It’s actually pretty remarkable the amount of open air drug sales that occur on 73rd Pl. if you are ever in the area take a ride down the street and you will observe a line of cars pulling up one by one doing transactions like a fast food drive through. Been witnessing this for the past 3 years at least periodically while doing FedEx security. Definitely gives a good laugh at camping out there LOL but at least somebody is trying to do something about it

One step forward and two steps backwards. Call out the slug politicians that gave us the revised crime machine AKA the Illinois Criminal Justice System. Criminals in, criminals out. Rinse and repeat. In this state the pols call it "progress". Responsible people call it

In the meantime, on the south and west sides our fellow men, women, seniors and toddlers are routinely killed or maimed. We meet on corners with candles, ballons and mourn our losses. The next day we move on to another corner and mourn the loss of another neighbor, fried or family member.
The Community may be better off grieving publicly at the politician's homes or offices. They can demonstrate their displeasure with the political slugs that legitimizes crime and criminality at our expense. If thousands of Anti-Israel/Hamas supporters can fill the city streets for their bullshit, why can't the Community muster the balz to do the same for their life and death circumstances. Is there any real leadership in the Community. It appears not.
What is for certain is that historically leadership has been ineffective and easily manipulated by their political masters and the media. The Community is entering another summer of fear in Chicago. Not to worry because Conehead has got your back, just like Larry Lightfoot and the Tiny Dancer.

David Moore isn't a bad guy. I've dealt with him in the past. He does want crime to go down in his ward. He's not an all out leftist like most o the City Counsel. He like most politicians just doesn't get it. He could learn how to work with the police more effectively to get some results. The problem is his party (demo communists) has ruined law enforcement to the point of complete ineffectiveness. No matter how many arrests you make everyone gets out the next day at the latest. Most cases are dropped in court on the first appearance. Remember it's an open air drug market. That's not a detainable offense. You are crying wolf when violence comes to an area that can't be shut down due to laws your party passed.

The alderman had 2 cars from 007 on his campsite, no biggie, normal. 041a x2 happens right nearby, literally on the block, and turns out, upon checking on him, alderman had left the tent hours before.
Bet you any amount of money that he starts claiming he witnessed the shooting. Maybe even intervened to try and stop it, rendered some life-saving aid, tackled the gunman, etc...
I wouldn't bet my whole pension, but maybe I'd put a Benjamin on it.

Umm... really? Why would a black Democrat want his constituents to vote anything but Democrat? Why would anyone think he didn't vote for all those Democrats? His constituents don't need to be told to vote Democrat. They know where the handouts and pro-crime policies are. His little camping trip is nothing but a publicity stunt to show his voters that he's "one of us" and "cares about the community." He's not actually trying to disrupt drug sales and stop violence.

Pro police my ass. He's pro-black and pro-business-as-usual. Camping for a few minutes for the cameras doesn't do anything to decrease crime. Saying a good thing or two about cops while condemning them as lawless and in need of civilian and federal oversight isn't pro-police. He'll put on whatever show he needs to for whomever his audience happens to be, but he damn sure won't be caught saying he's pro-police. He's far better than most aldermen when it comes to actually understanding police work, and doesn't actually believe the police are a lawless gang of violent criminals, but he's still a black Chicago Democrat, and will always choose "the community" over law and order.
Sleeping in a tent probably isn’t as effective as having the conversation that he and so many others insist on avoiding like the plague.
