Hoping for Storms Tomorrow?

We've heard that some people in Districts still haven't heard any plans about what's going on tomorrow. Everything seems very "seat of the pants" organizationally. As we aren't in the loop for such things, we end up listening to many different people with all sorts of disjointed info. As it is, we haven't heard anything concrete and our rumor mill is working overtime. No solid info, so we'll leave this post open for stories.

We did hear someone say that downtown was hoping for rain to keep the crowd size down and their prayers appear to be answered - although with Chicago weather, what they predict isn't what you get. Combined with the fact that rain keeps away the families and elderly that were expected to march, all you have left are the hard core types. We'll be keeping our ears to the radio all day.

Debra Saunders reports:

The bottom line is that while these demonstrations, I am told, are supposed to make me feel better about illegal immigrants, I feel angry when I see thousands of people who knowingly break American law, yet somehow feel entitled to do so and outraged that they have not been sufficiently rewarded for it.

And I'm someone who wants to find a compromise that accommodates working families that have put down roots in California.

Rep. Richard Pombo, R-Calif., represents a district that includes suburbanites angry about the lack of enforcement, as well as agricultural interests desperate for guest workers. As he sees it, the recent protests, especially marches that featured the Mexican flag, "really did harden up people's positions. It really politicized the whole issue. It took away any hope we have of having a workable policy."

Now: "I don't think that there's a political solution that makes sense from a policy standpoint that can possibly come out of this."

Even Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer has told demonstrators that while she supports their right to boycott, the demonstrators have made their point, and now it's time to cool it

Lil' richie must be afraid of all those bad, bad immigrants. He had to run away to israel. How much is this trip costing us? He would only fuck it up anyway. I can imagine the press conference now. HEY SCC, maybe we need to have a post quoting our silver-tongued half-pint. List every witticism richie has ever uttered. Sample press conference: Reporter: Mayor, why were the police unprepared for the march today? richie: Umm, umm, (face turning bright pink) the police, you say, unprepared? No, (long pause)............................................................................................................. not unprepared. Superintendent? phil: Our mayor did a great job of reminding the police department that they are a political tool...oops, I mean, the soft clothes so the protesters weren't intimidated. BRILLIANT IDEA. Who would ever think that a crowd of 500,000 with differing agendas could be unruly. Don't you remember when the Bulls won, all of the peaceful, happy, joyous celebrations. Reporter #2: mayor, what about the reports that a plan wasn't formulated until the night before the event? richie: Umm, umm, (looking at note cards and now blaze red in the face) well, I, uhh, i don't know who was responsible for that but i will do everything in my power to see that it doesn't happ...sorry, wrong notes (noticing the large writing on the top of the card which reads "city hall corruption response)." Reporter #3: mayor, why in the world would a notorious micromanager such as yourself leave the city on the eve of a critical event in American history, thereby removing any chance for you to show your outstanding leadership abilities and your intelligence and your one true moment to shine? richie: The police know what they are doing. I have never interfered in the everyday operations of the Chicago Police Department. I have not given my friends millions of dollars from the city treasury. (Flashing the nixon peace signs) I AM NOT A CRIMINAL. Reporter #4: mayor, your Police Department handled todays event with the utmost proffesionalism and restraint and succeeded in making this demonstration one of the best examples of policing in modern history. HOW CAN YOU EXPLAIN THE FACT THAT THEY CONTINUE TO DO SO ON A DAILY BASIS WHILE YOU PERSONALLY TRY TO SCREW THEM DAILY????? richie: (nose starting to get longer as he speaks) I don't interfere with the daily operations of the...BLAH, BLAH, BLAH

One California Republican running for the California Senate was quoted last week as saying that he was spending as much as he could to buy Mexican flags.

I agree with the woman's personal viewpoint. On the one hand, I don't have a problem with the great majority of these people. In fact, as long as they are here, I'd like to see them registered and put into the systems so they ain't under the radar. But Hayzeus Christo do I not want to see yet another subgroup of Americans demanding more rights and special treatment, or flying their own flag.

Definitely going overboard, and it almost smacks of a Karl Rove trick.

Mayor Won't Give Dead Marine's Money Back
Bostick Is Mayor Of Fort Lupton

POSTED: 7:48 pm MDT April 27, 2006
UPDATED: 9:25 am MDT April 28, 2006

Email This Story | Print This Story

FORT LUPTON, Colo. -- The mother of a U.S. Marine was grieving for her dead son when she found that his savings account had been claimed by the director of the funeral home.

It was money that he had no right to and despite a court ruling, the funeral director refused to pay. What's even more puzzling is that he's not just any debtor, he's the mayor of the small town and a member of a City Council that has financial responsibility for the city's budget.

7NEWS also found that he has other debts as well, something his constituents may want to know.

Jason Sepulveda, a Marine, was training at Camp Lejune in North Carolina, preparing to go to Iraq, when in an evening off-base, he was killed in a car accident.

"My son died instantly and the other Marine died approximately two weeks after," said Elis Sepulveda, Jason's mother.

His parents, who spoke with him weekly, knew he had been saving his money for a long weekend when they would all be together.

"We were going on vacation for the Fourth of July to visit him," Sepulveda said. "I know he had been sacrificing because they don't get paid very much."

Jason's body was returned to Colorado for burial. Records show that the funeral was paid, in full, by the Marines. But after closing out her son's accounts, Jason's mother realized that the probate court had sent the proceeds of Jason's savings account to the funeral home, which is run by Jim Bostick.

"I called Mr. Bostick and I said, 'Well, the courts sent you my son's savings account.' He just kind of really blew me off a lot," Sepulveda said.

She said he didn't give her any receipts or bills and just kept the money.

In addition to his duties as mayor and member of the Ft. Lupton City Council, Bostick also owns two funeral homes. In his role with the city, he is heavily involved in overseeing the finances of the town.

Sepulveda took Bostick to court over the money he wouldn't return to her family. The judge's order in the case was final.

"She gave damages, interests, court fines, everything, and I assumed that if you go to court that you pay it," Sepulveda said.

But despite the judgment of more than $7,500, Bostick has refused to pay.

When 7NEWS Investigator John Ferrugia confronted Bostick and asked him why he was still holding money from the Sepulvedas, Bostick said, "I'm not holding the money for them. I don't want to be on camera right now."

But Bostick not only owes the Sepulvedas, he owes other people money.

"You've got other judgments out there. Do you want to talk to me about that?" Ferrugia asked Bostick.

"No, I don't," Bostick said.

In fact, court records show Bostick has several current unsatisfied debts to creditors from Greeley to Montana and that doesn't include money he owed when he filed bankruptcy in 2001. He claims he is trying to repay the money.

But Bostick didn't want to talk about the money he owes the Sepulveda family or whether, given his personal financial problems, he should be making fiscal decisions for the town of Fort Lupton.

"I want to know if you think it's appropriate for the mayor who has fiduciary responsibility to owe this kind of money," Ferrugia said.

7NEWS obtained letters written by Bostick to the family, saying that he would settle the debt.

"It got to the point where he would just not accept our phone calls and just say, 'I can't hear you, I can't hear you,'" Sepulveda said.

"You wrote. You said, 'I want to settle this,' and you never have. Why not?" Ferrugia asked Bostick.

"I don't recall ever writing letters to ..." Bostick responded. "Well, I don't recall that, no. Right off, I don't recall it."

Finally, using the same double-talk that has frustrated the Marine family, Bostick seemed to make clear he has no intention of settling the claim.

"It will be worked out with them," Bostick said.

"Worked out? You've been saying that for how many years? How many years have you been telling them that?" Ferrugia asked.

"I can't even remember when it happened," Bostick said.

"It's not a real top priority, is it?" Ferrugia said.

"Yes, it is a priority and I feel that it's money that I do not owe them," Bostick said.

"My son was in the Marines and he went there to do what was right for his country. I know for a fact that for somebody to actually steal from him is not right," Sepulveda said. "I feel like me, as a mother, I need to do this. This was my son's money and I'm not going to go away."

The mayor broke two appointments with 7NEWS and refused to talk with us before Ferrugia decided to go to City Hall for some answers. Despite his pledge to settle the issue, Sepulveda said Bostick still has not contacted her.

And despite his apparent questionable financial judgment, he is still involved in making fiscal decisions for the citizens of Fort Lupton.

USA FLAG UPSIDE DOWN with MEXICO FLAG ON TOP:

THIS is what it's really about tomorrow. They think American's all over America are stupid enough to believe that suddenly, in a little over 1 month's time, 100's of thousands of Hispanic protestor's, ditched their Mexican flags for American ones.

They think American's are stupid enough to believe that they suddenly care about America!

They think American's are stupid enough to believe that the May 1st protests are about immigrants' contributions to America, not about ILLEGAL immigration!

Let them protest. Let them sit out in the (hopefully) pouring rain and cold tomorrow. If our politicians (Republican OR Democrat!) buy into this rhetoric, there will be mayhem and kaos in the streets, and they will be voted out in November......period.

This is no longer about Republican's and Democrat's. It's about keeping America's sovereignty.

I hope they're prepared for the repercussions when it backfires on them. ;-)

(actually....it already has backfired on them. That's why the sudden change to everyone carrying American flags, that's why all of a sudden it's all about America. We saw the real "illegal immigrants rights movement". They care about one thing, and one thing only.........Viva La Raza.)

SUPPORT BORDER PATROL OFFICERS AND YOUR COUNTRY.

CALL, FAX ,YOUR CONGRESS, SENATOR, ST REP., ALDERPERPS EVEN DA MAYOR.
TELL THEM: NO TO AMNESTY, SECURE OUR BORDERS AND UPHOLD THEIR SWORN DUTY!

EXCERPT LESSON #7 IN SCHOOL BOOKS.

POLITICAL LIBERATION can only come through independent action on our part, since the two-party system is the same animal with two heads that feed from the same trough. Where we are a majority, we will control; where we are a minority, we will represent a pressure group; nationally, we will represent one party: La Familia de La Raza!
Action

NOTE:
There has been with insight for awhile the anticipated plan thru Congress. Vicente Fox's desire, to have open borders along with hope in the future of making the US Dollar offical currency in Mexico.
Possiblity NAFTA being converted into EUROPEAN UNION STYLE CUSTOMS UNION.

These rallies are not supporting immigrants, as the CNN sub-head suggests. These rallies support ILLEGAL immigrants. There is a difference. These are people who, regardless of motive, are law-breakers in this country, flaunting laws little different from those in their own country.

I don't have a problem with anyone wishing to live in the US as long as they obey the laws, just as we who were born here have to do. And those laws include a specific process to follow to become a US citizen.

But granting amnesty to illegals is a slap in the face of all those immigrants who have come here legally and went through the long and costly process to become citizens, and who DO obey the laws of the land.

At the same time the Italians moved the world from the Dark Ages and into the Renassiance, at the time when the Greeks developed the mathematics, at the time when the Europeans created art, language, literature, built cities, tamed a continent and traveled the oceans the original inhabitants of Mexico and South America were running naked through jungles and cutting the hearts from other tribe members in pagan sacrafice. They have barely advanced since. Build the fence.

There was a report on CNN this afternoon about well to do, pregnant Korean women who come to California on travel visas and have their children here so the kids will be American citizens. They stay in single family homes that have been converted to birthing "spas" for the mother and child. There are all of the obvious benefits which we're ranting about, plus the kids can avoid mandatory military service. Where does it end???

They are called Anchor Babies, idea and plan which has been working, is you birth child in US, the child is an automatic citizen, or so they think. Running debate on what our fore-fathers intended. From what I read of the constitution and ammendments it does not apply to them or any other illegal. The Anchor Baby is then utilized to pull other family members, and the babies SS# is often shared amongst many.

You must understand RAZA is funded big time with grants for years now is their free legal aid. Atzlan radicals created around 1968 after riots and students in thousands walking out of schools. Thank the Rockfeller Foundation for setting up these agencies. If you know anything about Rockfeller I do not need to say anymore. Research these above other agencies and look at the names of the Pols.
