Conehead Denies Reality
As he kisses the asses of his progressive masters:
- Mayor Brandon Johnson this week reaffirmed his opposition to the
ShotSpotter gunfire detection system, standing by his decision to cancel
the company’s contract after its current deal expires in September.
“Why? Because it was proven to be ineffective. ShotSpotter came to the city of Chicago, got $10 million out of us every single year because they said they were gonna keep us safe,” Johnson told the Sun-Times on Monday.
A City Council supermajority voted in support of keeping ShotSpotter last month, with most of the opposing votes coming from aldermen who represent wards that don’t have the technology. Chicago Police Supt. Larry Snelling has also voiced his support for the system, saying it saves lives and lets police respond more quickly.
Meanwhile, ShotSpotter continues to be mentioned in courtrooms and police reports. Among the most recent ShotSpotter-related cases we’ve come across are a murder and an attempted murder.
Conehead and the "progressive's" issue isn't ShotSpotter itself, but rather that ShotSpotter is too good at pointing out that it's the minority criminals who are being outed by the technology. Numbers don't lie (though they can be manipulated) and the numbers in Chicago show that 95% of shooters are either black or brown.
Rather than address the social ills that lead to these horrendous numbers, "progressives" and lib-tards want the technology that shows they're constantly lying to be removed, even if that technology enables medical assistance to get to victims faster.

The opening sequence to every original episode of The Outer Limits describes these fuckers quite well.

The same people that support decarceration, no cash bail and defunding the police oppose shot-spotter. Their motivation is simple, a criminal released on on no cash bail or EM will go on to commit more crimes and potentially embarrass them. If they're not apprehended in the first place that eliminates that scenario.
They oppose shot-spotter not because it doesn't work, but because it does.
