Just When We Thought We Were Out

They pull us back in. Yes, it's time for The Sopranos again and no one shall bother us on Sundays for the next few months between 8 and 9 pm. Last night's episode:

Holy crap! Nothing like dragging you right back into it, eh? We won't spoil it for everyone, but that one lady sure is turning into the Angel of Death, isn't she? Everyone she meets with ends up in a bad way. Even being gone for almost 2 years, the writing and acting is as great as it ever was. If you never watched The Sopranos, you've missed a great bit of entertainment.

I was going to TIVO the show at 1100 and watch it later, but I couldn't wait, so I watched it at 800. Good thing I did, my dish went out.

Am I #1?

Who cares about #1? It's overrated

At least at the Irish parade, 50
youth officers dont have to be detailed there for all the missing
children. Try that at Bud Bilikan!
There would still be 500 black children still lost!

Whats up with the hospitals nowadays?? I'm and Area 2 detective and is it just me or do we get treated like criminals in them? ER's are still ok but when I need to interview a victim in a hospital they have to call 10 different people to get permission and then I have to be escorted up by security. All this while citizens are walking past, just telling them who they want to visit. They don't give their name or relation in some cases. I have to stand there and wait for 10 minutes to get permission, while I'm on duty and trying to conduct an investigation. I hear stories about nurses getting frazzled or hassled or threatened and thats why this its come to this. Anyone hear any of those stories?

I always like to compare the amount of tact/gang/SOS/wagon//traffic teams assigned per square block for a specific event. It really shows how fucked up the event really is. Hmmmm?? I wonder what events I’m talking about. (Fade to black drinking a scotch, scratching my head in a lazy boy chair watching the news).

Well, I'll stay on topic, and get a few ideas going.
In my opinion, the Sopranos suck.
No matter how you rationalize the show, its about organized crime...Gang member's really. If the HBO placed each of these people in the skin and tone of black people, this country would be outraged.
Unfortunately, I've had the experiance of listening to my fellow officer's brag about this show, the God father, (EXEMPTS FAVORITE),and good fella's.
You retard's, put the cigar's out, and relize the real men are the one who have no fear. They don't have anything to prove to anyone. They don't answer to anyone.
Alot of you make fun of the huberman guy, well the machismo thing is pretty much a paralell to that.

Ever watch the show "The Wire" you dumb fuck? They show the savage in all his true glory. And as far as your feelings towards Huberman remember, he is an ass clown that spreads disease faster than a rat on a coke binge. Please, next time you post on this blog, have some coherence of thought.

Examples:
"Ay, Joey"
"Yo Foo"
"We gotta problem with dat guy, you know da one Halsted."
"Yo joe, shit's gonna cool, he say he gonna pay, but 'dat bitch Brenda, bitch aint on da up 'n up. Know wha m syain?"
Now hears the part all white guy's like, the power part...
"Ay I don't give a fuggin rat's ass about the broad (Pretty cool)just fuggin pay me, you hear me you fuggin retard? Just pay me or I'm gonna run you and your ten kid's into da ground... you understand?"
"Yo jo, cool out, I'ze got cube head, and T-ball in da game, its all good."
O.K. so all are basicly retard's; One is a white retard the other is a black retard.
What would be nice to see on the retard Soprano's show is the real life style. You own a garage, have a couple of tow truck's that meddle in the in recovery of wrecked auto's, and you meddle with insurance claim's. At the end of the day, you meet a couple of good fella's at a nice restaurant, which is really a step above a diner, and smoke cigar's. You'll brag about women, that really don't exist, and talk about all the the connected one's that fucked up and how much smarter you are than them. At the end of the night you still go home to that brick two flat to your wife...wishing you were that man just like on the Sopranos.

Some time back on a thread about police cars we got into the old 77 Dodge Monacos and the movie, "The Blues Brothers."

Found some interesting pictures from the film,

Go to GOOGLE,

Type in, "Blues Brothers" and "Chicago Police".

and submit.

Some frames of those famous crack-ups.

Did I see Hitney among all those wrecks?

You morons will argue about anything!!!

I happen to love both The Soprano's and The Shield! Neither show is about nice people, and I don't fantasize about being any of the charecters...much.

Can't you just enjoy a well written show without all the grandstanding? Let go, relax, try not to be so damn serious all the time. Or I'm going to post another 100 SEISER "facts"!!!!

The things that people like best about the Wire are 1. realism and 2. that it doesn't show everybody as black or white, good or bad.

You watch the show and think someone from 011 had to be an advisor for the first season.

Great example for the good-bad thing is the kid Wallace from the first season. Dealing on the streets during the day, but then shown as the one who made sure that 6 little kids in the jets were getting up and going to school each day.

Or Omar.

And on the other side, it shows the coppers doing mostly good work but having their own problems. Drunks, cheats, liars etc.

All in all, it definitely portrays the ghetto in a negative light while trying to show that there is good and bad in almost everyone.

Which is to say, I disagree with whoever said HBO would never do to blacks what it does to Italians in the Sopranos. It does more than that with the Wire in Seasons 1 and 3.

I've been on the job 20 years and I'm a white male. I've worked the Bud Billiken Parade and the South Side Irish Parade.

I'll take Bud Billiken over the latter. It's a long ass day, but at least it's not loaded with thousands of drunken assholes pissing on the street and tossing their garbage anywhere but in a trash bin.
