C'mon, more info please

We're still trying to paint an accurate picture of what the D2A results look like. We've had almost 30 people post their scores and rank (rounded to the nearest 10 to protect anonymity). We are missing one crucial element though; the people who just out and out bombed this test.

To really get an accurate snapshot, we need almost 100 scores and we need some of the people who tanked (and tanked hard) to 'fess up to a few. C'mon, it's an anonymous board. Post it. It might even be lighten your soul. We skipped the test ourselves or we would have posted our score, but we'll tell you how we did on the last test: We were over 1,100 out on that one and we studied our asses off. We sucked. We were demoralized. We went on a three day bender. And then we blamed it all on the city testing process because we KNOW how smart we are. So let's see some more participation out there! We need your score and rank, no matter what it is. Remember, even Jamaica entered a team in the Olympic Bobsledding competition. Thanks.

Unless you obtain evry single score this whole thing is a waste of time. Test construction and grading is very complex. You couldn't make any correct inference with out ALL OF THE DATA. Time on the job doesn't have any correlation to test results.

I aggree with above statement. The second part of the test is graded by people and not a machine. It is very suggestive. One grader might be more strict than another and give more partial credit. Which with so many applicants could mean 2 points or 600 rank order scores in either direction. All of the tests should be based on 1 test, 100 questions multiple choice and scored by scantron. The day you leave test site you should have your score. But we all know who would be at the top and that would not sit well with the politicians, mayor, liberals etc...

Has anybody taken a look at the current captain's seniority list? How did a captain made in the most recent class shoot up to number three citywide? Hmmmmmm.

You might also ask how the least senior Captain in the city became the "liaison" between the Mayor's office and the Fire and Police Dept's. Direct report to Huberman. Now somebody tell me that the Mayor isn't running the CPD.

"Several have had their seniorty adjusted through lawsuits."

He's been a captain a grand total of one month! How wronged could he have been to be jumped to the top of the list? He was given a captain seniority date of 1999. He was hired in 1986. Was he even eligible to be considered for captain in the first merit only captain class? Why was he given seniority over all the captains who did make it in the first class?
