Those numbers stagger even me these days. Though you may be used to crime like that, know that it is not the norm, and that for the most part diminishes at the City, and County border. For extra insurance, I seriously suggest a move out of state.

Retired from CPD and moved to Texas 4 years ago and not much Juneteenth celebration out side of Houston, Dallas Galveston, and of course, keep it weird -liberal Austin.
Juneteenth should actually be just a Texas holiday because the last slaves were actually freed six months later in Arkansas..
But don’t let history get in the way…..just saying

Yup, Juneteenth should be a Texas only thing.
Slavery remained legal in Kentucky and Delaware until the passage of the 13th amendment.
If you want a holiday for the end of slavery, celebrate the date the 13th Amendment passed Dec 6th.
BTW can we blame Buyden for slavery being legal in Delaware?
