Business and industry leaders on Monday braced for a backlash against immigrant workers in the Chicago area, one day after federal agents, top Trump administration officials and right-wing media personality Dr. Phil McGraw arrived in the city for targeted arrests.
Sam Toia, president of the Illinois Restaurant Association, said Monday that its members are “very anxious” about possible arrests of Chicago-area workers by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Well boo-hoo. Is anyone surprised that the restaurant people are staffed by illegal aliens and it's going to cost them money?
Oh wait....they aren't:
- But as of Monday morning, there had been no reports of restaurant employees being arrested; nor had Toia heard anything about workers failing to show up for work because of fears of an ICE raid.
Thanks to e-Verify and businesses being fined tens-of-thousands of dollars for each hiring violation, most reputable eateries don't hire illegals. So what's with all the headlines and quotes about businesses being worried? It's almost like the media is a controlled op for leftists and democrats (but we repeat ourselves).
Everyone saw when the media got their marching orders this weekend about egg prices being the highest in history "under Trump"? Never mind that the numbers released were the December egg prices when Biden was "in charge." The lie made it around the world two or three times before the truth even got it's boots on.
Watch for that to be the next two years. Make up a story of misinterpreted facts, "report" it, do it again....and again....and again. Egg prices, then illegal sweeps, the Medicare money (which was specifically exempted from the spending freezes).

OT. I was walking in to work before my tour. In the parking lot I was wearing my ICE hat. A supervisor stopped me and told me to take it off and that I could not wear it on department property. I was told next time it will be a number. So now the department is telling me what I can wear while off duty to work.

Every time I start feeling envious of the Feds (who are actually allowed to do real police work and arrest actual felons who will face real consequences) I'm reminded that I get paid more than them to do far less. We get overtime and get paid to go to court (they don't) and we make more from our pensions. I did a 600 mile road trip yesterday and was surfing Sirius channels and heard a couple of libs bantering on Potus - and praising Chicago teachers for bravely refusing to allow ICE into the school, when they had to know by then that it was Secret Service on an entirely different mission - Even CNN was calling it truthfully. Just disgusting. It was fun listening to them licking their wounds from the election and Trump's executive orders and cabinet picks.
