Evidently, we have a tiny brained troll who thinks it amusing to post a comment or three consisting of nothing but "XXX" or "+++." This, of course, makes it nearly impossible for others to load up the comments as it takes over 20 minutes to load the troll's nonsense. So, we deleted the first post and are posting this again without the X's and +'s. Whoever you are, knock it off. You're ruining it for everyone else.
Has anyone else heard anything about this "suicide by explosive device" outside of the Oklahoma University stadium during the Kansas/OU game? No one as far as we can tell is covering this locally. We've checked both papers and the network websites - zip.
On it's face, this appears to be a failed suicide bomber attack as explosives aren't usually the preferred method of someone looking to harm themselves. This is someone looking to do some damage.

- A statement from OU president David Boren called the explosion "an individual suicide." The identity of the person killed was not known.
A second device was found in the area and detonated by police around 9:05 p.m.
Keep your ears and eyes open for info. Maybe it's something and maybe it isn't. But it deserves a look, especially in a sports town like this.

Initial caveat: white, Republican, hard-core conservative, and wish there were no ghettos with the Meardays of the world.
That said, these incidents were a complete and utter disaster. No matter how bad this punk is, some 25th district jackasses still managed not to shine while standing next to him.
First, a beating with an initial "wasn't us" that the bosses backed... right up til they showed it was Mearday's teethmarks and blood on *someone's* nightstick.
Then, very shortly after *someone* and his partner get fired, the tac team from the same unit manages to pick up Mearday on the street. And who is there to witness the arrest and swear up and down that its all on the up-n-up from the get-go? The 025th district tac lieutenant. Yup, riding around with his boys, and available to eyewitness and verify what would look to any outsider as retaliation! God knows the citizens and juries of this city trust us to do no such thing.
This piece of shit did not deserve one red cent of my money, of that I am sure. But if our people would quit acting so fucking stupid, particularly with the see-through lies, this piece of shit wouldn't be getting one red cent of my money.
And, in fact, the streets would almost certainly have taken his punk ass long ago.

From your description of the Mearday incident I can tell you have no idea of the facts surrounding the incident. Nightsticks were not used on Mearday. "I was in fear for my life" is not a blanket statement that gets you out of everything. A lot brighter people than you tried to fix that situation. The problem was the severity of the beating and C & T's initial panic after seeing what they had done. They made choices that they couldn't recover from. Nothing was going to save them except Mearday taking it like a man. Your attack on where they worked is typical of this job. Thank God they hired you. I'm sure you're personally responsible for the 25% reduction in murders. You're officer one bagger and now you run it. I hope that you find time away from your busy policing schedule to come on here everyday and give us a little lesson on police work. For the record, I worked with C,T, & M. I was no fan of theirs. They got me jammed up more than once. Our job doesn't have a little list of solutions you plug into the appropriate situation. These things are dynamic and alive. One day something may spin out of control on you. You'll get to see how smart you are then.

I wasn't there. However, I've had numerous "debates" with kneejerk defenders of C&T who had wiped the bad memories of the initial facts from their minds.
The bosses originally adopted their defense of "it wasn't us", and turned on them when indisputable evidence turned up with Mearday's blood and teeth imprints or whatever.

As for the fear for my life, I appreciate your nitpicking my blanket suggestion. God knows some moron on this job or another might just repeat it over and over, without trying to justify it, and blame me if they still got sandbagged. I'll stick with the defense though. If you have to use violence on someone, the only thing to remember is the underlying justifications which allow you to do so.

Actually, these guys were doing fine right up to the moment the tests came back. Unfortunately, some bosses had already been quoted in the press as saying that C&T hadn't touched Mearday. And paper had been written to say this. Sell your sob story to another sucker. Maybe the kids at the academy will buy it, but it ain't selling here.
I was working in 25 too, and I know of 2 people who took time for them so I know who you are.
They really fucked up. I was taught that if I was justified in lighting someone up, I should be able to say, Yes, I did it and why, and that I would do it again. Have sat in federal court accused of civil rights violations and got a hung jury. The city then settled anyway, just to make it go away. Most of the Corp. Counsel are useless and couldn't make it in the real world. That's another prime who you know or blow spot. The only saving grace is that odds are very good that Mearday will o.d., or wipe out in his new Hummer or whatever high end car he buys, or one of his own will stick him up for the bling-bling he will be sure to buy.
But yet you haven't lit anyone up or caused death or injury as severe, so don't talk about what you don't know

Yes there was a dime size spot of blood found on 1 flashlight right next to the switch, and it belonged to the officer that MEARDAY did not accuse of striking him a flashlight.
There was also blood all over the squad car, the officers, the ground and probably the baton that he was struck with. So by your argument, he must have been beaten with everything with blood on it??? Or is it possible that due to the two lacerations on his scalp and his seperated upper alveolar, blood got on alot of things?
