U of C Victim Fights Back
And she managed to disarm an offender:
A University of Chicago student robbed at gunpoint this week fought back and grabbed a key piece of evidence that's now in the hand of detectives.
The entire incident was captured on surveillance video. Madelyn, 21, a senior studying economics, was walking home from class Wednesday afternoon when a man approached her in the 5600 block of South University.

- Chicago police said two teen boys, 16 and 17 years old, are in custody and are facing felony charges on Sunday morning in connection to armed robberies near the University of Chicago campus.
Detectives haven't linked the recovered magazine to the arrested juveniles, but it isn't too far of a stretch. The student has some regrets about fighting back....from what we're interpreting, she didn't realize it was an actual pistol until after the fact. She's awfully lucky.

How about that person on the lawn who just watched without intervening to help a fellow human being? Probably not a man, not a woman, maybe some other pejorative term or made-up gender terms for people nowadays.

Teen boys? Gee, I wonder what race they are. Let's make them sound as innocent as possible, when they are anything but. This violent woman fought two innocent teen boys and stole their property. She should be charged.
The punk is awfully lucky that she is how she is, untempered by violent engagements.
One experienced in violent encounters might very well have known that dropping the magazine, albeit without conscious intent to do so, still leaves the possibility of a round already chambered.
And intentionally wrestled the entire pistol from the punk.
And, then what?
Why, return the punk's property, one round at a time, policing the ejected brass into the punk's pocket, so as not to be embarassed by inadvertent pilfuring.

the offenders will not get any jail time but probation, the judge will say they had a hic up. and for the comment of the person on the lawn watching the whole thing go down is sad. they should have tried to help the young lady but no just sit there and watch.
My guess the guy on the lawn didn’t intervene because the bad guy had a gun. What could he do? He wasn’t armed and the bad guy also had a friend parked in the street with the getaway car.
Did the perpetrator have a valid FOID card to use that gun?

Perhaps the academy should videotape an interview for training on how to disarm someone.
By the time it is ready, it should help the classes of about 5 or 10 recruits.
maybe DNA, fingerprints on clip or ammunition
Need to lower the age to 15 to treat gun felonies as juveniles
And for juvenile felony gun criminals their parent(s) should be made public and the parent punished with things like once a month highway trash pick up

Thought they teach their students that their oppressive White supremacy caused the two disenfranchised kids to commit this crimes and she should’ve automatically given up her riches?!?

The relevant part here is 'being unarmed'.
With a bit of relevance in 'over a cell phone and some money'.
Being armed flows to utilizing said arm to drop the violent thug and possibly it's accomplice.
The imminent risk to this gal, of great bodily harm to deadly harm, from the thug violence was immense.

I used to think if something like that happened in front of me anywhere I would step in and take care of business but with my luck, Id kick his ass and she would turn against me and back him up, fucking democrats. The best way to disarm someone is to shoot them a bunch of times until they drop whatever they're armed with, or lose the ability to use it in any way. In other words, carry a gun, even in "gun free zones."
