Mayor Brandon Johnson on Monday put the political kibosh on a political ally’s plan to impose an 8 p.m. curfew for unaccompanied minors in downtown Chicago. Ald. Brian Hopkins (2nd) Johnson’s handpicked chair of the City Council’s Public Safety Committee, floated the idea in response to the violent attack by a group of teens on a couple in Streeterville on May 31.
One of the victims said she was pepper-sprayed and punched in the abdomen, causing a miscarriage. Several attackers managed to escape on foot. A 14-year-old boy accused of striking the husband in his head, and a 17-year-old girl accused of pulling the wife’s hair out were charged with misdemeanor battery.
Hopkins said he plans to introduce an ordinance at Wednesday’s City Council meeting banning unaccompanied minors after 8 p.m. from the Central Business District — the Loop, Streeterville, River North, and the South and West Loop. The current curfew for unaccompanied minors is 10 p.m.
But if Johnson has his way, Hopkins’ trial balloon won’t get off the ground.

If the victims say that they were punched and hair was pulled out, that means the offender must be charged with a misdemeanor.
If the victim could positively identify an offender who kicked her in the stomach, then that offender could be charged with a felony.
The voters chose this. Especially in the downtown neighborhoods. A whole lot of black lives matter supporters there. Well, this is what you wanted and this is what you will get. Next time vote for law and order and the police will feel like doing their jobs.
But if that punched husband shot his wife's attacker punching/kicking her in stomach, then this couple's life would also be disrupted by resulting outcry and likely charges for discharging weapon and striking underage offender. Foxx would gleefully press for felony charges, rather than the juvenile misdemeanors she charged upon the two violent teens.
Law-abiding residents and visitors and Chicago have no easy choice here. You either passively accept your beating, or if you fight back, you're likely either injured, and/or charged with felony yourself if you fire a weapon.
This Streeterville couple will likely be traumatized forever. It's not easy for a 41-year old woman to become pregnant, and unlikely to reoccur. Mental-emotional recovery from a violent attack is long process, and never acknowledged by Foxx and her minions.

I've sat through Streeterville neighborhood organization SOAR meetings, where the two Streeterville aldermen, Hopkins and Reilly demonstrate how truly ineffective and non-productive they are in regards to serving the interests of Streeterville residents. Oh, Northwestern, that tax-exempt billion-dollar business entity, gets great service and lots of kisses from these two aldermen, but residents are largely patronized, trivialized, and largely ignored.
Streeterville residents can't even get the sidewalk in front of McClurg Court's Buena Beef hosed-down to wash away the grease and grime, much less get police attention to speeding motorcycles and drag-racers on Grand and Illinois nearly every night. SOAR is useless. The two aldermen are useless. That Precinct chief is useless. In Streeterville, most senior-citizen residents stay at home, rarely braving out into the neighborhood, as if on endless cruise, trapped.
In a good conservative jurisdiction we would be discussing felony murder for the yutes.

Curfew already exists and has been enforced for decades, despite your very clever "hack" for beating it. Here's a few hints for you:

They got charged with misdemeanors for one reason: they're black and their victims weren't. The only way a juvenile curfew works is if you start issuing warrants for parents and actually jailing them for a day or two. It’s never going to happen. Enforcing it is futile because there’s no consequence for the kid when they get home. It’s not like they’ll be punished. The parents actually want them gone so they can do their own thing. No consequences for the parents either. They don’t have to worry about the kid being home and double- they hit the jackpot if their kid carrying a gun gets shot by the police- they’ll sue and be rewarded. Not parenting has every advantage and more in this city.

Here's the problem with your plan: you don't need a direct order to do your job. With cameras everywhere, including one strapped to your chest, choosing to do nothing could have serious negative consequences for you. "No one gave me a direct order to do my job" won't save you. Inattention to duty, failure to perform any duty, incompetency or inefficiency in the performance of duty, and the catch-all rules 2 and 3, all could bite you in the ass. If you're afraid to enforce a curfew, even when it might require a TRR, maybe you should hit the medical and hide at home. You can try the "I didn't see anyone who looked like a curfew" or whatever other nonsense you want, but then you're flirting with rule 14. Much easier to grab a curfew or two and head into the station to call mommy, or drop the little munchkins off at home. At least it would get you out of the mayhem for a while.

I'll jump in to help. Your writing style is one of exhausting pretentiousness. It's a clear indicator that you believe yourself to be more intelligent than you actually are. You think writing in that style elevates you above the people you're replying to, when all it actually does is make you annoying and douchey. You think it points to intelligence, when it actually shows you lack the sense to just use clear and common communication like 99% of people would do. You get off on using extra words and longer words and weird sentence structure, because you believe it makes you look smart. It doesn't. You're not special. You're not interesting. You're not deep. You're not fancy. You're just an annoying douche with an inflated sense of his own worth. Overanalysis of the responses to your douchey posts is even more douchey.
