Just so Everyone Knows

We went through our W-2 and compared it against our check stubs and we found an error. AN ERROR! So it seems that there is something to all the complaining about the Finance Division switch over and constant screw ups that keep popping up all over creation.

The error was $0.02. Two cents. In the Federal withholding box.

Seriously.

And we were going to give it to Lefty as he's always tossing in his two cents anyway.

I don't think that she is a racist. Just one of those women that think her *hit don't stink and because she is married to a "Basketball star" she can do what she wants, when she wants. Into herself kind of gal. Thinks that she is the celebrity also.
Dumb is what I call them.

the glaring and repeated mistakes by these "suckholes" in finance is mind blowing! will anyone face the fire on this? if we made a series of bonehead fould -ups like they have we'd be looking for a job. i'm so sick and tired of these double standards. on the chicago police department what's good for the goose apparently good enough for the gander. finance has certainly screwed the pooch on more than one occasion and guess what gang... we're the POOCH. its time to clean house down on 35th street. Oh by the way anybody heard anything about any command changes coming ??

speaking of money/finances....has anyone ever seen, does anyone know, exactly where the CPD spends ALL of its money? I mean, a complete and total audit of income in, and spending out; i.e., tax monies, federal, state, and local income, grants, etc., vs. spending out; i.e., salaries, purchases, including 1505 funds, monies spent on CAPS, etc. What I'm wondering about is an accounting of EVERY dollar in and out (what and how much came in and from what source), and where did each dollar go (CAPS dinners, pencils and baloons, civilian salaries, equipment(?)purchases, etc., etc......

***NO!*** Correct figure, per deductions on every pay stub, is 436.75. Breakdown is as follows:

1 check @ $16.50
9 checks @ $16.75
1 check @ $21 (that was the retro check)
14 checks @ $17.75

In response to the above questions. In order to get a look at the cities finances you need two things. A federal investigation or a lawyer to file a 'freedom of information act suit'. There is a major federal investigaion going on, but the U.S. attorney has asked for more investigators (FBI) due to the fact that even though he has the largest investigation unit in the United States they are completely swamped going through records at city hall. As far as the freedom of information act stuff the newspapers and lawyers like Shakman file suits in order to get information from time to time. The City does not give out information unless it is good news. They often tell outright lies. That's why rumors are often the only source of info on this job that is legit. There are not to many attorneys (try none)willing to take up city hall to get information or give them a politcal black eye (filing a lawsuit for monetary damages doesn't count since the majority of the voting electorate don't mind paying more tax's or they don't pay tax's at all). It's allright to file suits against the city for money, when you talk about doing it for political reasons you better watch out. It's party of Chicago culture.

Lawsuit? Kid, go talk to your watch rep/unit rep. You need to file a grievance, not a lawsuit. And, you have 10 days to submit for PDay. They can deny anyone they want and say that it is because of manpower. There is nothing written stone that says they gotta give you the day off.

O.K. I went and read the cities budget information. A few things missing. It doesn't tell me shit about how the Police Department spends its money. It doesn't tell shit about how much we spend on CAPS or how we spend it. Who gets contracts and how much. How much money does the Federal Gov't give us (I'm sure I can quit my job and read the federal budget to find out). How the federal money is being spent. You understand what I'm getting at. So if you don't mind I'll just keep bitchen about how this idiotic city spends the allmighty tax dollar. Thank you Mr. Mayor.

What about Millenium Park. That was a great investment. Or the Chicago Public Schools. How can anyone complain about how Democrats spend tax dollars and then try to hide the details. I don't understand.

Was at the Uniform Store today, some mope was there buying his Crime Reduction Award. This department is just so full of “PX” heroes. Reminds me of a resume I read from a Sergeant in a North Side dist. Very impressive! However, I looked up her complimentary record. She had forgotten to inform the city of what a decorated hero she was. Geez……….. Well, maybe she gave them to herself for the excellent work she is going to do.

Don't believe that everything that is printed on the intranet is accurate. There are many officers with training info and comp history info missing.
Keep in mind who the Date Entry Operators are on this job =
Civilians. And you think they give two s*its about whether your info is correct or not? Think again.

Records are not always accurate. According to the Department I have been trained on my day off, for things I have never been trained for, the video training is the best. Ive seen like 500 videos.

As for complimentary history mine is all screwed up. It has me down for awards I did not earn and of course left off the ones I did get.

While there are some people who wear Bars that they should not, the system is not always correct.

Try contacting personnel to correct it. The person that does it (only one) according to them is either off, on the medical, furlo or away from her desk. Leave messages on the voicemail and dont hold your breathe waiting for her to call you back.

Rememebr you know if your the Police and all those little bars do not mean diddley.
