- Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s communications director has resigned less than three months into the administration, making her the first high-ranking City Hall departure of Lightfoot’s term. After Lightfoot won the April 2 election, she chose Marielle Sainvilus to be her transition team’s communications director.
A former Chicago Public Schools spokeswoman under Mayor Rahm Emanuel and University of Chicago director of public affairs, Sainvilus kept the communications director role at City Hall.

It only took this dwarf a couple of weeks to show her SJW/LGBTQ, anti man, police hating, anti capitalist/anti working person/anti common sense, stripes. Anything she does now will not be a surprise, she's over her head and clueless. Just because you got a law degree and won an election doesn't necessarily make you an expert at anything, even if you think it does.
Imagine if good people of strong character who worked hard and built businesses took time out of their lives to run the government. Just 4 years out of their lives to make the world a better place.
Politics was not supposed to be a career in the USA. The weak and wicked have seized power because the strong and smart have ignored their civic duties.
We the people need to enact term limits and put an end to gerrymandering & family dynasties .

The Democrat super majority are going to drive more people out of Illinois with their terrible policies. I haven’t put gas in my car in illinois since the tax doubled. I’m up near Wisconsin every weekend and fill up. Was just on vacation and gas in Tennessee was 2.06 Gas in Florida was 2.15. Illinois is such a mess.
I read “Groot” and “train” in the same sentence and the mental image it conjured up made me throw up in my mouth.

Groot has been in office less than five months and has demonstrated her lack of experience, leadership, unity and trust building with the citizens of Chicago. The impish lady from Ohio was never really prepared to hold a political office, let alone being the Mayor of Chicago.
Her early experience as a City Hall clout baby, the "Chief" of Rahm's Kangaroo Courts like IPRA, COPA, and working as a lack luster federal prosecutor is nice work if you can get it. Apparently all this good stuff is not helping her to be mayor of the second largest (soon to be the third largest city) in the nation. She is drowning in the Democratic swill and corruption left behind by the likes of Rahm and the Daley's.
If you consider her own poor decision and policy making skills, overburdening taxation, rampant public safety issues and her openly biased, prejudice, intemperate behavior (against police/FOP, north/northwest side residents) you begin to see failure on the horizon. Lastly, add her socialist leanings to the mix and what you now have is a "tin pot mayor" masquerading as a reformer.
She cleverly moves the deck chairs on the Titanic and calls it reform. The media buys and sells us the reform. All the while she is planning massive and punishing tax initiatives on Chicagoans in order to continue to keep the Machine happy and pay for her socialist agenda. She is the cause of the great migration heading out of town. It's the Chicago Way.

"no question that we’re gonna have to come to the taxpayers and ask for additional revenue"
I don't expect any taxes/fees to go up, because i'm sure when ASKED, the taxpayers will say "NO--taxes are high enough!"

The founding fathers never envisioned politics to be a full time job. The intent was leave the farm or whatever your station in life was, serve a few years, and go back to your former life. Now we have a monarchy with political office being handed down, families with generations working in government holding political offices, politicians jumping from one political office to another, never knowing what it is like to work a private sector job. Look at the Bushes, Daleys, Lipinskis, Madigans, Clintons, please not another Obama though, I dont think we'd survive Big Mike in office.
A lifetime in politics casuse one to lose perspective of the real world, and may make some susceptible to becoming corrupt. They aren't going to give up the addicting power that easily, I'm afraid they will have to removed from office, either through term limits, or fed up citizens storming the Bastille, removing them forcibly.
I would take “America’s mayor” As he was called by time magazine any day. Marion Barry would had made a better mayor 10 fold. Even if he was high on crack and living it up with a prostitute or two.
