Blowing it - Sports Book

  • Thousands of Bears fans will make their way to Soldier Field Sept. 5 to witness the team’s latest grudge match against the Green Bay Packers.

But instead of trying to score tickets or plunking down on the couch to watch on TV, it’s a safe bet that scores of additional die-hards will trek a mile across the Indiana border to the Horseshoe Hammond Casino, where they’ll be able to put down the Chicago area’s first-ever legal wagers on the nearly century-old rivalry.

While the Illinois Gaming Board scrambles to draft regulations on sports betting — not to mention a mountain of additional legal wrangling sprung from the state’s mammoth gambling expansion — executives at the Indiana casino that’s just a 25-minute drive from the Loop plan to announce Monday their new sports book will launch Sept. 4, a day ahead of the NFL kickoff.
Hell, if we're in Indiana betting on any sports, we might as well stick around and gamble at their casino, too.

I rather drive to Indiana then play in chicago any day!

Start off with the city will charge at least $30 to park your car anywhere!

Then all the high priced entertainment, food and booze.

It would take the fun out of going to a casino in Illinois!

It would be much cheaper to do a 30 minute ride across the border even from the Northside of town!

Hell, even Rivers casino in Des Plaines sucks!

Fill up the tank, shop for groceries, ammo with no bag charges. Bet on the Bears and stop at Portillos for a Beef or dog in Morrisville. There is also a Culvers, Saks and Costco at the Hwy 30 exit, bonus stop would be Albanese Candy factory about 3 miles east on Hwy 30. All this less than an hour away from downtown much quicker if you live on the South side. I predict that you will like it so much it will become a weekly trip. Enjoy the experience of saving money and sticking it to the Fat Man in Springfield. Can do the same going north to Hwy 50 in WI, not sure where that state is with the sports betting though.

(OT) You’re riding on a hard call someone shot man with a gun, then you have this in the media all over it blaming the police the war is basically against the good people the media does not want Police to do their jobs man would’ve gone and you got this punk what his camera over there the police want them out of the way you should’ve been out of the way he could’ve been shot or he could’ve been the offender for all we know:

CBS 2 Exclusive: Man Talks About Confrontation With Chicago Police Officer He Caught On Camera
https://chicago.cbslocal.com/2019/08/12/officer-confrontation-caught-camera/

Look at the group from the aerial view, it’s not just one kid with a camera it’s a group you’re looking for a man with a gun with Police being shot shot at police station is being shot with the windows being pierced police are on alert yet the media as usual blames the police for the incident instead of asking the asshole why the fuck he didn’t get away with the police told him to leave. Then the media calls out how the policeman had his hand on his gun of course he dead it’s a call of a man with a gun somebody shot a gun was recovered correct media? If you do want do you do any proactive police work you are putting yourself in jeopardy you are putting your home your assets your freedom in jeopardy think about that when you look at yourself in the mirror in the morning it’s not worth it just not worth it anymore the jungles of Chicago have always been like this and they don’t seem to ever change. And then you have this punk kid saying he should not be a policeman and needs anger management wow! As stated many times may Almighty God please bless the police officers so they come home safe from their tours of duty amen!

Our ever stupid illinois politicians. They can not do anything right. They so screwed up the gambling expansion bill that it will have to go back to Springfield for a rewrite. That will open the door to every jurisdiction in this state for their voice in the matter. One thing that I think will be in jeopardy is the clause that states profits will go to pensions. The polls want, and will get, by March 2020, a ballot clause that calls for rewriting the state constitution on pensions. The gambling money they want for themselves.Nol gambling consortium will come to Chicago under the law as it is now written. Then, add the fact that Lori wants to use gambling as a social experiment and put the casino in the most dangerous parts of the city. Then the thugs who follow Chicagoans home from Indiana to rob them wont have to travel so far

I have a place in Lake Geneva and its literally an hour drive. I’m there twice a month off season and almost every week during spring/summer/fall. Gas is easily 30-50 cents cheaper a gallon and sales tax is only about 5 or 5.5 percent. I buy my gas and any moderate to big purchase items there. Start divorcing yourself from Chicago/Illinois now. Life exists outside of this shithole state.

Every dollar the city takes in it pays out two, maybe three.
Anywhere else that had Chicago revenue flow would have gold paved streets and zero taxes.
(BTW, Chicago IL declared highest sales taxes in the nation, 10.25%)

If Shortshanks and Rahm could do anything good or were good at, it was malfeasance.
Too many entrenched pockets to line to profit on anything, it’s always been that way.
I’d bet nobody makes money on any of the city run downtown venues, revenue is filtered by paying for high level salaries, private subcontracting small jobs.

All these sites, attractions and places of amusement just keep the optic of activity.
City can’t make money for the these outlets when just keeps feeding the tax cheat, incentive granted investors.

Pulp brained swamp toad is too determined to be just constantly complain not fixing.
Toads don’t fix, they sit and they croak.

Our Legislature (and Governor) were in such a hurry to pass laws, that they forgot the agencies have to make rules to administer the laws. ISP is in court over the Gun Dealer Shutdown...err, Licensing Act because nobody gave them enough time to write the rules to enforce the law, let alone a public comment period, so dealers could actually know how to comply. The gambling expansion was done the same way: set a bunch of way too short deadlines, failing to have enough staff (let alone new Board members), and time to sort things out.
