W-2s Screwed Up?
Starting to hear reports that the W-2s are a little messed up. Some supervisors are being reported as having earned 20 and 30 thousand dollars over and above their regular salaries. Some PO's are reporting shortages that have nothing to do with Defered Comp withdrawls. Someone needs to go downtown and boot these idiots in the head. Who's got info? What is Frank Wilson doing about this?

I said they were screwed up last week on this blog...
We heard from someone down in finance that they were going to send them out (ALOT of THEM) fucked up just so they would be out by 31 Jan.
Now maybe the POs that were calling us whiners will cry cause they got screwed.
Where is the sheet will all of our payments that the city was going to give us? (so we can double check the W-2s.
Attention all young officers! Never, Never, Never trust the city or the Dept. They will lie to you every time. The finance section has more political hacks and un-qualified people working there than ever before.
The FOP should be doing something about this. Perhaps it's to much of an effort on their part to take on the Finance Dept.

the sheet with all your payment info is called a pay check stub, if you did not retain these important documents, oh well....blame someone else...
Get this I know a po that made 3 times his salary on his w-2. He said it would have been nice if he actually made that much. Keep on trucking Finance!!!!!
How many P.O.'s in the finance department have a degree in finance or any degree having to do with numbers ??? Less than half is the answer!! So why do we allow this to continue... because all we do is complain on this web site or on stall walls. We are not a family and because of this we will always get FUCKED!! So keep taking it up the ass or come together as a unit or as a family and do some thing!! Everyone can write a letter or we can protest outside City Hall, whatever we do we have to do it with a large number of us or it won't mean a thing...

For those who didn't get a w-2 like me, go to www.cityofchicago.org, then go to the finance section and look on the left side for the link that says request replacement w-2 and follow the instructions and you should be good to go in a week or two.
Fax it to Finance in City Hall not the mopes at CPD finance.
Having 15 going on 16 yrs on the job this is the most fucked up I have ever seen it. Now I know why no one really wants to work here.

This is why nothing is ever accomplished with us. Nobody sticks together on any issues. 1400 sworn members have their paychecks and/or W-2s messed up. One guy (with 20 years..WOW impressive) says hey.. mine is okay, you’re all assholes.. then, just walks away.

Okay, so let me get this straight. There are about 1400 (Don't know if this number is substantiated, yet!) people who have their W-2's messed up. Now, exactly what do you want the rest of us to do? Should we fill up the phone lines to FOP and feel sorry for you and cry on their shoulders, so you can't get through on the phone lines, because all of the rest of us are just so overwhelmed with

How about if you check your statement, if it is not okay, call both the City Comptroller and the FOP and file the form that some have said that you should file and be done with it!

Why isn't there any news of the W-2 screw-up in the news papers? Does anybody know if any other city departments have been affected the same way? I'll bet the Water Department got the proper W-2's, though. They certainly wouldn't want to fuck over the mayor's family and friends!

Just a suggestion - check your W2 against your pay stubs.
A whole class of recruits that started on 05 Dec 05 got their W2's and they all made $42,000.00 for less than one month on the job. Yes, the comma is in the correct place - forty two thousand dollars for 26 days of work. Don't believe what finance sent out on your W2 - double check against your stubs. If you have no stubs, wait the two weeks till the web site is up and running to check. But check before you file!
