Rally for Mayor Falls Apart
Remember on 01 September when we posted about Fran "the water carrier" Spielman's article about a woman who was organizing a rally to support the embattled mayor? The woman claimed to have no ties to the administration and she would be announcing a date and time for the rally at a later date to tell the Feds to "back off."
Well, thanks to a nifty bit of investigative reporting by the Chicago Tribune's Dan Mihalopoulos and Laurie Cohen (free registration required), it turns out that the woman in question is Janet Murphy, wife of Thomas J. Murphy, a city hall lobbyist who received over $600,000 in lobbying fees and owner of a company that does over $10,000,000 in business with the city. Of course, she and city hall deny coordinating this escapade, and it's probably true (the hall isn't that stupid), but she must be goofy if she thought this wouldn't be traced back to her, her husband, and her husband's business.
And Fran? Just out of curiosity, do you EVER get out the building and actually research your stories? Or are you another "New York Times Jason Blair" type reporter who just fills in the blanks as they pop up with whatever BS the subject feeds you or you can make up? Do you even remember J-school?

This for a mayor who had his hands on the pulse of the city and was praised as having a vast grasp of details....Wait that was before the "troubles" now he doesn't know or remember anything.

While Daley is a real jerk with selective amnesia, his successor could well be the mayor from hell.
He is corrupt as any of them. But he really plants pretty flowers and trees with iron fences everywhere. It's sad but funny to watch him shamelessly suck up to
blocks of voters.

Well Ive been waiting for a tree to be trimmed on my parkway and a broken curb to be fixed for three years now, I live in the 19th ward and 022nd District.
I get NO poolice service, my ambulance is always east, I wish Daley would be indicted or struck down with a illness, be lucky you can get a tree trimmed, ure in good shape.
I do not work for a police department but a social garbage agency, I live in a kingdom not a democracy.

In regards to Roberts. Yea, i watched the hearings, and yea, I thought he sounded fairly well. No surprise there though, with all the doubletalk Republicans do so well. Heck YOUR president is the king of that. That's how he got us in the invasion of Iraq.

If you had been near the call in 017 you would have heard ALL the SIRENS from the OTHER CARS also responding and observing Rule #1. It's not your job to come on the air asking the dispatcher why you don't hear more cars comming up over the air. Don't worry, they're going we can hear the sirens.

Hey guys, don't feel bad about Uncle Phil. He even shorted his own neighborhood a police car several nights this week. Beat car down the entire midnight shift. Supposed to protect about 20,000 people, and he doesn't even put the car up on midnights.
Oh, by the way. A hell of a lot of us live there too and are not getting the police protection we deserve, either.

If you live out west look out for each other and maybe call ginger and let her know she can be replaced. I know all three of these officers on 2211 afternoons and they certainly are not dogs. If you get your facts straight, they are actually very active and are locking up the aceholes on their/your beat as they STAY on 2211's beat. Maybe the slow response time is due to the fact that they are in the station on an arrest and the DOG rapids in 022 take their time getting to your "my neighbors doggy pissed on my lawn" call you idiot!
These people bitching about 022 are the same people who whine about everything that is wrong about 022, but will not go to 022 to show them how it's done because they have a cush job. They're probably the parents of the little jackasses who mouth off to the police & feel they are untouchable because, "my daddy's the police". And also are the first ones to bitch if your little jack-off kid mouths off to the police & gets a well-deserved crack.
The people "bitching" about response in 022, are not complaining about dogs urinating on the lawn. The complaint is when a PO calls 911 to report a susper, and describes a vehicle containing M/1s with its lights off and plates covered,(obviously looking to rob someone, like they did days earlier in the same area) and no car shows. Except outside units coming from quite a ways (79/Cicero)
Before the anonymous poster recommends to "bid" to 022, you must realize first that the response and patrolling is being done by POs, that live in the district and are assigned to outside units. So they are putting their money where their mouth is.
The beat guys on afternoons on that beat are very good officers as well as a handful of others. But when they are down in the station, just hope you got one of those outside units close by, when you call in the next robbery that is about to occur.
