PPP Conviction

This is something we guess:

  • Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s office secured a guilty plea from former state employee Ravonn Hankins, 34, of Chicago, for PPP loan fraud. A Cook County judge sentenced him to second-chance probation and community service.

As reported by the Illinois Attorney General's Office, Hankins, while working at the Illinois State Police, made a not-so-legal move by applying for a PPP loan close to $14,582 for a ghost of a catering business. Hankins even sought loan forgiveness before being caught but has since repaid the funds.

"I will continue to ensure government employees who exploited pandemic assistance programs to line their own pockets are held accountable," Raoul stated.

Dozens of cases have been processed by Raoul's Public Integrity Bureau, spearheaded by Assistant Attorney General Haley Bookhout. Cases brought to light so far have revealed a pandemic plague of PPP loan fraud. Hankins was sentenced yesterday to two years of second-chance probation and 30 hours of community service.

No word if he was put on a "do not hire" list and the article claims Kwame has prosecuted "dozens" of cases. Anyone have his win/loss record or how much tax payer money has been returned to the state or federal treasuries?

Great. Now they need to look at how FOP got a PPP loan to pay their “essential employees” but instead bought a food trailer to use to suck up to black clergy more than it’s used for dues paying members. And then take a look at the Code 49 National Anthem signing totally unqualified field rep and her PPP loan. Absolute joke of a “union” you guys have. But like everything else you get what you vote for.

Does that include city government? Cuz child there would be hundreds more openings on Cpd. This hustle was almost as good as Meechie in 005 in 2017 that got dozens of officers and supervisors caught up with the IRS doing amended taxes and receiving 40-60K returns per year for three preceding years. Claimed to be an accountant but had no such degree. Swindled hundreds of thousands of dollars. There were so many officers that the IRS cut a deal with them to testify against him and they would dodge prosecution.

Speaking of convictions, what is going on with the dispatchers at the OEMC? Has anyone being fired? Someone asked this question in a previous discussion, “does the discharged loan have to be reported as income?” The answer is yes (for the majority of the dispatchers and everyone else who fraudulently obtained the loan or improperly used the loan proceeds). Mr. Tax Man, please set up shop at the Chicago OEMC to get your numbers, you will earn a promotion, rise through the ranks, and make a name for yourself.

Signed,

The OG Cop

Just like Lisa Madigan who found no corruption nor criminal cases to try in the entire State of Illinois Kwame gets creative when necessary if he gets called on his bullshit. In order to make you believe he actually does any actual "law and order" work, he puts out self congratulatory statements announcing his opposition to "cyberbullying , structural racism, environmental pollution " or anything that makes a good headline but means ABSOLUTELY nothing. Like Lisa Madigan he finds no crime nor corruption in the whole fucking state. Both USELESS peices of shit.

2 year ISP trooper. Blew a good gig. I'll believe the State IG is legit when they start charging elected officials and high ranking government employees with PPP fraud.

Unless they're holding off at behest of fed prosecutors the lack of prosecution sucks.
