No honest judges

Once again, proving the saying that "there are no honest judges in Cook County, just lesser degrees of dishonesty," a cook county judge gave the sons of the current cook county medical examiner court supervision and a $1,000 fine for a bar fight in 2004 on the north side during which a battery was committed against an officer. Judges Crooks (HA!) is quoted as:
  • "You came very close to torpedoing your careers," Crooks told the young men as they stood in court. "Do you understand?"
Yes, judge crooks, WE understand perfectly. With a criminal conviction the boys couldn't have followed in the grand county tradition of patronage hiring. Remember that boys and girls when you run across some lawyers named donaghue in the next few years.
  • "You'd do well to apologize to your parents," Crooks said. "Your father is one of the most respected medical examiners in this country, and I know he and your mother raised you better than that."
Maybe the judge ought to list another person to apologize to: Like the POLICE OFFICER that the battery was committed against because the donoghue boys can't handle their liquor? Hey Frank? Investigate this one, please? It would tie into your recent article so well about how the number of batteries against police officers are climbing.

This ruling is a SURPRISE to anyone? First the Hatch sisters, and now the Donahue boys. Pols kids can kick copper's asses with impunity AND immunity because Dad or Mom will sling the political weight around and get them exonerated. What does Fat Boy Slim have to say about us getting our asses kicked and the offenders walking? Cop's cop my ass!

Dr. Donahue is NOT a friend of the police. There was a case a few years ago where a copper in 001 chased a purse snatcher into a parking garage. The P.O. found him on an upper floor unconscious. Amballanse comes and takes him to county. Dude dies, and Donahue makes it homicide by manual strangulation and blunt force trauma. Guess who' in the trick bag? A video is found showing dude slipping and falling coming out of the stairs. Copper shows up 30 seconds later and never even bends over to touch the guy. You see him go right for his radio. End result was "blunt force trauma" was from dude's head striking the concrete and "manual strangulation" was from the paramedics neck brace. Donahue sees the tape and says, "Well that's a new one on me." Last year some coppers chased a guy off the El and he collapses after a fight. Goes to the hospital where a nurse finds a chewed straw in his throat/wind pipe. Donahue disregards the straw and makes the cause of death manual strangulation. They are OK with the job (I think) but headed to federal court for the city of Chicago lotto. the guy is a fucking menace. And I bet he's got an extra hard on for the police now.

I can't believe that kids like this make it to the station without visiting a dark alley on the way. Do the north side police actually think dem's kids get punished in Cook County courts?

If you want to see a police-fighter punished, you are going to have to choose a different venue and a different application of law.

Crooks was a cop in the 21st District until late 70's when he left to become an Asst. cook County State's Attorney as a criminal prosecutor. Elected to the bench in Nov. 1996 and assigned to the Criminal Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County. As I remember him, he was a no-nonsence kind of guy who worked like he partnered with Gloves Davis. (For those of you who remember the old days and for those of you who can only guess.)

Not defending him or his words, but I'll just throw out the thought that this judge probably knows that his ruling will make the difference in the law student's future.

In Illinois or almost any other state, a felony conviction for punching a police officer WHILE you are in school is not likely to sit well with the state bar.

I didn't read the story close enough to figure out what these idiots were charged with, but I'd suspect that there were sympathetic democrats in line to protect them from the State's Attorneys Office to the courtroom, and then some.

But if he made one mistake, its not honoring the badge he once carried... if the information provided above is true. He should have insisted that at least the aspiring lawyer write and read an apology to the officer.

and while we are talking about Dems' kids and battery, did anyone else see that young Kevin Joyce was let off the hook out in the south suburbs for assaulting a guard at the tweeter center?

Does 3 cases make a pattern? If so, it seems the children of local Dems now have a pattern of committing battery!

In line with your thoughts, you are correct, the bar association's fitness committee will not look favorably on this case, whether convicted or not. The mere fact of the arrest will bring the student's character into question and may, at least, delay his admission. Look at the case of our neo-nazi advocate, Hale, - he had never been convicted of a crime yet the bar refused to admit him based upon the views which he espouses.

Right about at least "Two Gun Pete" AFAIK. But a question. Did that guy really have the highest confirmed body count in CPD history?

Either way, who holds second and third?

There's at least one Full Metal Jacket reference I just missed here.

You'll never know the "body count" of Two Gun Pete.

Many were unreported and undocumented kills...

Kind of just left in the alley to be found, classified as an unsolved homicide.

His real nic-name should of been Three Gun Pete, but since the third gun was unregistered and the serial number was "gone" we will leave his nic-name Two Gun Pete.

Remember this kid.....
The rule of the jungle applies to high crime inner city areas....
Laws dont mean SHIT
Jail is nothing to them....

But kick their ass and bitch
slap them a bit.....
They will always respect you.

They grew up in violence and thats all they understand and respect.

I have been retired almost 19 years now. Came on in the early 1950's.

Our rules always worked.
You hurt a cop, you end up in a hospital before the lock up.
You kill a cop, you were usually caught D.O.A. (no trail for the family to sit through, no parole hearings, no early releases or being found not guilty.)

Our quote was IF YOU DID SOMETHING WRONG ITS NOT OUR JOB TO JUDGE YOU, ITS THE LORDS. OUR JOB IS DELIVERYING YOU TO THE LORD.

Today we have 5' tall sissy bitch female officers, young guys who avoid assisting officers or go the other way on 10-1's or bitch its not on our beat.

In my day, there was no CR on another officer. It was man 2 man in the parking lot or bar.

Hey guys.....

Its Supt. Phillip J Cline

Not Kline, Not Clin, Not Clinn!

And there are no adjectives in
my name such as Fat Fuck, Phat Phuck, Humpty Dumpty, Waddle, short fat fuck or any others.

Please at least know how to
spell my name. You do work for me.

And if you notice I do wear both awards, physical fitness and uniform appearance. For which I qualified in person for both. No clout or pressure used.

Most of the "bulkiness" in my uniform are "complete body armor" protection layers (Neck to Toe). I am a high security risk in my position. The protection is greatly needed to protect such a high profile big city police leader.

Ok, At Ease and back to your posting.

The Very Honorable
Supt. Phillip J. Cline ****
4 Star Supt. of the Chicago
Police Department.

If you don't know how to spell it, why should you correct others?

Danny Lukensmeyer was an FTO in 009. He retired a couple of years ago after they found an unmarked police squad in his driveway. He apparently had been using the vehicle for at least a year. Supposedly he was charged on that, but I could find anything.

He was the top-earning P/O in the department for a few years as he was in court everyday. Back when there was one day for Gun Court, another for Autos, another for Narcotics, and so on.

He was a good copper and if ya worked with him would always get a pinch. Alot of CR #'s too!

I was in dope court with Lukensmeyer about 10 years ago. He tells his tale to the judge and gets no probable cause. Dude is standing there in his DOC khakis and starts giggling. Lukensmeyer looks at him and starts laughing maniacally. Dude melts right there and pisses the front of his khakis. Lukensmeyer's laugh meant "I know where you live and where you sell". It was fucking awesome. Even the judge looked uncomfortable. Lukensmeyer had skull & crossbones instead of stars on his city flags. The last of the old outlaw coppers. His hands were as big as his head. What a beast of a man he was. Years ago he ran with this guy called "Good Time" Charlie Burns. Another savage who could have been Lukensmeyer's twin with a mustache. Thinking about those old timers has made me sad. This job has gone to shit. Oh well, I guess if the city doesn't want us to police you young guys may as well have some Trixie with a blond ponytail to suck you off in the car. Keep your pecker's hard and your bullets dry.

Yea, I remember one time Lukensmeyer, when he was 99, had about a half dozen guys on the wall.

I was the first car on the assist, it was a few minutes, and when I got there the street deputy was holding Lukenmeyer's gun while he searched them. After finding the dope and gun on one of the guys Danny says to the boss, "I'll put ya in box 2, boss." The deputy says, "you do and I'll get a CR# on you," hands Lukensmeyer back the weapon and drives off.

You all forgot about Tony Francis, When Tony worked the Englewood Mall, on midnigts, it stayed literally empty, all the thugs were afraid to even enter. One time a punk called Tony an old grayed hair bitch, punk went to the hospital and no cr# either. They stuck him in the mall when Pam Zekman(spelling?) did an expose on Chicago's most brutal cops.

They let Luke plead to misdemeanor CTTV and take his pension. Last I heard, he got divorced and left the state. Thinks he's in Florida but not sure. He was colorful and certainly knew the streets. BTW, I suspect the street deputy referred to above was an old friend of his, he's had plenty and alot of them owed him favors.
