More good news out of the Northern District of Texas. Judge Reed O’Connor has issued a ruling in Mock v. Garland vacating the ATF’s byzantine rule that effectively bans pistol braces. You know…the same pistol braces the ATF had previously said were perfectly fine and an acceptable firearm accessory. That, of course, was back before the Biden administration waged a war on gun owners, their rights, and companies that make legal products those people want to buy.
This comes the same week the decrepit but still rabidly anti-gun president was trundled out of the White House and propped up behind a podium at Everytown’s “Gun Sense University” meeting of anti-gun flying monkeys. There the president once again rotely spouted all the same bogus hoplophobic talking points he’s been using since first finding himself in the Oval Office in 2021.
Seriously, get one. You mopes are so inaccurate with your mini pistol ARs. These could improve your accuracy and drive up the kill count of your rivals by 30-to-40% overnight.

FYI, putting a bump stock on a PISTOL turns it into a short barreled rifle which is a violation of FEDERAL law unless you have the $200 tax stamp which you CAN’T get in Illinoyed! Bump stocks were intended for long guns/rifles.

I have tried Bump Stocks just to see what the deal was. I find them completely unsatisfactory, They make a reasonably accurate firearm into something that might get you mentioned in Shot-in-the ass-o-meter.

Was NEVER a law. Trump sign an EO, which has no real force of law. The BATFE followed and created a "ruling" which they try and enforce as law. These rulings are not laws, the whole "put into the Federal Register" argument is total legal nonsense.
ONLY CONGRESS SHALL AKE LAW.
Read your US Constitution.

Prior to the passage of PICA, short-barreled rifles (SBR) were legal in Illinois. yes, you could apply for a $200 tax stamp and once you got it pick up your SBR.
(720 ILCS 5/24-1) (from Ch. 38, par. 24-1)
Sec. 24-1. Unlawful use of weapons.
(a) A person commits the offense of unlawful use of weapons when he knowingly:
(7) Sells, manufactures, purchases, possesses or carries:
(ii) any rifle having one or more barrels less than 16 inches in length or a shotgun having one or more barrels less than 18 inches in length or any weapon made from a rifle or shotgun, whether by alteration, modification, or otherwise, if such a weapon as modified has an overall length of less than 26 inches;
However, Illinois law goes on to say (effective Jan 1st, 2013 with the passage of Public Act 97-0936)…
(c) Subsection 24-1(a)(7) does not apply to or affect any of the following:
(7) A person possessing a rifle with a barrel or barrels less than 16 inches in length if: (A) the person has been issued a Curios and Relics license from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; or (B) the person is an active member of a bona fide, nationally recognized military re-enacting group and the modification is required and necessary to accurately portray the weapon for historical re-enactment purposes; the re-enactor is in possession of a valid and current re-enacting group membership credential; and the overall length of the weapon as modified is not less than 26 inches.

It always makes me laugh when a gun grabber gnashes his teeth about how pistol braces must be banned because they facilitate mass shootings.
It's perfectly legal to have a rifle buffer tube on an AR pistol, and it takes maybe 10 seconds to install a real rifle stock and convert the pistol into an illegal short barreled rifle.
A ghetto goblin who has no compunction about spraying bullets into a crowd isn't going to be deterred by the fact that he lacks a $200 tax stamp.

That's cute. I think we are at the "IDGAF" stage.
Prediction: One Day, BATFE is going after Rifle Slings as being some sort of “ Brace”. This is just stupid enough to be within the realm of possibility.
