Fata$$ Backtracks (Senators, too)

Guess who must have gotten word that the Border Czar himself was in town and ready, willing and able to arrest Porky?

• Pritzker said, “Well, let me start by being clear that when we’re talking about violent criminals who have been convicted and who are undocumented, we don’t want them in our state. We want them out of the country. We hope they do get deported. And if that’s who they’re picking up, we’re all for it. They show up with a warrant, and we’re going to hand over people who are in our prisons or in our jails who fit that description."

That's a big change from just a few days ago when he was protecting every illegal and saying the feds would have to "go through" him....and we said bring a lunch because that looked like an all-day job. Someone must have told him what the polling numbers were nationally and how it impacted his presidential ambitions.

He still had to appeal to his libtarded followers though:

• "Now, what they’re also doing, though, and it’s quite disturbing, is they’re going after people who are law-abiding, who are holding down jobs, who have families here who may have been here for a decade or two decades, and they’re often our neighbors and our friends. And why are we going after them? These are not people who are causing problems in our country. What we need is a path to citizenship for them. We need to secure our border. We need to get rid of the violent criminals, but we also need to protect people, at least the residents of Illinois and all across the nation, who are just doing what we hope that immigrants will do."

Um, dumbass? They're all criminals - they broke immigration law to get here. AND he wants a secure border? That's a new one for a democrat billionaire who wanted cheap labor just a few days ago.

And we already have a "path to citizenship." It's called "immigrate legally" and there's a process in place to identify them, background check them, set conditions for citizenship and swear them in after a test. Been there for years. We've known hundreds who have done it - legally and by the book. You don't reward those who skip the process because they've dodged the authorities for years.

And look who else is waking up to the new reality (with the usual caveats):

• Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth, Illinois’ Democratic senators, issued a joint statement on the raids Sunday night, saying those “who pose a danger to our country” should be the focus of deportation efforts while others are given a chance to earn legal status by registering with the government, submitting to background checks and “paying their dues.”

They can "pay their dues" at the end of the line, the way millions of their countrymen and women did it. It's amazing how adamant legal immigrants are against the border-jumpers.
