When Chicago police leaders and Cook County State’s Attorney Eileen O’Neill Burke announced charges against a suspected serial killer on Wednesday, they did not speak about the accused man’s background.
Asked about the criminal background of 21-year-old Antonio Reyes, CPD Chief of Detectives Antoinette Ursitti said she was “limited” in what she could say because state law prohibits officials from revealing juvenile criminal records.
It seems that since no one could talk about his background, he was free to kill, again and again and again?
Reyes was given three years of probation in juvenile court for aggravated robbery and aggravated battery in December 2019. Between March 2020 and November 2020, while he was allegedly killing six people and trying to kill four others, he picked up four more juvenile cases: armed robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful use of a weapon, and a narcotics charge.
Prosecutors revealed that information when they charged Reyes with his first murder and attempted murder cases in December 2020. Our reporter was taking notes.
Those first two cases earned Reyes a place in our “Not Horrible” reporting series, a collection of reports about people accused of committing murder and attempted murder while on pretrial release for felonies.
We called it “Not Horrible” because Cook County Chief Judge Timothy Evans stated in November 2019 that there had not been “any horrible incidents” under his affordable bail system.
The "not horrible" series by CWB (beginning in late 2019) details over FOUR HUNDRED additional victims of people (and folks) out on bail for felonies - released by Judge Evans.

Wonder how many other "non horrible" armed robberies, homicides, attempted murders, violations of a myriad of gun regulation statutes and associated pointing incidents this juvenile has yet to be identified with. The argument by extreme sympathizing leftists is that juvenile recidivists lack the maturity and are unable to understand the consequences of their criminal endeavors. Violent juvenile behavior is no threat to the public safety so just release them and give them further chance to commit more non horrible crime. Just ask an undertaker or an E.R. doctor or those impacted by the actual commission of non horrible crimes if the system is working.
The areas where the murders were identified from are solid democrat enclaves. Democrats are not associated with a failed public safety legislation allowing criminals to be set free, an ineffective court system controlled by democrats enforcing their policies without consequences and associated grief that ineffective government perpetuates. Money talks and crime is just an everyday way of life.
Bottom line, democrats are identified as being the Robin Hood taking from the producers in taxation and then bestowing gifts of entitlements to such a poor community. Clever marketing as the democrats have a monopoly of giving other people's money away and taking credit for re-distribution initiatives. Who cares about crime policies advanced by elected officials when the same political party is assisting in your bottom line entitlements. Who cares if someone else's family member is pushing up daisies as long as the gravy train is on time and makes frequent stops.

About 50 of the juveniles were being held on murder charges preckwinkle wanted to have an inmate population of 250 inmates, I don't know if she was able to obtain the 250 inmate population that she wanted.
