, losing job-pension to satisfy a politicians lust for power/revenge! "Correct boy wonder!"

Regarding 'CAPS' -- Why even have it anymore? Not just because what's going on in the 19th District but in general. Isn't it really a waste of time, manpower, and money?

What real benefit comes from CAPS, that is, besides a couple loudmouth **community activists** somewhere in the city getting their egos stroked once a month --- 'See people! 'We've' made the Police answerable to 'us'.

Now as I recall it, CAPS was part of Billy-Jeff Clinton's larger 'fight on crime initiative' (program, crime bills, whatever) that included funding to hire 100,000 more police across the country, tougher sentencing for for Drug Pushers like Crack Cocaine, and this 'crime fighting' gem -- 'Midnight Basketball'.

Well the funding for those cops dried up after one year -- 100,000 cops weren't hired anyway. Midnight Basketball was a huge failure, not to mention a f---king joke. The neo-commie 'democrats' now want most drugs legalized. And unless you're living under a rock, or in a cave in Afghanistan, you know that pResident SparkleFarts is setting Drug Traffickers free from federal prison -- Gee, whoever thought that being a Heroin Pusher would be viewed as a **respectable profession** by a President of the United States. Oh well...siiiigh.

But I digress, sorry. So why the hell is CAPS still around? The program is twenty years old and doesn't accomplish shit. Not to be snarky but the concept of CAPS is so 1990's. So end the charade and use the money for putting more Cops on the street.

What a joke! All that police service and resource for a "robbery" which was more likely a drug sale gone awry. And what medical plan are the Emanuels on which provides house calls from private physicians??? Hope all the good tax payers of the city know that a typical robbery victim does not get a detective on scene, no forensic technician, and certainly no cars specifically assigned to tour the area afterward. (OT) Listen to this story out of Louisiana, 2 officers charged with killing 6 year old and wounding father, watch video how quickly the chief had the officers arrested and charged! listen to the end of the video the kids father fled after officers stopped him he backed up and tried to hit officers who opened fire!

http://www.cnn.com/2015/11/06/us/louisiana-child-shooting-officers-arrested/index.html

How about the bigger question? why did the father run? because he had a warrant that was being served! What was fathers criminal history? Sorry his 6 year old son was shot and died the blame is on the scumbag father, you had your kid in the car you attempted to kill/main officers with your vehicle by backing into them, you fled tragic definitely, officers at fault of course anti-police backlash everywhere! Want to give the fraud that is CompStat a kick in the teeth?

Explain to the public, particularly victims who reported index crimes, how to obtain a copy of their CPD crime report and all detective supplementary reports based on the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

Think of the bona fide burglary and grand theft victims that would learn that their complaint was either unfounded or reclassified to a non-index crime. A personal favorite by suckhole detectives without scruples: Victim reports that person(s) unknown broke into their home and stole USC (over $500). They'd be shocked to learn that the detective assigned closed their case by reclassifing crime to Criminal Damage to Property (only broken door/window = vandalism = non-index crime) and/or
reporting that the victim's home was vermin-infested and that the rats ate the U.S. currency: UNFOUNDED.

Then if only the media likes of a Pam Zekman arose from the dead and exposed this corruption to the public. The public would also be shocked on many grand thefts (over) and even robberies which have been reclassified to a non index crime of theft (under). Of course, lying detectives would use the classic Nuremberg defense ("ve vere only following orders from our superiors") to cover their asses.

When computing INDEX CRIME, PROPERTY CRIMES always exponentially outnumber violent index crimes.

This isn't about "coppers kids" as you desperately wished it was.

This is about a malignant, misshapen manling of a mayor who is
actively and openly at war against his own Police Department...

Hipocrisy.
Hubris.
Dishonesty.
Chutzpah.

"Don't you Cops look at this report or else..."

And Rahm al-Ghoul and his underlings "strategically leak" all manner
of slanted, misleading, agenda driven, anti-Police nonsense to the media.

So...
Vengeance and retribution against Policemen for reading a police report?
(a well established Law Enforcement practice for all the right reasons
regardless of what Rahm and McOutOfIdeas say and do.)

Here's to the cost of this so called "Discipline" coming directly

Rotten m/fers...

The reality is that the joke is on you
people who live in Wrigleyville, Lake View,
Ravenswood, Roscoe Village etc., who voted
for Rahm Emanuel...

Twice...

We and others tried our best to warn you people.

But you're so much more politically savvy and sophisticated
than the "dumb cops" you've sneered at for years.

Rahm's worth and integrity as a fully formed and functioning
adult male of the species was called into question and considered
suspect on this very blog...

Especially after his "Shit-Talk Tour" when he blew into town (before
he was even elected) and stopped by a working fire-house to shit-talk
Firemen.

You know...
"You're gonna have to learn to bleed."

And of course everyone who pays attention is well
aware of his disdain for Policemen and Policing...

He was pissed about not scoring an endorsement even though
he vowed to do financial harm to Policemen and their families.

What made you people think he wasn't going to cut you and your
families throats and leave you defenseless in the face of the Catered
To Constituents who are now flocking to YOUR formerly safe and well
Policed neighborhoods to flee THEIR over-Policed hunting grounds.

Rahm intentionally pursued this policy as a weapon to use against YOU!

You people know NOTHING about getting mean and vicious to fight back
against a molly-coddled, ass-kissed, cowardly twerp like Rahm Emanuel.

People who are mean, nasty and not afraid to fight back scare the shit out
of him and his minions...

Like Sparkle-Farts, he has a serious aversion to rough, hard men who know
stuff about things...

Why do you think he models himself after some caricature
composite Chicago tough guy?

>Leather jacket, flannel shirt, jeans, scuff-toed shit-kickers<

>Painted-on scars and bruises courtesy of his Hollyweird friends<

A Police Family member said he shook hands with Rahm
and it left something to be desired...

Not that you would expect him to have hands like a bricklayer
or somebody who picks-up and puts-down hard and heavy things.
Or snatch a hard head m/fer out of his shoes but that's another story...

Yeah...
A Chicago tuff-guy that Rahm is...

In the best tradition of
Joey Bagodonuts and
Tuffy O'Tool.

Nothing but a
North Shore Shit-Ass...

Anyone can tell me if SWAT is legit? I almost have my three years and I am thinking of trying out. I am a combat vet and in great shape. I shoot all the time and pride myself on being a good police officer.

We welcome those that can bring something to the team, military or not. Its legit. If you pass everything and aren't afraid of a paper target you'll make it. This goes for everyone. Practice, like your life depends on it. Because it does.

For those who do not know Belmont & Western is not closed. It has been recently reopened because:
1, the lock-up is there.
2. the 019 DSS is assigned there.
3. all 019 inventories are done there.
4, the money safe has been relocated there.
5. the narcotics safe has been relocated there.
In other words, the old 019 has reopened. The building on Addison, the old 023, the one that is supposed to be 019, is barely staffed. No police functions take place there except a few walk-ins at the desk and a couple of prisoners that are processed there. The building houses the administrative offices, tact, caps and locker rooms. That's it. The lock-up there on Addison is closed. The processing room is barely used. No desk functions for handling prisoners, property, evidence, etc takes place there. Som eone want to explain to me how this is consolidation?

To the SWAT kid. Do you have a phone call? You could've won the Medal of Honor but no one cares. You better have clout. As far as how the team rates what do you think?

08:52pm - Too bad you pose this question now instead of 2 weeks ago when you could have handled the amazing weaponry at the IACP exhibit hall & then spoke to some of the CPD swat officers who would point out that most of their equipment was purchased when Cline was the Supt. We are lagging behind other large depts. and it is due to the anti-gun attitude by the former and current mayoral thieves. If you get a chance, visit NYPD Emergency Services, DC Metro Police, Miami-Dade PD, or LAPD and you'll see a properly run SWAT Unit. Our team tries to do their best despite the D/Chief who keeps a response unit (not an exempt unit) parked at his home in Sauganash.

> Most of us residents know it's an echo chamber of people who hate him for more personal reasons.

We've lost 30% of our police officers since a merger that he assured us would not result in any losses. He plays games with numbers. During the last election cycle, he promised that officers would transfer into 019 until the pre-merger strength was reached. We've LOST 10 officers since that promise was made. He won't respond to residents' respectfully-written letters and emails about what efforts he is taking.

He could have changed his own behavior any time over the past 3 years, but he has not. We don't control his behavior. He does.

He literally cried on the floor of the City Council over Wrigley Field renovation plans, yet he has never brought those emotions and passion to bear on the topic of crime and police staffing.

Our beef with him is laid out right here. And nothing is stopping him from tackling the issues except him.

852 pm Try out and give it your best shot. Do not listen to whomever is speaking negative on this blog. I know two people on swat and neither one had a phone call and made it on their own. There are many haters on this job, who are envious of others success. My advice to you is take every promotional test, take every class they offer and follow what is in your heart. Good luck to you and be safe!
